RT is a crappy acronym for the fantastic color of this car: Rosso Trionfale. This is for sale for $119,998. At the 19th Annual Weston Antique & Classic Car Show.

RT 1431 in London Road, Lower Morden whilst taking part in the route 93 running day.

For my last 2010 upload I am returning to my first location. Here is Romford Market Place (St.Edwards Church) on a quiet Sunday, 17/3/68. RT1619 (KLB741) is at the stop for route 87. These were the days before ring roads and traffic-free areas - soon Romford was to lose its Market Town atmosphere under the heavy hand of the London Borough of Havering.

From my "Romfords Buses 1967-'70s" book.

NBC-liveried RT 604 awaits its next duty in the late afternoon sun outside Rickmansworth station.

Running day organised by the Amersham & District Motorbus Association.

Standing in for an RM in January 1973. You can tell its a long time ago as the bus isn't immobile in a traffic jam.

The Robo Team is a series of small, Lego minifigure scale robots. The Blacktron robot overlord Kratos is a powerful foe of the Robo Team. He has superior strength and intelligence, but most of all he possesses all the knowledge and memories of Maximus the Destroyer, founder and first Emperor of the Blacktron Galactic Empire.

And that was it, end of service. The bus survives in East Sussex.

RT seats had many uses. This bus wasn't due out for a while, hence the seat on the platform.

Parked at the former trolleybus stand on Wangey Road, 3251's conductor, Alan Money chats to his driver. I seemed to encounter Alan every time I came east before moving permanently in 82. He's now involved with several preserved vehicles. The bus is also preserved, being one of the Romford Green Line batch.

A pair of vintage vehicles. 624 slogs up the bridge on Whalebone Lane, with no interruption from the lights put in a t Selina's Lane some years ago.

RT 3524 at A1 Ardrossan, parked on a ramp/pit. 1968

Set for the return journey. The open front window seems to indicate it was a hot as well as wet day.

By this time I was working at the bus offices on Grosvenor Gardens, so had plenty of lunchtimes to look out for the the varoius RTs that returned to central London service. This one lasted another year.

RT3656 on Green Line route 723B passes the Cement Works at West Thurrock on its way to East Ham. Apr 68-the route was withdrawn 6 months later.

Specilly overhauld forthe 1977 Jubilee celebrations, 1599 was a celebrity vehilce to the end. It survived some shaky times in preservation only to meet its end to an arsonist.

Journey's end and time for a cuppa and a fag.

RT3259 stands on the forecourt of Bexleyheath Garage, March 1974. I wonder if those front adverts would be acceptable nowdays!

Full of olde worlde charm. And a group of LT PR staff itching to get into the pub!
