This is a garden escapee found at the top of an old disused railway embankment close to where there once used to be a signal box serving the old goods yard.
I thought that the Queen Anne's Lace was a rather elegant serving platter for the renegade verbena. It's always fun to see unexpected sights such as this.

California condors someplace along Highway 25.
Too graphic for some, and I get that. I admit that even though I know this is part of life and nature, I find it difficult to accept.
After reading about California Condors on Wikipedia, I'm not so sure that's what these are. The main reason I say that is because they say the beak is ivory colored. That doesn't seem to be the case with these. I dunno. Maybe someone of you folks can help.
The Reading & Northern “mountain job” serves Universal Forest Products in Gordon, Pennsylvania. The customer’s lumber business is located on the one-time site of the Reading locomotive facility. Gordon gained notice as the base for steam’s last stand on the Reading, when the last active T1 4-8-4’s were assigned to helper service here until 1957.
Having just finished switching the upper level of the Blommer Chocolate plant, UP 815 (an ex-MoPac GP38-2) wheels around the curve at Noble Street, Chicago, with a pretty respectable consist in tow. This job, along with the one serving the Tribune and lower level of Blommer, is the nearest freight operation to downtown Chicago these days, coming very close to Ogilvie Transportation Center / North Western Station. It originates at Proviso Yard and serves what few industries exist between there and the downtown area, before tying up in the California Avenue coach yard just west of Tower A-2.
During the Covid 19 restrictions, we were not allowed into restaurants to sit and sip our coffee. Instead, we ordered it through a window and the waiter brought out our order in a plastic cup on a silver plate

Serving War 1 is a macro photograph of a French Geranium leaf.
It is a part of a series called 'Plates'. But plates can serve up many things, and while I eat, I remember those who have been served insecurity.
About the photo:
I was out taking photographs when I saw these dried geranium leaves. It started drizzling, so I brought a lot of them home and continued the photoshoot on a light box.
NS manifest train 321 growls south not far out from its destination point of Brosnan Yard in Macon, Georgia. 321 is bound for the southernmost point on the NS system, Jacksonville, FL - truly serving the south.

Foxes, serving as messengers for Inari (the deity associated with paddy fields and other attributes), are depicted as statues marking the shrines. Narrative paintings and scrolls often feature kitsune (foxes), particularly as white foxes.
At Fushimi Inari Shrine, the kitsune sculptures make up over 25% of all fox statues found at shrines throughout Japan.
In Japanese iconography, foxes hold significant roles, ranging from cunning shape-shifters to guardians of rice and granaries. In mythology, foxes (kitsune) can be either bad (nogitsune) or good (yako or zenko), often distinguished by their colors and facial expressions in paintings.
Regarding sculptures, good foxes are typically placed at the entrances of Inari shrines, serving as guardians. These statues are often adorned with a red cloth, symbolizing the auspicious color of Inari. In contrast, bad fox statues are fewer and usually hidden in thickets or remote locations.
At the Inari shrine, a kitsune holding a key to the rice granary welcomes visitors. Its raised tail and stern expression signify its role as a guardian. The other kitsune in the pair greets visitors with a pleasant expression. Both kitsune at Fushimi Inari have one tail, while some kitsune depicted as spirits or souls in paintings have multiple tails.

Photo and blogger challenges are so rare! Tink Hax proposed a photo challenge in February for anyone willing to try to recreate a photo of their choosing from their Pinterest board. With the participants on the list, I was nervous, to say the least. But I went ahead and pushed through the nervousness, meticulously searching for items that were identical or pretty darn close to my inspo photo. Norfolk Southern local BX01 does some switching at the west end of Campbell Rd on a surprisingly sunny December Sunday. The Arcelor Mittal mill generates considerable traffic for NS. The later runs of late for this job make it an easier shot to do.
