Non ero tanto convinta...ma alla fine mi spiaceva non postarla ahahaha
I'm not very sure about this shot...but in the end I preferred to publish it
Watched "American Beauty" today so decided to use a quote from that haha
I wasn't sure what to take a picture of, so I just decided to take a self-portrait sort of photo. But I was self-conscious about showing my face haha so just took a photo of my back.
I like the furniture in the apartment I'm staying it, it's so vibrant and colorful so decided to take one in here.
I live not in dreams but in contemplation of a reality that is perhaps the future.
[Rainer Maria Rilke (1875 - 1926), Selected Letters of Rainer Maria Rilke]
When you lay yourself open for others to see within, the outcome of unpredictability and dissapointment overwhelm the spirit and soul. A momentary lowering of your armour is all it takes for the damage to be done.....

My day was good. Still hot outside. I went out and within five minutes I was sweating.
At the end of a busy day Lucy and I relax and laugh our way through multiple episodes of the second series of "The Muppet Show", one of my many gifts from her.
I hope you all had a great day and look forward to 2008!
Got a new softbox, Westcott Apollo 28x28, also bought the 40 degree Grid. Set it up tonight and took some hand held self portraits, to test things out. Most of these were shot with manual setting via YN-622C, at either 1/8th power or 1/4 power, focal length set to auto

I'm doing good. It's so hot outside! I'm wearing my water retaining towel to keep me cool.
edited in Photoshop CS4.
The word person[persona] means mask[mascara], might as well.

Had a lazy 31st December - just a tiny bit of work - was not feeling well (headache mostly) and didn't leave the house. We'd decided earlier in the week that there had been so much running around that NYE we'd stay in. We did get all dressed up though for the evening and we stayed in ... I was determined not to miss midnight just because I didn't feel 100%. So we had our own little celebration - had a good dinner, watched some comedy and listened to some party music. Then lots of the houses nearby around had fireworks at the stroke of midnight. :-)
Happy New Year everyone - here's to a fab 2010!
Here are my resolutions in no particular order (in notes) above:
Be tidier
Be sillier
Get more sleep
Spend more time with my friends, family and loved ones
Eat more healthy and get to my pilates class more often
Work less hours
Print more photos in 2010
See the ocean more and go back to Portugal this year
Complete my 365
I knew the moment I got her name which shot I was going to have to copycat! My hair isn't as long therefore less dramatic but I hope that this is instantly recognisable as a tribute to her! My processing skills aren't great i have no idea how she got the coloured hue over it. However this is after all my interpretation. I think it's also my first SP.
So there was one shot during this shoot, were i atempted to do the crab on here. Wich failed, I slipped and fell on to my back, While my mum laughed at me.

I kind of had a so so day. Work felt long and I was getting crabby towards the end. I'm going back to work tomorrow. We are very busy right now.
Lately ive just been feeling like nothings going in, like the last 2 weeks have almost been a dream, well a nightmare, because im trapped like i cant do anything, i feel like things are slipping through my fingers, but i dont have the strength to catch them.
It's like the world moving on without me.
So i've started a project 52. should be enjoyable.
day nine
goggles!!! oh my god! goggles!!! why has no-one told me how great they are!!
i wore goggles swimming for the first time and i could see underwater! no more fuzzy dank light, it was wonderful and beautiful and strange. Each stroke of a swimmer left trails of tiny bubbles, the underwater joggers moved so gracefully, sunlight rippled across the floor of the dive pool, i could see my toes!! it was amazing. probably not for someone who has always been able to see underwater or knew the magical power of goggles, but for me it was another world.
now i want an underwater camera :)
It's relentless and it has to stop. Was exhausted on waking and can see it in my face (hence no face shots - me vain? Noooo!) I've got my glasses on to try to hide my dark circles.
In the office by 7:45am; took this at 7.45pm and still have a load to do. Even my PC has been off-colour - taking ages to do basic tasks. 2 reboots and it's ok again now. Can you get reboots for humans? It should start to calm down a bit after Thursday this week... please let it ... And I missed pilates/yoga AGAIN tonight. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Bad on many levels 1) Body needs it 2) Mind needs it 3) Spirit needs it 4) Working too hard 5) Paid for it Not happy about that one bit
Slight cheat today as I in a photo in a photo - LOL. Hope you will forgive me. It was as much I could muster to take the camera out of its bag.
BUT... I have just booked theatre tickets for next week - so that's something to look forward to. Oh yes and a long, long, very long lie in at the weekend.
PS It's amazing how writing down how you feel helps you get rid of the bad feeling - I am slightly refreshed now I have sent my grumblings out into the flickrverse ... Tomorrow will be a better day ...
Another attempt at a self portrait, it's much harder that I thought it would be (unless I'm just doing it wrong), oh well, I'll give it another go next week.
