We haven’t been going out secondhand shopping much as most of our trips involve dropping things off to donate. We have been looking for some furniture items so we’ve had to stop out here and there. Today we found these two homemade actual wood shelves and while the color isn’t ideal, we’re going to dig around in our paint stores and repaint them tomorrow. We also found three small corner selves, also homemade, and we’re using two as speaker stands for our stereo and one on the stairs. We got all 5 pieces of furniture for less than $40. I also found this incredible hand stitched quilt. I fully plan on picking the blanket apart and using the fabric on a skirt idea I’ve been sourcing vintage fabric for. We also got this dish and mug, they won’t be for eating/drinking with but I have some ideas.

A little known fact about me is that I love Second Hand Shops. There is one down the street from where I live and I love to go and shop around. I came across this little beauty in a box full of other cameras and I picked it up for just a buck =) I have no idea if it works though, I haven't picked up any 600 film yet.

A selecton of Photos from my Second Hand Fashion shoot that I had back in 2011. All the clothing in these photos are second hand.

just in time, i finished my remodel of this 14-year-old little colorado kitchen i found on craigslist. getting the paint bright red, non-toxic and still translucent was quite a challenge last minute, but i ended up getting some great help. pancake loves it :) you can see the "before" here: www.flickr.com/photos/swrenpics/4196233267/

July 2014. I wanted everything!

A contender - but no decision made.

I received an email from my local outdoor outfitter store that they were having a sale on wooden hangers. 50 cents each, 5 for $2.25 or 50 for $20. WHAT A GREAT DEAL. Time to replace those plastic ones I hate and that have been breaking. I love finding secondhand bargains!

All of the coloring was done on my daily commute using old markers.

Calls itself Livres and does sell books but is more like a squat. Quite dark inside (no electricity), quite filthy, and stinks of piss. The most disgusting shop I've ever been in - two seconds inside was enough for me - though there may be worse bookshops elsewhere.
