Got a new softbox, Westcott Apollo 28x28, also bought the 40 degree Grid. Set it up tonight and took some hand held self portraits, to test things out. Most of these were shot with manual setting via YN-622C, at either 1/8th power or 1/4 power, focal length set to auto
Ok I need to honour a TAG. My dear Sweetie pie Rhythm tagged me a few days back and I cannot postpone this any further :D

2. I am a huge fan of Mithun da and Jitender ( specially the Himmatwalla times movies). Amitabh is God and Rajesh Khanna totally hilarious ...
3. I love the smell of Ashtray ( ok i dnt smoke nor do i like people to smoke around me but i do love the smell of ash in the ashtray .. am i sane? )
4. I once failed in drawing when i was in Kindergarden. I drew a sun instead of an egg in a haystack. ...later I went on to win the district level painting competetion later on in school ..... thats me :D
5. I love Karela and can it eat morning , noon and night.
6. My fav color is black and red .. both strong colors

8. I love dancing ( i know what my size its quiet difficult to imagine me dancing but I have been on stage since school and have even choreographed numbers.
9. I have a decent voice and I love singing and humming in office. There is also a wierd rumour doing the rounds of the dept that I participated in Indian Idol Auditions ( I didnt i swear .. else I wud have won ;))
10. I am a jack of most trades but master of none. I have a very short attention span when it comes to hobbies. I started making a sweater for Dad when I was in school but lost interest before I even completed the sleeves. I did try the chain stitch but didnt even complete one full handkerchief. I know sand painting, glass painting but never did make more than one wall hanging :D ....i can go on and on and on....
11. I use the "Bit**" word with almost everyone... male or female. Most often repeated words would be Maa Kasam , Wellll.,,hmmm.. hmmm.. hmmm.... nahinnnnnn.... :D
12. My best friend and i havent met for the past 2 yrs and rarely talk on the phone. but we r still the best of friends and the time nor distance doesnt matter to us . Thats me again.. i can love u across the seven seas and the deserts included :P
13. I love chocolates but i rarely buy my own .., i try to keep the guilt away by justifying that since it was given by someone I should eat it and honour the person ..hehe
14. I was very attached to my Father and was a pucca Daddy's Girl but I am more like my mother in looks, temperaments ...
15. I have written an autobiography when in B School and its titled " A quarter bottle of vodka and I "
16. The last one? Phew !! I love tulips ( so u know what to give me to woe me over )

Lights go down, it’s dark
The jungle is your head
Can’t rule your heart
A feeling is so much stronger than
A thought
Your eyes are wide
And though your soul
It can’t be bought
Your mind can wander
Hello hello
I’m at a place called Vertigo
It’s everything I wish I didn’t know
Except you give me something I can feel, feel
The night is full of holes
As bullets rip the sky
Of ink with gold
They twinkle as the
Boys play rock and roll
They know they can’t dance
At least they know….
I can’t stand the beats
I’m asking for the cheque
The girl with crimson nails
Has Jesus round her neck
Swinging to the music
Swinging to the music
Oh oh oh oh
Hello hello
I’m at a place called Vertigo
It’s everything I wish I didn’t know
But you give me something I can feel, feel
Check mated
Oh yeah
Hours of fun…
All of this, all of this can be yours
All of this, all of this can be yours
All of this, all of this can be yours
Just give me what I want and no-one gets hurt….
Hello hello
We’re at a place called Vertigo
Lights go down and all I know
Is that you give me something
I can feel your love teaching me how
Your love is teaching me how, how to kneel…
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
U2

Well this is one of the first shots to come out of my newly infra-red converted A100.
I have also written a tutorial on how to do it and it starts here:

I really hope this will get other people to get their old cameras out of the closet and start doing some IR photography because it rocks.

My day was good. Work seemed like it went its normal pace. Not too fast and not too slow.

16 facts about me
1. I'm a mom to two beautiful little boys. Camden turned 3 in October and Benjamin turned 1 in August.
2. I've been married to my best friend for 5 years next month. February 14th to be exact. Don't get married on Valentine's Day...going out for your anniversary is nearly impossible.
3. I have the BEST family I could ever ask for. Especially my parents and inlaws.
4. I use to have a great memory. not anymore! I think I lost at least half when I had my last baby.
5. I have baby fever and have been trying to convince my hubby to knock me up.....that's not going so well. ;)
6. I'm a stay at home mom. But, it wasn't planned that way originally. My old boss thought it would be fun to lay me off the week I was due back from my maternity leave with Camden. Which happened to be a week before Christmas. I'm glad it happened though. Otherwise, we may not have found a way for me to be a SAHM.
7. I love doing photography for my clients. But I hate the business side of things (money, deadlines, etc).
8. I moved back to my hometown a little over a year ago. Sometimes I miss living really close to a bigger city.
9. I want to lose about 50lbs (yikes!). That was my one and only New Years Resolution. and I've been doing really well ;)
10. I use to smoke a pack a day. I quit over 2 years ago (I quit while pregnant with Cam, and then started up when he was 2 months old and quit about 2 months before finding out I was preggo w/ Ben). Matt quit the same day as I did. Now I can't stand smoking around me at all.
11. I use to play the flute and was pretty good at it. I miss it sometimes. I also use to sing in chorus and loved it. Now I'm too self conscience to sing in front of other people.
12. I LOVE coffee.
13. I probably send too much time on the computer messing with pictures, talking on my mom's board and goofing off on Flickr.
14. I sometimes miss being a teen with no care in the world. But I wouldn't give up what I have now.
15. I wish we made a little more money, but who doesn't?
16. I love being a photographer. And if it wasn't for me being laid off after having camden, I wouldn't have found the time or energy to peruse it.
I'll be back to tag others later.
I took a day off today to prepare for a job interview. I was researching stuff on the net but after a couple of hours I found myself procrastinating. My motivation was flagging, so I decided to take a break.
The motivation behind this shot was the light. It's motivated light, which means that there are light sources in the picture that appear to explain where the light is coming from.
Except they don't. This is actually lit by two speedlights off camera. The main light, that looks as though it's coming from the overhead lamp, is coming from an SB800 high on a lightstand to camera left, gelled full CTO and flagged front and back to keep light from spilling onto the wall in the bg or too far into the foreground.
The light that looks as though it comes from the window is from an SB600 with a gridded snoot on a stand camera right, just by the arm of the sofa. Both strobes were fired by Nikon CLS.
And for why? Meh, it's something to do. (And it gives me total control over the lighting.)
My family gave me a Canon Rebel Xti for my birthday yesterday!! I was very surprised. :)
My mom said they only had silver, but if I wanted black we could excange it. What do you guys think?

I had a good day at work. I think my body is starting to get used to standing all day. Tomorrow is Friday and I'm happy.
