Bigger than the last, but not the biggest waterfall in Iceland. Because there are people walking in the back of the fall you can see how tall it is.

Seljalandsfoss is a completely roundable waterfall on the south coast of Iceland with a drop of 60 meters.

The cascade of the waterfall is relatively narrow, but falls from a high cliff that once marked the coastline of the country.

The sea now stretches across a section of lowland and is visible from Seljalandsfoss.

Happy Falls Friday. Seljalandsfoss is a 220 tall fall and creates quite a bit of mist around its base. That made for a fun challenge to photograph up close. Seljalandsfoss, Iceland, April 2021

These lower volume waterfalls are next to Seljalandsfoss, a 60 meter (197 foot) watefall in South Iceland.

Cascada de Islandia que cae cerca de 60 metros en lo que en otros tiempos era una escollera sobre el océano y que hoy marca el límite entre las Tierras Altas y el resto del país.

Seljalandsfoss is one of the most famous waterfalls of Iceland. It is very picturesque and therefore its photo can be found in many books and calendars. It was a waypoint during the first leg of The Amazing Race 6.

This waterfall of the river Seljalandsá drops 60 metres (200 ft) over the cliffs of the former coastline. It is possible to go behind the waterfall.

We got to this waterfall too late and as you can see, it was already dark, and extremely COLD. Well I wanted to try and get at least one picture of it, but I didn’t have a tripod or anything. So this picture was taken long exposure with very cold hands lol, hence the lack of sharpness. Even so, I’ve always liked the way the picture came out.

Seljalandsfoss was the first waterfall we visited during our first visit to Iceland and can be fully encircled, although it was very windy when we go there and the water was blowing around everywhere so we only walked partially behind the falls. It is situated on the South Coast of Iceland with a drop of 60 meters (200 feet).

One of the most beautiful waterfalls I’ve ever had the pleasure of viewing! #iceland #nofilternecessary #iphone13pro #mothernature #iphoneography #iphoneographer #seljalandsfoss

Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, Iceland

Seljalandsfoss is an impressive 200 foot waterfall in Iceland. You can even walk behind the falls to gain a different perspective, but make sure wearing a raincoat if you explore behind the waterfalls as the wind and mist can give you a good soaking!

We were waiting for sunset with raincoat, so cold for hour's waiting, fingers were frozen, body was frozen... the camera was covered with mist even with cover on it. The sun was not come out due to the thick clouds, just a little bit of sunset light.

Seljalandsfoss is located in the South Region in Iceland right by Route 1 and the road that leads to Þórsmörk. The waterfall drops 60 m and is part of the Seljalands River that has its origin in the volcano glacier Eyjafjallajökull. Visitors can walk behind the falls into a small cave.

In August and September 2020, tourists were rare in Iceland. Luckily, at least one was in the right position to serve as a scale.

A view from behind the waterfall
