Some kind of neat-o isopod shell that we found on the beach! It had juuuust been discarded by a seagull, so it still had bits of, uh, fresh meat inside. Eeew. Still, cool shell!

I am informed that this is probably some kind of chiton. Cooooool.

The corals do not look much worn, but still appear to have been dead. There are some delicate shells of molluscs from depths beyond 500 fathoms, where they were certainly living.

Originally constructed in the late 1930’s, this shell-shaped service station serviced gas guzzlers for decades. The building fell into disrepair towards the end of the 20th century, but was then restored by state historic society, Preservation North Carolina. Yes, that's right..this is the Shell gas station and food store on the corner of Draper and Golden State in Kingsburg, California. Not bad for a stop and rob!
