Organiser of the Sci-F-London Film Festival Louis Savy isn't immune... but still manages to promote his programme!
"Each Warrior wants to leave the mark of his will, his signature, on important acts he touches. This is not the voice of ego but of the human spirit, rising up and declaring that it has something to contribute to the solution of the hardest problems, no matter how vexing!"

Saturday was an amazing day! I was given the opportunity to assist wedding photographer and art director of The Wedding Magazine Julia Ford and her husband, Nikon award winning photographer, Ian West with a fake wedding at the Dominion Theatre, London. Thank you guys!

I realised how badly I need a wider angle lens and I think a 24-70mm f2.8 would be just perfect. Also saving for a 5D markII, I'm fed up with all the noise I get as soon as I go beyond ISO400. Hopefully I will have both by Christmas :)

Any of you who know me, or have kept up with my 365 project, know I love the Zelda. I often imagine myself as Link and walk around my apartment wielding a makeshift Master Sword , slaying the evil minions of Ganon.

After exiting administration, Farnborough FC were able to start their season today with a home fixture against Dover Athletic.
They thought they were ahead after being awarded a penalty in the second half, only to see Dover keeper Mitch Walker pull off the save of the day
It was nice to get out to the beach with some beautiful friends for a fun shoot this weekend showcasing Kaitlynd Zimmer's jewelry collection. See the rest of her stuff here: www.asetdesign.com

Missouri City firefighters discuss safety measures at a recent public safety event.
As part of their life-saving prevention programs, Missouri City Fire & Rescue Service has created a "Home Fire Safety Survey" to help residents safeguard their homes.
The survey is one the department's key initiatives launched this month as firefighters participate in Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 3 through Oct. 9.
The program is designed to identify potential risks that may exist and to educate homeowners on ways to protect their homes. Residents can schedule appointments for firefighters to conduct a free in-home inspection of a room or an entire house. The survey is designed to heighten citizens' awareness and to educate them about potential safety hazards. Firefighters will recommend actions to eliminate the hazards and there is no enforcement component of the program.
"Saving lives through prevention is one of our main goals and the home is where most fires occur," said Fire Chief Russell Sander. "The new survey is an important tool that people can use to protect their families and their homes."
In addition to the survey, Sander also reminds residents to remember these tips to secure their homes:
*Check your Smoke Alarms
Smoke rises, so smoke alarms should be located on a ceiling or high on a wall. Test your alarms monthly and ensure a smoke detector is installed on each level of your home and inside each bedroom. Replace alarms that are older than 10 years and replace any alarm that has been painted over. Change the batteries when you change the clocks for Daylight Savings Time (Nov. 7).
*Make Extinguishers Handy
Make sure that you have at least one or more fire extinguishers in your home. Check the gauge located on the extinguisher to see if it needs to be replaced or recharged. Also be sure that the fire extinguisher is in an easily accessible location. Remember that fire extinguishers are not designed to fight large or spreading fires.
*Talk Prevention with Your Kids
Talk to your kids about how they can prevent fires. Discuss an escape plan for the whole family to exit the home safely. Teach your children to never play with matches, lighters, candles, electrical cords or sockets. Also, let them know to "stop, drop and roll" if their clothes catch on fire.
*Avoid Overloading Sockets and Cords
Take a walk-through of your home. If you see sockets with too many cords plugged in or even too many extension cords around the house, have extra outlets installed by a professional. Always pay attention to the acceptable wattage for cords and lamps. Also, look for extension cords that are "tacked up" or run under a rug as these could be a real fire hazard for kids and adults.

This injured snail crawled on the pavement and was at risk of being stepped upon. I took a photo of it, picked it up and moved the snail into a nearby garden, where it will be safe.

This is the little hummingbird I saved a couple of days ago.
The Story behind this photo:
Yesterday morn I let our two cats out to let them eat in peace before letting the dogs out of their crates. After about a half an hour, I finally went to get the dogs. But I heard fluttering in the skylight on our back porch. The cats were watching intently & as I approached, I saw a tiny green hummingbird frantically beating himself against the top of the skylight. I grabbed up the cats, threw them in the garage. I went and got a kitchen chair and dish towel ... thinking that I might just throw it over the bird and capture him. But standing wobbly-legged on the chair, I decided that wasn't such a great idea after all. Then I got a bright idea. I remembered that there were some fallen branches out in our yard. So I grabbed a long stick with twigs on the end and ran back to the porch. I carefully stuck it up into the skylight where the poor bird was still fluttering away. Immediately, the exhausted hummer latched onto a twig & I slowly lowered him down and out over the railing. I placed the stick in the top of a rhododendron bush. He sat there for at least five minutes (while I happily photographed him) before flying away. Had I let the dogs out earlier, I would have never noticed that little hummer and surely he would dropped down out of sheer exhaustion and become a tasty morsel for one of my patient cats or a play toy for our dogs.
