This is one of the first paintingsI did in the childhood series and was painted over a few months when I was ill. I tried to do one little figure each day which gave me a real sense of having at least done something. The figures are all based on my childrens drawings.

This is a birth sampler pattern I stitched as a wedding sampler. "Heirloom Birth Sampler" from The Victoria Sampler, designed by Thea--an amazing designer! I stitched this band sampler on linen using a variety of stitch techniques in colors to match Val's wedding selection..
Materials included pearl cottons, silks, metallic threads, silk ribbon, and seed beads. Stitching included silk embroidery (leaves and roses), eyelets, hardanger, back stitching, an assortment of pulled stitches with and without cutting.
Whitman's is one of America's largest and oldest brands of boxed chocolates. Whitman's confections have been produced since 1842, originally by Stephen Whitman in Philadelphia and currently by Russell Stover Candies. The Whitman's Sampler, an assortment of boxed chocolates, is still popular.

This traditional 'blackwork' sampler records some more contemporary pastimes provided by social networking and web 2.0. See if you can recognise all the 'logos' at the top.
This sampler isn't quite finished yet, but there will be seven QR codes in total, inter-linked. You can see from the corner squares where they will be, and I will upload a finished photograph shortly.

This reminds me of a croched square or a square for a quilt.
2 'skeinlets' in this fiber sampler pack!
Both are pure soft & squishy merino wool fleece; one is left a natural white-ecru, the other has been hand painted with eco-friendly dyes with beautiful shades of greens and blues.

A hilltop house towering above a yard of animals is a common stylistic element on samplers from Burlington County, New Jersey. The many birds found on this sampler suggest that the work is an homage to spring. This is accentuated by the bright green grass in the foreground, budding flowers and short verse mentioning the season.

YAY! Natalie is so nice and rad and posted about her media sampler to the CRAFT blog! You can read the post at this link: www.craftzine.com/blog/archive/2007/03/the_samplers_goodi...
Long term new project that I am looking forward to start.

Assisi Peacock Sampler by Giulia Punti Antichi. This is being done on natural Belfast linen, with TG Silk 'n Colors (Royalty, Midnight Cobalt & Summer Tan) & Au Ver A Soie dAlger (Antique Dark Blue). I've left out the drawn work that comes before the lettering until the end. I've wanted to do this project for ages, due to my Italian roots, and my nonna's first name is Giulia. :-)
ETA: Hasn't been touched since 2005! :-(
