I was digging in my stash for some embroidery fabric when I came across some more of my old samplers .These were done doing the NSW Embroiderers Guild distance courses.I did all except the gold embroidery course,was over seas working that year.

I had this and my other sampler washed and pressed and rolled up in a tube. My partner found them in our attic about two years after we moved (2002), so I got them framed and they now hang on our living room wall, either side of the fireplace.

About 12x11 inches

As you can see, this one was finished in about 1995 :@)

Chloe was very kindly given a Lomo Action Sampler and some film by some friends on Talkphotography and couldn't wait to test it out. She needs to work on her finger placement but on the whole I reckon she did well :0)

A UK company informed me that I won a montly drawing of free tea. When it arrived it definitely appeared that customs had been all up in it.

Designed by Hillside Samplings. Stitched on R&R 30-Count Light Espresso with all the recommended floss. Close up of right side.

hmm... I know the middle 3 are the Sumbel Porter, Ægir India Pale Ale, and Rallar Amber Ale from left to right. I believe the far left is the Saison and the far right is the Altbier, but I had had quite a few by this point, so it's hard to remember now... The IPA was my favorite, though. Unfortunately all my favorites weren't available bottled at the time.

progress on my 2013 woodland sampler

closer sideways angle. i would make this again, but it either all one color in gray heather, oatmeal, denim blue, or all different more intense colors.

I would also change from a "J" hook down to "I" to slightly increase the weight and close up the stiches a bit more. as it is, most stitch patterns came out soft and with excellent drape.

I'm so glad I signed up for the Polka and Bloom embroidery class. Some of the stitches were familiar to me, but some are new! Here's my collection of them so far! (I put them on a home dec fabric sample from a discontinued, thrifted sample book.)
