Pony Ride, Pursimiehenkatu 17. Upscale vintage shop in Punavuori, focusing on dresses but also has a lovely selection of hats, purses, shoes and cloaks/coats.
One of my favorite bookstores, which closed in 2008 is now open again. The combination of books and a nice cafe makes this a great place to hangout in the Greenwood neighborhood of Seattle

RM429 was new in 1960 and spent much of its life at Highgate. In this view, it has become GM Buses 2207 and displays Piccadilly Line branding for Wilmslow Road corridor services at Cobham in 1991. The bus subsequently passed to Rotherham & District and Ensign before starring in the film 102 Dalmations in the year 2000
This is a nice bookshop off the main road into Springdale, Utah and Zion National Park. I enjoyed shopping here and both Brian and I bought a couple of books.

There are seven of these mahogany thingies so you can make a really big one.
Criminally cheap, next to nothing!
The packaging is great too :-)

Alas, I didn't have either camera handy when I found this unexpected gaggle of dolls at Taber Furniture in North Sacramento, so I had to snap this with my I.Q.32 phone.
Maybe I'll revisit them soon with a real camera and get a crisper, clearer shot.
The painted singing (yawning?) lady one is one of the few things I have from my grandmother's house. The blue one was thrifted later.
I can't resist a charity shop and popped in to one tonight on the way to meet the wife after work. I found these 2 lenses a Tamron 80-210 with an Adaptall 2 Contax mount and a Tokina 28-70 with a M42 screw mount. I am sure I will find something to do with them.
A laurel made from secondhand sheets and lace.
Here in Benin, old lace tablecloth/curtains are used everywhere: hairnets, coverings for food so flies don’t come in, privacy curtains at doors and windows, and more.
What I enjoy more is buying the lace. In the US, we throw out things that are in perfectly good condition, but where do they actually go? One answer is Africa, where our unwanted stuff is resold in piles on the streets here. It’s fun to “thrift” for the fabric here and then make something out of materials originally destined for the trash.
I bought a lace sheet and a curtain sheet to line it with, however since the lace was already heavy this dress is very thick and more suited for winter. I finished the edges with bias tape facing & added pockets because they’re just too useful to leave out.
I wrote more in my sewing journal here: cathywu.com/journal/treadling/2013/04/14/secondhand-lace-...
