It's taken me a while to finish off this scene. So much going on in RL before Christmas. I finally put the finishing touches to the scene yesterday and feel really happy with the cosy Christmas scene. As we anticipate removing decorations by 12th night, it's good to reflect on how this hectic holiday season affects us all.

The Rustic Tavern is a family-owned bar that gets raves for cheap drinks from customers. The Rustic Tavern was chosen in the July 2010 issue of Madison Magazine as the Favorite Neighborhood Bar in Madison! This blocked-corner building was constructed in 1933 with residential upstairs and commercial down below. The outside of it bears two backlit plastic signs.

Found this rustic village home in one of the islands nearby Hong Kong.
Stood the test of time. Lady inside didn't mind me taking the pic. She may be busy cooking dinner......
That afternoon I walked along a track that initially led to a different river beach and later went a little more inland. In spite of very sunny weather there was very little to see apart from on the beach.
I saw very few of these on the trip and am pleased to have a photo of one with wings open.
Odd circular steel shingles on barn roof. Apparently the tops of some sort of canisters, possibly trash or surplus.

Update: Theses are the tops from 200 pound canisters of Aero Brand sodium cyanide, which is used in the separation of gold and silver from the ore. I imagine the tops were discarded in some sort of dump near the mill site, where they were easily collected by a rancher for his roof.
While on a visit to the country I managed to come across this little gem sitting out in a paddock. At first I was unimpressed by the presence of clouds, but I now think they add to the image.

Niks and Naks love rustic furniture. And Poks loves playing with their pet chameleon.
