A setup shot for this picture. This is the first time I ever do a setup shot, although I usually draw my setup in my journal.
Family Tents provide shade and rain cover for each team. The Nehemiah Team is setting them up in preparation for the coming teams.
This is looking from the camera position. You can see the cooler that served as a table, the foamcore I used as a level base, and the cardboard supports I fashioned on the back of the reflector foamcore so that it would stand up on its own.

Setup used for photographing Ochropleura plecta (the Flame Shoulder moth).
The moth is pushed onto a piece of white paper. Once it has settled, the paper is trimmed around the moth, and then placed on a white flat surface (the windowsill).
Behind the moth is placed a white piece of card to act as a backdrop, propped up against an old honey jar.

The setup shot for my Christmas "card".
Since I don't own PWs I had to shoot in bulb mode and fire the SB28 twice to get the "best" lighting. Camera on the tripod, close the basement door, don't trip over the tripod, locate the release on the camera. Then pickup the flash, press the shutter release, find the test button on the flash and fire it, move the arm to a different location and fire the flash again. Repeat until photo is good enough.

Camera left: ABR800 at full-blast with umbrella adapter shooting into a convertible umbrella, bounced onto a white bedsheet for a queen-size mattress...back left 430EX2 snooted at 1/8 and back right FL50 bare at 1/4 power. Fired by PW2's.
