For my final major project that has been taking place over the last ten weeks I have been exploring natural forms.
Here is my Final Piece I was inspired to create this piece after looking at shells and X-Rays of shells which is part of the reason it is (see through).
The reason I have photographed it like such is because shells have flowing forms and i had partly managed to capture this when creating it out of wire with tights stretched over it.
However to reinforce the idea of flow I decided to use long exposures and long exposures with flash to capture the flowing form of my sculpture.
This is one of my sterling silver butterfly brooches. This one has paua shells as the stone I set. This one is one of my favs. It measures 1 3\4 X 1 1\2 inches. It's handmade with sterling silver wire. I made the bezel. I didn't cut the stone.

These special racks in the boathouse can stack the shells up 4 high. To make them easier to carry out, these racks slide out so it is easier for the team to get under the boat.
These chocolate shells were fun to make. They were for a beach themed order. Lemon and vanilla cupcakes.
These fibre glass shells of boats (think they are molds). Some guy used to store them here years ago, now left to the farm. They where used to travel round the pond, and ontol the island. After being abandoned, the've started to sink.
Collected from the beach in Barbados. I sat at the table watching the kids in play in the sea, while I sorted these out. I forgot how much I love shells.
Seashells on strings forming lei (or is it leis?). Nice patterns on some of the shells, and an overall linear pattern created by setting the lei in parallel lines
Found some nice flat(ish) shells and drilled some holes through them before tearing some paper and stitching it all together, it feels lovely to touch not sure I will ever write in this one though.......
