Substituting for an RM due to the serious bus shortage in the mid-70s. Don't recognise the stand. I think its probably Mildmay Park. All three buses have Bloomsbury on the blind, so perhaps this was a scheduled leg of the service.
Needles, California is located on the scenic Colorado River just across the bridge from Arizona, and by the tip of Nevada. Needles is the gateway to California. The fabled Route 66 (the "Mother Road") runs through downtown Needles.
On Sat & Sun 11th & 12th September 2010 there was a special event at the RAF museum, Hendon, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The museum was linked to Mill Hill Broadway and Colindale stations by genuine wartime buses - RTs 8 & 113 of 1940 and STL 441 of 1934.
RT113 leaves Mill Hill Broadway on the last trip of the day.
Identifiable are: RTs 1597 & 3198, RTW 467, RTL 453, RTL 68, RT 4680, RT 4508, RT 1705, RT 1702? and RTL 358?

In May 1963 the country department opened its last garage in Harlow, on a town centre site first approved for development as a bus garage in March 1957. Following an official opening ceremony on 21st May, the new Harlow garage became operational on the 22nd May, inheriting its fleet from Epping (EP) which closed the same day. RT 2504 (HA) passes through Epping High Street on its way to Harlow working the 339. Wednesday 8th May 1974. R-7.

On July 9th 1977, route 403 was officially converted to RCL operation using vehicles displaced from Grays by the arrival of new BT class Bristol VRs, but in practice there were insufficient RCLs available and a mixture of RTs, RMCs and Maidstone Atlanteans remained. RT 1018 was finally relegated to a training vehicle in September 1977 leaving RT 604 as the sole RT left in passenger service with London Country. RT 1018 is seen five months earlier laying over in Chelsham garage forecourt alongside a Leyland National. Saturday 16th April 1977. 3N-12.
