Seljalandsfoss is one of Iceland’s most famous and easily accessible waterfalls. I was hoping for better light on this visit but was pleasantly surprised by all the flora on display, and especially the carpet of cotton grass in the surrounding meadows. Thanks for stopping by.
Seljalandsfoss is one of the most iconic waterfalls in Iceland. I have seen so many photos of this place that I was very excited to see it first hand and it didn’t disappoint.
It’s definitely on my list of places to return to when I visit Iceland again (surely, I must!) and hopefully I’ll have more opportunities under different lighting conditions.

Happy Falls Friday. With Verra (local girl who happened to be visiting that day) in the photograph, you get the scale of how big this fall really is. In this version, I greened up the grass a little rather than leaving it dormant brown. Seljalandsfoss, Iceland, April 2021

The majestic and iconic cascade of Seljalandsfoss, probably the most photographed place in Iceland. Here it is shown during a spectacular sunset as the sun was disappearing over the horizon, lighting up the landscape in an enchanting warm pinkish hue. It was a magical evening, especially having this place all to myself for the last few minutes of the day before the sun disappeared. Hopefully the bridge adds a sense of scale to this almighty waterfall - it really is a sight to behold.
We took our group here at sunset hoping to get great back-light on the falls as well as some nice color in the sky. We lucked out! Myself and my equipment got very, very wet shooing this image as a strong wind kept blowing spray from the falls, soaking us all. It was F###ing awesome!!!!
The time spent in front of this wonderful waterfall waiting for the light was a real pleasure.
Walking on the path behind the waterfall is an experience that can't be missed.
Iceland is a great place!

I’m back from our travels and have lots of photo processing to do. This was our last full day in Iceland. An hour or so later, we were driving through snow.
Went with my great friend ValaRun ( www.flickr.com/photos/valarun ) and a group of other people on a photography tour. We had good weather and actually there was little or no snow. It is snowing finally here in Reykjavik tonight but we haven´t had any snow since the beginning of January. My daughter is so happy that it is finally snowing here.
The foreground in this image are ice formations that are caused by the water spray from the waterfall.
