This is the "iluminated" setup for the "Minister Magenta" photo. I decided to have dinner in my Hotel in Malta, to prepare an idea that was going around my head for long.
As you see, I used 4 pilows to create a soft box.
Quite simple, cheap and effective.
More info inside the photo and in the "Setup Minister Magenta" photo.
Abrazos.
To give you an idea of how I do my layering images
here is the setup for the "T-Rex Comes to Town" composite.
shot of toy T-Rex in light box on white background
PP - cut out of T-Rex - there is no white background in the real photo
cut feet off and make reflection - two separate edits
using water scene as background
add in two lots of lightning
Add T-Rex and reflection
blend everything together
I was using my auto focus lens to take the actual shots, so I decided just to pull back and take a good setup shot as well.

alright so if you have seen the picture of the strawberry, here is the picture of the setup that went into making the shot... pretty simple, glass vase with white paper behind it (which got wet and had to be replaced 3 or 4 times) and wireless flash set up behind it to 1/32 power i believe.
