Stamped May, 1978. I haven't figured the location out yet, but there are also tanks on display in other shots; it seems to be from the same trip as a visit to George Washington's Mount Vernon. Possibly the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland...

Frame is stamped "Oct 69." For one reason or another I've seen very few African Americans in the secondhand slides I've bought on eBay. There are all sort of points in the ownership chain that might/not explain this.
Most of the Colwyn Bay fleet were ancient open-top trams single and double-deckers. However, 23 and 24 were the only closed-top trams. Built by English Electric in 1936, they were quite modern-looking and were bought secondhand in 1948 from Darwen Corporation (Blackburn Lancashire) after the system closed in October 1946. Crosville Wales inherited a number of ECW bodied Leyland Olympians from the parent Crosville fleet when it was first formed in August 1986. Subsequently many secondhand examples were acquired. DOL402 (YWX 402X) an ONTL11/1R fitted with Northern Counties H43/28F came from South Yorkshire (102), Pontefract. Here it is seen in Caernafon on October 15th 1997.

Not really a jigsaw puzzle but with 160 pieces, very similar in its construction to Ravensburger's range of globes and models of famous buildings that Mike likes to assemble.
At £2 it was well worth a punt when I saw it on sale at Malvern Flea Fair, so I thought I'd have a go. It was still sealed which was a bonus, and proved to be very easy to make. Supplied with a waterproof liner and a stand, it looks pretty impressive when finished, although I'll send it to the charity shop for someone else to enjoy.

Cardiff Bus have recently acquired 12 10-year old Mercedes Citaros, to add to the existing fleet of 40 similar machines. They've come from Bus Vannin, Isle of Man and are currently being fitted out and sprayed into a revised fleet livery. The fleet numbers will be 141 - 152 with their new UK registrations currently being sorted at the DVLA.
Shown is ex. Bus Vannin 211 (KMN-211-L) still wearing the livery of it's previous owner. They will replace the Enviro 300's, 701-706 & 711-716, which were new in 2004.

While my presentation was original, most of this outfit is secondhand. The only new items were the bag strap and tights.
I love it that I can find secondhand clothing that I’m proud and happy to wear. I stood up in front of a crowd today to deliver a presentation and felt like a million bucks.
Jacket, Dries Van Noten (swap). Dress, Parker (consignment). Boots, swap. Necklace and bag, thrifted.
This ex-New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway SD70M has a new lease on life after being purchased by Norfolk Southern in 2014. NS bought all three of NYSW's SD70Ms which had been sitting in storage; after repairs and a new coat of paint they were released into service in 2015. Here NS 2797 hustles intermodal train 202 east on the Lurgan Branch.
