Brownie Sampler

This tray of brownies was created by Bakers Man for a celebration where I work. "Lines" are always interesting in photos, especially when its food! I only ate one...(Ha!)

The cursive letter "A a" is hand embroidered and rests on machine stitched notebook paper-inspired lines. All this cuteness is done on a beautiful natural cotton and the other side is fabric I designed and had printed by Spoonflower on a wonderful linen/cotton blend. The lining is red polka dot cotton and the zipper is black. This pouch also features a brown ribbon handle.

These 3 bold fabrics work great together!

This zipper pouch is my own pattern, wider at the base makes it roomier inside. It measures 6" wide and 5" high.

My blocks for the Mod Sampler Quilt Along! I'm using Daisy Chain fabrics and the "Mist" solid from Amy Butler! The rest of block C are coming... I did the "easy" ones first :)

Designed by Needle's Prayse. Completed in 2002.

The stole is being knit with 2.5 mm Inox coated needles and using "Gentle" from Yarn Place

6 different threadings and 36 different treadlings.

My mini group made star blocks. My quilt using the blocks.

This sampler was stitched as a gift for my parents when they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and was my first endeavor into hardanger and pulled thread embroidery. The roses embellishing the heart at the top are created with ribbon embroidery. This sampler is not for the faint of heart! I needed the patient guidance of my local cross stitch shop to help me make the first cut after having spent many hours stitching. Still makes my palms sweat to think about it!

Made with the May 2011 kit from The Sampler.

Sampler's only around at Cristmas time. Image from Seventy Years of the Garden Factory by Warwick Johnston. 2008. Book in my collection.

Strange doing this one after the last few with 100 and 102 pieces in each!!

Wasn't happy with my replacement for 'Borrow and Return' block and seeing as I can see a basket block in the original quilt decided make one. I am going to use my ' Borrow and Return' for the label on the back and I have a use for my first replacement block!! My thanks go to Cheryl for her comment on that block which made me rethink my choice!

This sampler is an Irish Shamrock sampler. I stitched it while our youngest daughter was very much into Irish music -- she plays Irish flute. It features a sterling silver shamrock charm hanging in the center of the heart. I loved the design by the Sweetheart Tree.

Work in progress, nearing the halfway mark. 400 stitches in Jaeger Roma yarn in my stash knit-down effort. From "Folk Shawls" by Cheryl Oberle. It is really soft and I look forward to having it off the needles and blocked to see the full lace effect.

My design for a mini Valentine sample

One of the traditions of home show weekend... Eric and I take the Friday night shift and stay over in Williamsport and open the booth at 10am the next morning. Friday night when we're done, we go out to the Bullfrog Brewery and have a burger and Eric drinks some good beer. This was a really interesting sampler. The brewery is starting to focus on organic brews and some of these were really different.... like the Double Coffee Stout... which uses 12 pounds of free trade coffee.... and tastes ... like... Coffee! There was also a west coast pilsner that Eric loved and an apricot beer that Eric didn't finish.
