Vas'ka and Yashka always sit next to me at my desk after breakfast. Either they are watching what is happening outside the window, or they are simply dozing.
Happy Saturday!

A large kingfisher - the biggest found in South India. This is a resident of the subcontinent and found in a variety of forest / thick woody areas adjacent to lakes, small rivers and possibly coastal areas. The bird feeds on fish, frogs, crabs, rodents and even small young birds. Its an aggressive one and few times we saw it fighting with the common White-Throated Kingfisher and chasing it away.
We sighted two of them early in the morning on a nice perch. They somehow have this routine of sitting for 20-30 minutes like this. Every time I visit this place, I see these birds at the same place. We waited for better light to get this shot. Unfortunately, there was little space to maneuver on the checkdam - a 20 feet drop front or 20 feet deep lake behind us - so couldn't get different views.
Thank you so much in advance for your views, feedback and faves.
Just for appreciation, twent five minutes before, there were many more snowy egrets and other birds perched on the naked tree (of the photo already uploaded), and they were focused on the feather cleaning routine.
It is not a good close-up, due to the limitation of the lens used and the photographer. ;))
No need to comment, Flickr friends.
Have a nice weekend!

The route we were making had no interest at all.
For the driver, it was another morning working routine with other vacationers.
Occasionally he made a monotonous comment to which we paid no attention.
Upon entering the square the tower appeared.
Everything changed.
The magic and the colors of Pisa opened before our eyes

Hooded mergansers are my favorite duck to photograph in the fall season.
While I was waiting for the male Hooded mergansers to come closer, I spotted this female one caught a good-size crayfish not far away from me. She quickly swam away from me. Then she began her "de-clawing" routine, which involves shaking the crayfish violently from side to side.

The Golden Gate bridge is packed almost all the time. This is on a Saturday late afternoon, with the sun low on the horizon. It was kind of hazy, the reason for the fading colors on the second pillar.
I took a portrait photo of the bridge at 210mm (315mm equiv) tele-zoom, but cropped the photo to landscape to draw attention to the traffic. I think a good photo tells a story. In this one I try to convey the daily routine of commuting.
I processed a single exposure into a soft HDR photo.

My daily routine is definitely drinking coffee, a morning without coffee is not a same day...

Like everyone we have a routine and pretty much every weekend is the same. We wake up, we walk and most mornings I take Critter walking early, then we come home and get Squrity and the Tabby boys and then we will probably go again for a quick mess around in the shed or something.
Now each time we get back home Critter thinks he needs to be fed and of course I think he needs to as well, so have created a bad habit of feeding him every time we get back from being outside.
What you have to remember that those three walks all happen before 10am, so he wakes up and has breakfast and then has another two to three breakfasts before he settles in for his daily nap.....
Yes I know, I have created this problem.....for the most part I think it's hilarious but now having 3 more mouths to feed and them all thinking they need to eat after every excursion makes me rethink how many walks I actually want to take them on hehehehehe
