I had my birthday a couple of days ago in Bali. It's quite funny that this time it didn't feel like birthday or getting older even though I really feel I've grown so much mentally during this holiday. I feel more complete and balanced than ever before. I guess now I'm even ready to return home. I could also still continue travelling, though :)
1) Upload two photos at the same time of the same subject. Which ever is the weaker one gets substantially less comments and views. We all do it, we pick the 'best' one and comment/view it.
Exams officially kicks off tonight at 7pm, I have a date with Robotics. It will be my first of 5 so after a week of looking at the same sh!t I decided to do something I don't typically do.
Setup is two SB-600. First, is in my right hand is @ 1/8 power pointed toward the back wall. Second is high right-really high right-of camera. It's on a tripod extended fully and resting on my bed. It's @ 1/16 power and fired through a snoot (my rogers bill and tape). Typical, Dave (Pah) setup. Shutter speed is cranked right to 1/800s, to ensure that the only lights seen are of my control. I had a small light [computer monitor] on so I could still see what I was doing.
Defiantly need to view on black.

My day was good. Work was good too. After work I went out with my supervisor, manager, and a friend from accounting. We had wings!
playing with lighting and stuff in bed last night. jazz hands came to mind, as well as "fosse, fosse, fosse..."
tonight I learned something. you want water to stand out, overexpose it by throwing it towards the flash. something I should have figured out awhile ago? maybe, but I know it now haha. not the best splash I took, but the spiral is sweet.
strobist: 2 canon flashes camera left and right. both at 1/2 power. one high, one low.
I had the car all packed up with my gear this afternoon and drove to the top of a local Welsh mountain to test out a portable softbox. Wind was insane so had to drive back down without getting a single shot! Gutted ;( So I decidd to pay a visit to see my Sister, settling for a shoot at her ranch ;{)

What's Movember?
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.
This is a 50 second exposure but obiously I was only in it part of the time. Someone has to click the shutter button.
So week one down.. was quite a shock to the system getting used to 8:30am mornings, typing in long sleeve button shirts and having bloodthirsty traders bellowing across a football size room but hey... i survived and still had the energy to upload pictures on flickr this weekend so can't be all that bad ;)
