Copperware have antimicrobial properties. Copper utensils and cookware helped to prevent the spread of diseases. In many tests it showed that 99.9% of the bacteria on copper alloy surfaces (with 65% or greater copper content) were eliminated within 2 hours of exposure. According to research at Southampton University in the U.K., MRSA microbes remain alive on stainless steel surfaces for up to three days, whereas the same microbes on a copper surface are eliminated within 90 minutes.

Today it was raining hard which gave the day and the light a interesting mood. Found a nice crepe place in Pike Place Market and spend some time reading photography two very nice photography magazines (Zoom and Camera Arts). A wonderful soft light was coming thru one of the windows that had a nice brick wall in the background. I spend hours looking how the light illuminated the phases of the people placing orders. I try to capture the light with the Minox 35 with a limited level of success. I am going to start setting the Minox 35 EL one stop less than rated ISO to try to correct the consistent under exposure that prevented me from capturing the full beauty of the light.

I am so excited about this set. A friend of mine, David Clifton, whom I met about a month ago at the retreat I was on, puts on a dinner for all the homeless people in Denver. He and his volunteers can serve between 5,000 and 10,000 people on this day alone. He has been doing missions for many years and has been to 51 countries. When he asked me to photograph this event for him I was so honored. I wanted to do more, serve people food, take them to their seats, etc.... But I wanted to capture some important pictures too, as I believe these people are very special. I tried to talk to as many of them as I could, and I hope they felt that I cared about them.

Locally-brewed Reudnitzer Pils - not bad, although I prefer dark beers or wheat beers, for which you have to look a bit further afield.
