Rwandan Peacekeepers serving in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) commemorated the Rwandan Genocide in Juba, honouring the victims of the genocide in Rwanda of 1994. The ceremony was held under the theme 'Fighting Genocide Ideology'.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s message on the day noted: 'Genocide is not a single event. It is a process that takes time and preparation. History has repeatedly demonstrated that no part of the world is immune', adding that one of the key warning signs is the spread of hate speech in public discourse and the media that targets particular communities.
Speaking at the ceremony, honourable guest Peter Bashir Gbandi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for South Sudan, referred to Rwanda as the pride of Africa. 'The ways you have overcome it, I think deserve to be commended by the peace loving people all over the world. Thank you, Rwanda for what you have demonstrated. Thank you for making Rwanda a success story that we are all proud of'.
He assured attendees that: 'as we (South Sudan) inch towards the implementation of the peace agreement, we have as a country, our own share of the misfortune'.
The event was attended by, among others, Moustapha Soumare, Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General in South Sudan (Political); Major General Yohannes Gebremeskel Tesfamariam, UNMISS Force Commander; Commissioner of Police Bruce Munyambo,UN Police Commission; Ambassador Fisseha Shawel, Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to South Sudan; and leaders of the Rwandan Community in South Sudan.

Day four started in Aberdeen with breakfast at Macdonald's! Sat right under flight path by Aberdeen airport! Some interesting smaller planes and lots of helicopters (serving oil rigs) came by..
Then heading off to our B&B at Alyth by going along the A93 out of Aberdeen, which takes us over the UK's highest paved roadway! En route we passed by and called in on various castles, Drum castle, (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drum_Castle)

Then dropping across the River Dee to see the Falls of Feugh where we watched the salmon leap up the falls!

We continued on passing Dee Castle and rejoined the A93 at Ballater for a lunch stop.

From here we took a diversion at the Bridge of Gairn onto and up the A939 and back via the B976 dropping us back onto the A93 at Balmoral!
Then continuing along the A93 popping in on Braemar Castle (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braemar_Castle) before now heading up and up to reach the highest point on this road at the Glenshee Ski Center. We then continued now down and down looking for an unnamed road which would take us across the moors and hills to our next (very nice!) stop at Alyth.. Great day, great roads too!!
