Red Runner Retreat
~~~~~
A cloudy night at an old cafe and gas station along historic Route 66, Mojave Desert. This structure had burned on the same evening as the Goffs General Store, likely due to arson. Volunteers had cleaned up much of the area and even repainted part of the historic "retreat" sign. This structure was the former cafe. After two long years, my night photography friends and I got together for an eight-night trip to Nevada and California. This was a 1856-mile night photography safari with Tim Little, Mike Cooper, and George Loo, and George the monkey. Illuminated during the exposure by a full moon trying to break through the clouds and a handheld ProtoMachines LED2 light painting device. This photo will most likely appear in my third history/night photography book I'm working on now. Thank you.
CSX GP38-2 2677 was leading a westbound Rock Runner off of the Alexandria Extension at Riverdale to head for West Virginia in 2002.
Built as Louisville and Nashville 6026 in 1979, this EMD is still active on the CSX roster as of 2024.
CN's Q119, with 11,000 feet of international containers bound for export at Robert's Bank, rumbles through the Skoonka Tunnels protected at either end by rock sheds in the Thompson River canyon near Spences Bridge, BC.
London 2021 - The Barbican during the second lockdown.
People are cautious as the virus has mutated.
One of the loads of green tiger beetles (Cicindela campestris) that was running around on or near the parking lot at the main entrance to the Tyresta National Park.
Like most of them, they are more about running than standing still, but here I somehow managed to snap two shots which I compiled into one photo using Zerene Stacker.
Continue to turn
But never return
Under a milky sky the Operation Life Saver train rolls down the coal runner in Superior. The two Budd RDC cars and Soo 700 were from the LSRM.
I really liked the colors and shallow dof with this choice. I used my 50 mm lens with a photo aperture control as an extender..on my Nikon d7100 post processing LR.
Yo he visto cosas que vosotros no creeríais. Atacar naves en llamas más allá de Orión. He visto Rayos-C brillar en la oscuridad, cerca de la puerta de Tannhäuser. Todos esos momentos se perderán en el tiempo como lágrimas en la lluvia.
Ya se que el titulo y el resto no tienen que ver con la foto, pero en la kdd salio el tema de este pedazo de pelicula. El que no la haya visto comete un pecado capital, de esos que vas al infierno directo y sin cobrar las 20.000
