Brandy shredded up pieces of the original 20 thrift store album covers and created this new psychedelic collage cover.
The Triotar 135 mm f4, Carl Zeiss Jena, M42 mount.
The Triotar is composed of only three lenses: one positive, one negative lenses followed by a diaphragm, then by a positive lens. (I guess the four reflected light source images that can be seen in this picuture come from the four lens-air interfaces of the two front lenses. Is this guess correct?)
Former Southern Vectis TDL 420S is here with Caroline Seagull in Gt Yarmouth, taken in Aug 89, its seen with a Midland Fox picking up on the lay by after a day trip. TDL 420S was one of a small batch of Bedfords with Dominant coachwork purchased by NBC in the late 70's.
One of those funny old baskets made with paper pictures, covered with plastic and woven together at the sides with plastic cord. What are they called? What era are they from? Anyone?
Grantham is hardly the most lucrative bus territory but Centrebus was updating the fleet with some judicious secondhand purchases.
BU16UWP is an Volvo B8RLE/MCV Evolution 2 that was new to Roberts Travel for Leicester Park and Ride; it later moved from Centrebus to Chaserider. Meanwhile e400 SN13CHZ was a former Yellow Buses machine that Centrebus purchased after that business failed. Grantham bus station is an underwhelming location.
Not the most flattering shot, but I was too hungry to care. Today was my day off, so I spent it doing the grocery shopping our Thanksgiving feast. Hooray cranberries! Consequently I wanted to wear something comfy and warm. While I was tempted to schlub around in workout pants and one of hubby's sweatshirts, I decided to steal his new scarf instead. I love the way the shades of green look together.

We haven’t been going out secondhand shopping much as most of our trips involve dropping things off to donate. We have been looking for some furniture items so we’ve had to stop out here and there. Today we found these two homemade actual wood shelves and while the color isn’t ideal, we’re going to dig around in our paint stores and repaint them tomorrow. We also found three small corner selves, also homemade, and we’re using two as speaker stands for our stereo and one on the stairs. We got all 5 pieces of furniture for less than $40. I also found this incredible hand stitched quilt. I fully plan on picking the blanket apart and using the fabric on a skirt idea I’ve been sourcing vintage fabric for. We also got this dish and mug, they won’t be for eating/drinking with but I have some ideas.
Blogged with scans from inside.
Added: this one I bought off of ebay, super cheap after thrifting the other.
I started collecting cupless saucers because they had nice patterns on them, and without the cups, they are also cheap.
No info on the back of this plate!
Despite my really brown thumb, I bought a bunch of plants to "spring-up" the place. this is my favorite. It's a 4-foot long hanging "string of bananas".
It feels like saturday. Very hot in San Diego today.
I felt like documenting a few of the cute things I picked up while thrifting/antiquing/rummaging in March/April.
Bill Campbell's Second Hand Books, which has loads of Penguins and Pelicans in stock. Had a nice long chat with the Finnish lady looking after the place.
