...the first pair of felted slippers I ever made have been in the back of my closet for the past few years with holes too big to easily repair.
Today I sewed some leather soles on them so I can wear them for a few more years. They're ugly and old, but they're warm and now wearable!

Co-worker gave me few raw files from his vacation to play with. I though this was well composed and gave me a feeling like I was there. I just though it could use some work.
"Don't forget your reusable grocery bags. Together we can save our planet one bag at a time."
I'm all for reusable bags, but we need to keep this particular gesture in perspective. It is not enough to save the planet. Follow this link for some thoughts on what more might be required.

On Sunday afternoon I spent some time cutting all the seed heads off of my dark purple columbine. I ended up with thousands upon thousands of seeds, way more than I need. I sprinkled some along the edges of the woods where I want to get them started and I saved a few for my mom. Since I have so many extra seeds, I figured I’d give some away.

Greenpeace campaigners in London joined forces with a samba band outside the Brazilian Embassy to save the Amazon rainforest. They hoisted a banner saying Save the Amazon and the band played for the embassy staff. The activists were part of a worldwide effort which saw similar activities take place around the world, including Paris, Rome, Berlin, Mexico City and Washington DC. These global activities are aimed to remind Brazils President Dilma Rousseff that almost 80 per cent of Brazilians want the Amazon protected.

The expression on our Golden Retriever, Misty's face is priceless. She didn't approve of this tree-holding-up business at all.
Pam died of complications from diabetes on October 16, 2018. She was 62 years old.
RIP, my Wonder Woman! You are already missed more than you would ever have imagined.

5:30 am came all to soon this morning, on my third early rise in a row the hours shift for daylight saving was not too welcome.
Low light photography is obviously not the iPhone's strong point, but the exposure is good, and the noise, off which there is rather a lot, makes for an interesting painterly effect.

This one came out much better since I took the "no sun" into account. I used my friend's campfire hearth for a cave setting. I wanted it to look like a habitat for a "wild" and undomesticated Rancor. And like usual...R2 is running off leaving captive C3P0 behind...

One of the biggest advantages to watch a movie on DVD at home is due to the ever rising prices of movie tickets. "Moviegoers can prepare to dig a little deeper into their pockets when they want to see another picture.
Starting Friday, ticket prices at a number of theaters across the country will rise as theater owners try to cash in on a booming box office and healthy demand for 3-D movies like "Avatar" and "Alice in Wonderland" (CBSNews.com, March 2010). Attending a movie at a theater used to be one of biggest American pastimes, but now with the ever-increasing prices, people will choose to stay home. "While the price increases could boost theater owners' already buoyant revenues, some industry watchers think the could also spark a consumer backlash. Studios, theater operators and trade groups have long touted films as a bargain, compared with other forms of entertainment, intensifying their pitch during the recession" (Lauren A.E. Schuker & Ethan Smith, March 2010, Wall Street Journal). Although the recent popularity of 3-D movies is great, it is reflecting on the prices of regular 2-D movies, therefore one might argue that it would be worth it to wait for its DVD release.
First time in my life that summertime period make something real to me. And I think that it starts early in 80s.
Now, I can show the small city at high plateau without to carry a tripod all the day around for a few long exposure shots at night.
