U.S. Air Force Photo from October 12, 1951 -- "An Air Force Base in Korea --- M/Sgt. Arthur G. Kircher, 1504 West Washington Street, Champaign, Ill., has been assigned to the U.S. Air Force's Airways and Air Communications Service (AACS) in Korea. He is serving as historical technician-writer of the unit. The AACS has provided facilities for the safe guiding and controlling of the United Nations aircraft, since the out-break of hostilities in Korea. Navigational aids, control towers and direction finders have on numerous occasions enabled USAF aircraft to strike far behind enemy lines and return safely to their home bases despite extremely adverse weather conditions. Sgt. Kircher is the husband of Mrs. Beth A. Kircher of the above address."
