Using a Reverse Mount Macro Adapter I turned my 17-85 lens around to capture a macro of the ribs of this shell.

I suppose if the Shell oil refinery were haunted, it would look more like this.

Finally - a moment of clarity and sunlight!

We hung around for quite a while trying to see through the fog. There were brief periods where we could almost see out there then it got better... then fogged in again. But during that period, the whole crew was visible.

The previous photo shows more of the foreground and has a little foggy audio clip showing why we hung around and waited for a clear stretch.

While on Holiday with the family in Shell Island we watched an amazing sunset... who needs photo editing when they're captured just like this!

Shell beach on Herm.

An oceanic embodiment, this work of assemblage has a totemic, talismanic essence.

The shell "tile" is a substantial piece of clam shell found on the Jersey shore, as well as the shard of moon shell which forms the body. The face is polymer clay in a serene and striated form. There are freshwater pearl "fronds" which look like a flashing sea-crown. A dyed amethyst pearl is like a wing, and a white pearl is the jeweled center of this being.

A gold tone metal bail and chain, measuring about 19 inches complete the piece.
