I shot this back in March of 2009 in downtown Sacramento, California. I'm not sure if the level of service is the same after the budge cuts of recent years. I suspect the location is on the west side of 7th Street near G Street, across from the Sheriff's Department.
Heading along Ripple Road towards the Thatched House roundabout, when the pub was still there. The red and cream vehicle is a local authority school bus.

It was a heavy summer day on foot from Chelsea Market to the Village. I had been searching for a shot that showed the subway's age without it looking decrepit. RT NYC was 103 years old that year.
For a squaring the circle, I especially like that the walkway around this manhole cover was comprised of squared bits with edges rounded by wear.
RT 4505 was also one of the vehicles in the same batch as RT 4502 to go to Grays as a Green Line liveried vehicle, being downgraded to bus duties after RMCs took over. It is seen here at Warlingham Green on the 403 having turned short, instead of going the extra half mile to Chelsham garage. Wednesday 15th May 1974. S-10.
With grey plastic kept to a minimum here, being used only for its interior which isn't really an issue and its baseplate, this 2018 recolour of the Matchbox Dodge Viper RT/10 certainly looks a lot less cheapo than some of its brethren.
Its an ageing casting originally dating back to 1994 which has been revived thanks to its gloriously deep and shiny new coat of paint which really smartens it up massively. With so many Vipers in the HW line up I'm not too sure why Matchbox bothered bringing it back but it does cut quite a dash and at least its not a generic!
Part of a new five vehicle set which have surprisingly begun to appear at ASDA in a timely fashion, probably to placate angry British collectors not being able to find new singles to buy!

One of the last RTs in London Country service, it reappeared in red livery in preservation. Oddly this was the only photo I have of the AEC rally at Watford that yeasr.

Included in the event was a line-up of green RTs, a reminder that until 1969 London Transport also operated a sizeable network of country bus services; these were a legacy of the London General Omnibus Company's territorial acquisitions of other operators, largely in Surrey and Hertfordshire. They were transferred on 1st January 1970 to the National Bus Company.
Included in the line-up is RLH47; the RLH was considered by many to be the low-height version of the RT although its bodywork, unlike that of the RT which was to London Transport's own design, was a standard off-the shelf Weymann product. There were 76 in total, 52 green and 24 red, and they were operated on routes which needed double-deck capacity but could not accommodate full-height vehicles due to low bridges en-route. RLH47 is blinded for local route 178 which operated out of nearby Dalston (D) Garage in Shrubland Road; having only 24 red RLHs to cover four routes at four widely dispersed garages London Transport's Central Bus Division often borrowed the odd green one to cover vehicle shortages, and RLH47 is known to have operated on the 178 during 1959 and 1960 so this representation is historically accurate!
Dalston was one of two small garages locally (the other being Hackney (H), in Well Street), which closed when Ash Grove Garage opened in 1981. Route 178 itself succumbed ten years earlier, becoming the last RLH-operated route on 16th April 1971. The following day it was largely replaced by route S3, using high-capacity one-man (sic) operated single-deck buses with a flat fare and fareboxes to speed up operation, and by changes to routes S2 and 236.

'RT 75' is the first of the '2014 - Year of the Bus' celebrations, and marks the 75th anniversary of the entry into service of the first RT-types on route 22.
The event featured a number of runs by RT-family vehicles between Piccadilly Circus and Homerton, which was once part of the 22 route. Some buses also ran to and from Ash Grove Garage, where there was also a display of RT-family vehicles, including an ex-St Helens example which had come down all the way from the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum in Lathalmond, Fife.
