week 24 - me and kids
~when i was pregnant, people would (while looking at my boys) ask if I knew what I was having . . . After I replied, they would say, "oh a girl, you are going to love it, you get to go shopping with her...do her hair . . . " I (the mom of two boys who had secretly wished for a 3rd boy) , would sometimes reply, in a not so upbeat tone, "yeah, i have to go shopping with her & and I have to do her hair......" Well, although somedays she doesn't like to comb her hair, she has started to enjoy our morning routine and has started to want to "do it all by myself." Now, I am missing the days when she had to sit on my lap and we would look in the mirror as I *had* to do her hair . .
When I first started my job; as an English language teacher in China, I was surprised when the classrooms had blackboards instead of whiteboards.
Using chalk has certainly become a part of my life that I never expected.
HMM
Well, well, well.
A fresh start.
If by a fresh start you mean another mud-filled, piece of scrap, sorry excuse for a planet, then, of course.
Heck I hate it, tired of the same old blasted, messed up routine.
But nobody asked me, did they now?
/CS-4712/Havoc/: Sabre, get those canisters set. Once we get there, there's no time for second thoughts. Scans report sometimes heavy or weak resistance. Expect the worst.
/CC-1742/Sabre/: Affirmative. All ready and loaded.
It didn't take us long to get there.
The base was carved into the rock with its foundation rising from it.
Let's hope we can blow it up.
/CS-4712/Havoc/: According to the coordinates Raven gave us, we should be at the tunnel entrance. Make sure you aim, (chuckles) you can't really miss.
/CC-1742/Sabre/: Oh, come on, that's easy.
..............[Explosion]
A nice, big, heck of a hole.
But that was too easy, I thought.
Way too easy.
Then the clankers were alerted of our presence.
I knew it, I muttered to myself.
/CS-4712/Havoc/: Sabre, move it!!
I took a potshot at one and it burst, and I aimed at the other as Sabre ran into the hole.
I quickly followed.
As we entered through the tunnel, we arrived at the generator without being spotted, and quickly contacted the rest of the Legion.
This is Havoc of the 3rd Regiment, we have breached the base, we are currently in the genera..... [static] All units respond, we..... activating EMP.......... all units respond.
The blasted static.
A brief signal came up.
"This is Carnage..... turret is down.... I repeat... tur..... [static]....we have......taken... deacti.."
At least the transmission is out.
/CS-4712/Havoc/: Sabre, you know what to do.
He nodded.
/CC-1742/Sabre/: Activating in 5....4....3....2....1....

I followed this family for well over a month. They had a daily routine and were excellent parents. Every morning they would lead the two baby colts down the path through the water hyacinth at pretty much the same time every day...
My daily routine is walking with our dog in the afternoon with a tennis ball. So I took my camera with the macro lens during this walk.

Last night I had one of the funniest dream ever. I was in the 50s, in my house, and I was watching at a sort of real comedy involving my grandparents. They are usually hilarious people and watching them in their youth was better than any situation comedy! I couldn't be seen and I totally enjoyed that Italian 50s atmosphere. So when I woke up I wore my authentic 50s lingerie and shot these. I was too undecided about which one to post...so I posted both :)

Hitting the Portneuf Range foothills, a Westbound manifest gets morning sun on its flanks. Life is plentiful in the valley. Buckskin Mountain peaks out about 50 cars back. Breakfast has been served, teeth brushed, life is good, now let's chase this train!
For Macro Monday's - My Daily Routine
I usually have one cup of coffee a day and this is my favourite flavour.
The photograph captures the rhythmic dance of waves crashing onto the rocky shoreline of Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of India, where the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean converge. The foamy surf surges forward, washing over the dark, weathered stones before receding, leaving behind a glistening trail of salt and sand. The golden hues of the setting sun cast a warm glow over the waters, blending seamlessly into the vast horizon.
In the background, the iconic Vivekananda Rock Memorial stands proudly on a small island, a tribute to the philosopher Swami Vivekananda, who meditated here in 1892 before spreading his teachings across the world. To the side, the towering statue of Tamil poet and saint Thiruvalluvar rises against the sky, symbolizing wisdom and virtue. The region itself carries immense historical and cultural significance, once serving as a vital maritime hub for ancient trade routes connecting India to Rome and Southeast Asia. Legends also associate Kanyakumari with Goddess Devi Kanya Kumari, believed to be an incarnation of Parvati, who stands as a divine guardian of the land.
The waves, relentless yet serene, echo the spirit of Kanyakumari—an eternal meeting point of cultures, history, and natural beauty.
