The 89 took a rather circuitous route from Lewisham to Eltham via Blackheath, Welling, Bexleyheath, Bexley and Blackfen. Bexleyheath garage lost its RTs to DMSs on this route from 22nd April 1978. RT 1586 (BX) pulls away in Bexley Road, Blackfen. Wednesday 26th February 1975. 2H-4.
At lunch, I watched two red tailed hawks circling each other. One had a light chin and the other dark. This is the light chinned one :)

I was surprised that 1599 wasn't chosen for the last run, it seemed the obvious choice given its celebrity status. even more odd was that 4712 was chosen by the LT museum over 1599.
RT3193 on Country route 370 passes the busstop just beyond the Brentwood Road junction, on 17/7/67. A typical Post Office Telephones van is parked yonder.
The very last RT to return from normal revenue-earning service was RT 624 (JXC 342). With various bodies hanging out the windows, it makes its final approach to Barking Garage.
