Shadow play
I was keen to capture the shadows on the pavement outside King’s Cross station. Partly because they seemed so crisp. But, also, because this was taken at 0822 on a Friday morning and I was surprised that it was so quiet.
Capturing one person in the image seems to work – especially with part of her face hidden by shadow. And, I chose to keep the reflective jacket in the background – following a wee debate with myself.

In preparation for its 500 year anniversary in 2014, many buildings in the already colorful city of Trinidad got a makeover of fresh paint. This shadow cast by the tile roof on a neighboring building caught my eye. Taken with the iPhone 6+ native camera and processed with FrontView and SnapSeed.
this light appears in my house for about a half hour; usually before noon. I feel lucky when I see it.

These were shot with Nikon's best D800E with the 14-24mm wide-angle Nikkor lens. 7 exposures were taken at 1 EV intervals, and combined in photomatix to bring out the shadows and highlights.
