This is a nice bookshop off the main road into Springdale, Utah and Zion National Park. I enjoyed shopping here and both Brian and I bought a couple of books.

There are seven of these mahogany thingies so you can make a really big one.
Criminally cheap, next to nothing!
The packaging is great too :-)
Se Hanne, hvad synes du om den her?
Alas, I didn't have either camera handy when I found this unexpected gaggle of dolls at Taber Furniture in North Sacramento, so I had to snap this with my I.Q.32 phone.
Maybe I'll revisit them soon with a real camera and get a crisper, clearer shot.
The painted singing (yawning?) lady one is one of the few things I have from my grandmother's house. The blue one was thrifted later.
Such a cold day and my new winter coat that I have ordered is on a 2-4 week delivery! So instead I am keeping warm by layering. At least my new snood has turned up.

My beloved Arne Jacobsen chairs, also found at a local flea market. The lamp is an old Bumling and the table and clock is IKEA.
A laurel made from secondhand sheets and lace.
Here in Benin, old lace tablecloth/curtains are used everywhere: hairnets, coverings for food so flies don’t come in, privacy curtains at doors and windows, and more.
What I enjoy more is buying the lace. In the US, we throw out things that are in perfectly good condition, but where do they actually go? One answer is Africa, where our unwanted stuff is resold in piles on the streets here. It’s fun to “thrift” for the fabric here and then make something out of materials originally destined for the trash.
I bought a lace sheet and a curtain sheet to line it with, however since the lace was already heavy this dress is very thick and more suited for winter. I finished the edges with bias tape facing & added pockets because they’re just too useful to leave out.
I wrote more in my sewing journal here: cathywu.com/journal/treadling/2013/04/14/secondhand-lace-...

My favorite shop in Nagoya. Everything from Nintendo Famicom (NES) and Sega Master System up to Dreamcast, PS2 and XBox 360, including obscure crap like PC-Engine and FM Towns.
This system was installed in 2025 as a secondhand unit from 2019. I believe that this system originated from jet Doncaster where it was short-lived. This site offers reasonably priced programs for MFG bronze £5.99 gold £6.99 platinum £7.99 with the car wash club. The previous system here was a beautiful red Istobal M12+ from 2009 that I photographed and filmed in 2020 the original system here from my childhood was California Rohe C38. Overall this site has improved massively since MFG took over and they offer quite a nice system with reasonable prices and overall decent washing quality. maps.app.goo.gl/f57LYit4NMEUXbHV9?g_st=com.google.maps.pr...
