After ALOT of research (and help from the flickr Photoshop Support Group) I can colorize my stuff. I love the black and white, but sometimes and I want to play and this was the result of my first one.

sashed scraps - tutorial found here:

I have a lot of troubles with scrappy quilting (way too type A for it to come naturally), but this went way better than normal! I think sashing the scraps helped because I didn't need to make very large scrappy sections. At one point I took two sections, cut them each in half-ish, and sewed them to each other to help break up the block. Love the result!

Here's the set - and proof that different manufacturers don't make things the same color! The ground fabric is all called "cream"....

Sampler afghan, blocks designed by Polly Plum.

I love this blanket pattern, mostly because it’s easy to carry around with me since it’s all little blocks.

I may change my mind once I get to the part where I have to join them all together :)

I made these blocks with the Camp Follower Quilt Along. I needed something to use as I learned how to use a long arm machine and chose to put a few of these blocks together. Loads of fun! (Both the blocks and the quilting).

Wednesday 23 April 2014: Millennium Sampler #7

This is the 7th section of the Millennium Sampler that I finished stitching on 1st January 2000. It depicts Sir Isaac Newton discovering gravity and the building of St Paul's Cathedral by Sir Christopher Wren.

Isaac Newton was supposedly sitting under an apple tree when he observed an apple fall to the ground. It started him thinking about how the apple, which had no acceleration while it was attached to the tree, could suddenly gain acceleration and fall to the ground. And so he developed The Universal Law of Gravitation.

Sir Christopher Wren's masterpiece, St Paul's Cathedral, took 35 years to complete. It is well loved by Londoners and visitors alike. During the Blitz of the Second World War incendiary bombs destroyed much of London but fire wardens and volunteers stood defiant and refused to let St Paul's be destroyed. They worked tirelessly to put out every little fire that started on the dome and managed to prevent it from going the way of many of London's other buildings
