in the revised livery for Matchbox of a cream type colour over yellow, orange and red stripes. YWS621 is the other bus.
A standard familiar RT from Seven Kings garage - often seen by me on routes 86 and 193 in Romford. The 150 was less well known to me and of no real use on Rover outings running northward to Chigwell Row. Becontree Heath was, more usefully for me a link to route 23 or 25 and a journey to London.
Moving east, I must have had a day off. I think this is opposite the station, but the blind is showing the opposite way. The buidling next to the 20s shops isn't there now. Or I could be wrong!
Ensigns very lovely RT 8 is seen pictured in Silk Street, London about to depart on a tour of London
And so the RTs came out to play one last time, or so we thought back then. 2541 heads for South Park Drive to pick up.

Walking up towards home from Clapham North Station often gave the opportunity to get something where Clapham park Road and Bedford Road met, like this rarity on the 35. The fenced off houses have since been listed and restored.
Emerging from Bromley garage on the long trek to Shoreditch is RT 3180 (TL) on the 47. This route along with the 94 was shared between Bromley and Catford garages. Tuesday 24th September 1974. 2A-5.

I can't seem to get my fill of the hummingbirds ... These were taken this afternoon in between rain showers in our garden - Andover, NJ
This is one of my older edits, but I think it holds up nicely. In it we have a custom designed AT-RT with a background created from scratch.
Taken at Chigwell Row in 1971. RT 4049 with driver. I wonder if there is anyone from Seven Kings Garage who can remember him? This bus stand is still there; but is not used by any buses now. It is part of a road into a housing estate. The buses used to go through the pub car park and just as you exited , on the right there was a watering can and water tap which was kept locked up. On a hot summers day the climb from Hainault to Chigwell Row could cook a RT: if fully loaded with passengers for Hainult Forest or the Guide camp near by. The steam from the radiator cap just blew into the drivers cab.
The ON The Buses program Reg Varney caricature was based on this bus driver.
Back on the road after restoration, there was some discussion about the shade of green used on the Romford (London Road) Green Line RTs, of which this was one.
The rarely seen RT 2114 LYF 169.
As it's parked against a steep bank could not get a better shot.
This bus has not been used for many years and has a damaged N/S rear. It carries a late Park Royal RT 8/2 body new to RT 4815. DMS 1485 is to the left and RT 4705 also unused for many years is to the right.
Sunders bodied RT 1320. At the time looking quite good, however, 30 years later, www.flickr.com/photos/57141830@N08/13200614065/in/photoli...
Shaftesbury and District's RT 1396 is seen in Station Drive, Barking on the day London bade farewell to the RT. Saturday 7th April 1979. 4Z-4.
Approaching Barnet Hill with Art Deco style petrol station in the background. There was a car showroom to the right of the photo and I think it was a Rover dealership.
