Dans la foule du centre-ville s'empressant pour ses dernières emplettes avant le Réveillon de Noël, un coureur de Noël s'entraîne... Sans doute pour faire un peu de place pour la dinde qui l'attend le soir-même...!
Do Androids Dream of Electic Flies?
Went out birding at the Gilbert Water Ranch early this morning. I thought that Jackie Kennedy's pill box hat had gone out of style in the 60's. This crested runner duck is an unusual find for me.
As always, thanks so much for stopping by.

A couple of days ago Marybeth and Brianne came home with four Runner Duck chicks and they are too cute not to take a few pics. For this week's Slider Sunday shot, I added a few textures and that's about it, no added cuteness was added in the processing. :)
Been a bit absent as of late trying to get a few projects done before it gets too hot and enjoying the company of my Dad who drove up from Florida to stay for a bit. The biggest project is a new 10'x12' shed to replace a small useless one that's been neglected for the last 25 years and only stores things that are headed to the dump. We took it apart last month and while progress has been slow, it has been steady. I included a couple of pics in the first comment.
Textures from Skeletalmess and Lenabem-Anna.

This is the last picture of this long exposure motion series.
It was an interesting experience shooting and processing these pictures. The pictures were all shot in one afternoon during an event at Athen's Technopolis Centre.
These motion pictures have something very unusual about them. It starts with the number of keepers (I have usually between 5-10% keepers, in this case it was around 40%). The processing was time consuming and required a lot of fine tuning. And to my surprise the motion blur reveals something in the person that is photographed that I cannot discover in static pictures. I have not really understood what exactly it is but it seams that the motion can help us look 'behind the curtain' of the personality of a person. Anna" has written something very interesting about this in a comment on the previous picture in that series. Worth thinking about and worth exploring further.

''...Io ne ho viste cose che voi umani non potreste immaginarvi.
Navi da combattimento in fiamme al largo dei bastioni di Orione...
e ho visto i raggi B balenare nel buio vicino alle porte di Tannhäuser.
E tutti quei momenti andranno perduti nel tempo come lacrime nella pioggia.
È tempo di morire...''
