Islamic Relief USA distributed over 3,000 food packages to the poorest Gazans including unemployed people, the disabled, female heads-of-household, orphans and the elderly.
Our client, the main image in this montage, was in the WAAFs during WW2. Her father served during WW1, and her five brothers were all members of the armed forces during WW2. Her husband, in the background image, served in the RAF until 1975.
Nine original photographs comprise this montage which brings the family together again to commemorate their service to their country. Eight of the images are fully masked from the background of the original photograph, and the ninth is utilised as a background image.

In the relatively long time in serving the nation in different capacities at both the legislative and executive branches I have come to sense the cultural bent of employees to share among themselves a few pesos here and there and buy a bilao of pancit, a medium-sized chocolate roll, a pizza and soft drinks for everyone to partake of in celebration of an event or milestone if you will.
This photo was taken on May 10, 2009 and as I was passing the end entrance of my fairly large unit to check on the media library that we had just built I noticed a small commotion just outside the modern aluminum framed door. When I went out to check, I noticed that a table laden with food was presented before me as they sang "Happy Birthday".
These surprise occasions are touching because you genuinely feel the warmth of these ordinary men and women serving the nation under your direction and the support they render to you through invaluable things such as this to keep you inspired and spirited in doing the challenging task before you. Not even a banquet at the Manila Hotel grand ballroom can equal the joy you feel while blowing the lit candle stuck not on a cake because they couldn't afford it but to a brightly colored chocolate roll from Goldilock's. It was my birthday.
