A long BNSF stack train passes under the bluffs along the Mississippi River in Denmark Township between Cottage Grove and Hastings. The train got the CP River Subdivision route to St. Croix, what I dub the "fast route" between Newport and St. Croix, before regaining its own trackage into Wisconsin.
This view is from Lake Rebecca Park near Lock and Dam no. 2 - a great place to watch Eagles and rail activity heading to and from the Twin Cities.
A small arctic base runabout design to make doing surveys and hauling small cargo easier.
Mostly built to make use of those R2D2 droid legs that I love but can never find a good use for.
Recently I bought four Indian Runners to join the menagerie and thought they would make excellent subjects for the old Hasselblad. These photos were taken under natural light in a small catching pen with a dark navy cloth in one corner to serve as a blank background. I used a 21mm extension tube to get a 'portrait' of the ducks with a 150mm lens.
Vaccination rates are rising in Melbourne (and Australia) and more Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are flowing to Victoria. Now it's a race to get the younger people fully protected before the soaring infection rates in Melbourne overwhelm our doctors, nurses, hospitals and cause more harm. So many people are hurting from the lockdowns, but also are unable to continue with the social distancing, mask and movement requirements.
On a brighter side I haven't seen the chalked "Vaccines are poison" message on the wetlands pathways recently. Here's hoping that idiot has recanted.
The mart runner doing his thing - Maynooth Mart - 1988.
Maynooth Mart was one of the largest private marts in the midlands. The Mart closed in 2002 after 40 years of trading on the Dublin road site. The Mart was quickly demolished and the former now is a Tesco Superstore.

A BNSF J-Train with four Boeing 737 fuselages cruises along the Clark Fork west of Plains. This train is destined for Interbay, Washington, where the cars and fuselages will be taken by the Renton Rocket to Boeing's Assembly Plant.
This is same pov and location as a previous upload (Solitary man). The reason I upload this one too, is that I am pretty amazed by the "spot focus" a phone camera can provide.
"A kite is the last poem you've written
so you give it to the wind,
but you don't let it go
until someone finds you
something else to do."

I am not really into shooting people photos, but I liked how this came out in B/W. I could hear her running behind me as I walked down the trail and she was actually rude to me when she passed me. I still took her picture...LOL! This was in December a few years ago in the morning and the fog was great. Thanks so much everyone, this one just made Explore!
UP Big Boy 4014 runs along the banks of the Missouri River as the train approaches it's stop in Herman Missouri. Running as UP PSLJC-30 the train would spend the rest of the day along the banks of the Missouri River on its way to its overnight stop in Jefferson City Missouri.
