This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2021 Round 8, with the topic "Upside Down". The RogueOlympics are a build contest by the RogueBricks Community, with each week featuring a new topic and a part limit of just 101 pieces (which my entry reaches exactly).
I really struggled with the topic this time, but I ultimately settled on the idea of two mirrored versions of a scene and turned to the topic of environmental considerations again. It is a depiction of the reality of energy production and its idealized mirror image up in the sky, symbolizing humanity's striving for cleaner energy and a more sustainable life, a goal that is not yet reached by actual reality (if it ever will be). This way it's also a fitting model for Earth Day, albeit 3 days late.
I myself had at first rather lofty aspirations with the model, trying to build a whole cityscape and maybe putting the mirror image into a lake's reflection rather than the sky. But in reality I quickly turned those aspiations down, concentrating on energy alone. This more focused topic also makes it a neat parable for the "Energiewende" specifically.
Another full year brought to a close! I was pleasantly surprised as I compiled this how many models there were. At times it felt like I wasn't getting much building in.
Ended up with 24 MOCs (not all are pictured).
Highlights included:
- Brickscalibur
- Guilds of Historica Challenge 11
- Febrovery
- RogueOlympics
- Hosting another amazing Summer Joust
- SHIPtember
- Skaerbaek, where I got to say hello to many friends despite only visiting on Saturday.
- Creations for Charity
- Novvember
- Wandering Skies
- Seeing 5 more products hit shelves. Was especially rewarding working on the first Adults Minecraft set!

Thanks everyone for continuing to make the LEGO community such a fun and friendly place :)
If you had any particular favorites from my 2024 builds, would love to hear which they were!
I made it that way. So that perhaps the boys that we lost in the war might stand and come home again. Home to farm, work, have children. To live long, full lives. Perhaps my own son might come home again. I'm sorry if I've offended anybody. I hope you enjoy my clock.
This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2025 Round 3, with the topic "Rückwärts / Backwards". The RogueOlympics are a build contest by the RogueBricks Community, with each week featuring a new topic and a part limit of just 101 pieces (which I used exactly).
I struggled a bit to come up with an idea but I ultimately built Mr. Gateau and his clock from the prologue of the film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It tells the story of the blind clockmaker Mr. Gateau who is hired in 1918 to build a new clock for the train station in New Orleans. But when he learns that his son died in the Great War, he makes the clock run backwards as a memorial for the fallen soldiers.
Who could have forseen that chicken love big red button? It would have been better to know it before leaving the access to the button free :)
Please note, that a lot of part are used to support the chicken and the hat in the air and I removed the supports with Photoshop
My entry for The Rogue Olympics, Round 2. The theme was "Oups". It contains exactly 52 pieces.
Hope you like it :)
This is my entry for round 6 of RogueOlympics 2025 with the theme word of "Attack."
This uses 95 parts out of the 101 part limit.
This is for Rogue Olympics Round 1. In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations. I've used exactly 57 pieces.
It's an open theme, so I chose to do a Star Wars one. Some of you know how much I like the Razor Crest and I love to build new version of it. So here's another one :)
Here's my entry for the second round of the RogueOlympics.
This week the theme was 'Two Dimensions', and again you couldn't use more than 101 parts. The build is based on M.C. Escher's artwork with the same name.
Seventh week and seventh round of RogueOlympics 2024. This time topic is "chaos". When reading the topic I nearly instantly thought of orcs and Warcraft III - Reign of Chaos. To be honest, the Juggernaught is much more important in Warcraft II - Tides of Darkness, but see it as a representative for Warcraft in general and for all orcs, which aren't really known as evil but as chaotic. Piece count limit as usual 101, I used all 101 parts.
This is my entry for the RogueOlympics Round 3... Topic: Monochrome. I built the "Sculpture of Ikarus" with 97 pieces.
This is my build for Rogue Olympics 2021 Round 8 the last one* roguebricks.de/forum/index.php?thread/3115-rogueolympics-... this week theme is "Upside Down".
I present to you My creation "The Pirates Bar"...
And so ... The Bar of the Pirates, and their old captain, drank too much rum for another night. It's time to close the bar, the empty glasses are turned upside down so they don't get dusty, the chairs are turned upside down and placed on the bar, so the floor can be cleaned, and this is the moment, when also the luck of the old captain can turn upside down, a new captain of the pirates can appear, why not be a woman?
*In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations. 75 parts are used for this MOC.
Еnjoy it.
time for 2024 Roguebricks building contest RogueOlympics. First round is themed "sweet as sugar". Somehow it came that I built an Ice Cream bike. Most time I fought with a minifig ice cream seller with unattached arms and a rubber band. After I won the fight, I decided to replace the minifig by a Fabuland figure :D
Maybe it would have been a good idea for this astronaut to double check his carabener...
Also, maybe it would have been a good idea for me to double-check the deadline for RogueOlympics, because I missed it by about 15 minutes.
This would have been an entry for round 2 with the appropriate theme word of "Oops!"
This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2023 round 7, themed "meeting". I chose the iconic scene from "The Meg", where the megalodon first appears (at least I remember it was its first appearence, it's been a while since I watched the movie ;) ). This became kind of a microscale moc since the shark is the small one from Lego not one of the greater.
I used 72 parts for the building, most of them for building the structure and a dark room for the shark ;)
Fifth round of this year’s RogueOlympics over on RogueBricks. This week's topic is 'Groß und Klein' ('Large and Small').
The words Neil Armstrong said when he set foot on the moon in 1969 will be remembered by generations to come: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
This round gave me (real) headaches at first but when I thought of Armstrong's quote, I figured it fits the topic nicely. 101 parts cannot do justice to the fantastic Lego Lunar Lander set. Hence, no great NPUs this time but some entertainment for sure!
The RogueOlympics are a contest that anyone can join. Each week, there is a different topic, asking you to express your idea using not more than 101 bricks. This entry uses exactly 100 pieces.
At the moment there are the RogueOlympics going on on www.RogueBricks.de
The first challenge was to build a free model with a maximum of 101 parts.
After thinking a lot about what to build and several trails on other MOCs I decided to build a new avatar for me.
After I build the figure with 81 parts I added a workbench, tubes of glue and my MiniFig avatar who is building the BrickFig avatar.
As a young god, Vulcan found out that he can control fire. Not even that, but he was also able to produce it from thin air. Years later he will learn that his fire is the Scorching Turtles favorite snack.
My build for Rogue Olympics 2021 Round 4*. In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations. This one is 71 pieces.
King Peanut was young, rich, famous and enjoyed the finer things in life. One of which was his ultra expensive dragon named Piñata. "The unicorn of dragons", as he used to call it, was shipped specially for him from Latin America.
Built for Rogue Olympics and the theme for the fifth round is Wildlife!
In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations (this one is 66). You can join the contest in any round on Rogue Bricks Forum!
Fifth round of RogueOlympics 2024. This week's topic is "uplift". No further words needed ;)
I used 86 pieces (101 allowed).
For the RogueOlympics on www.RogeuBricks.de I built a camera with only 101 parts, which you can find on my stream.
I liked this first 101 parts MOC so much, that I decided to build it again - but then without part limit.
The camera itself is only build with LEGO parts and, the Nintendo set tiles fitting perfectly for the screen on the backside. Also the objektive is brick build in this one.
This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2021 Round 7, with the topic "Reaktion" ("reaction"). The RogueOlympics are a build contest by the RogueBricks Community, with each week featuring a new topic and a part limit of just 101 pieces (which my entry reaches exactly).
Now first things first, I know this is not the most joyful topic for a LEGO model and I wasn't quite sure if it was appropriate, but I think LEGO modelling should be able to serve for confronting such a serious historical event and in light of the upcoming 35th anniversary of the tragic incident at Chernobyl and my ongoing fascination with the topic, this was actually the first thing I had in mind for the word "reaction". It is a nanoscale model (~1:2500) of reactors 3 and 4 at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant shortly after the explosion of reactor 4 and before the construction of the provisional "sarcophagus".
Next round RogueOlympics, this time it's about "balance". I came up with the idea of building an Oliphaunt whose backpack would be a reference to the topic. But since the end result became a baby Oliphaunt with a quite small basket on its back, the reference to the topic is now more the work-life balance. To integrate the kids into the parents' working world, the little orc simply has to take part in the adult business ;)
Round 3 in the #rogueolympics 2023 has the topic "risk". So I build a very personal scene, one of my worst fails, a bad jump from the 3-m-board (orginal pic also attached). The name is "The risk I took was calculated...", but man, am I bad at math.
Rogue Olympics 2021 Round 6 is here and the theme is "Nature".
In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations. This one is 82.
“The Guild navigators, gifted with limited prescience, had made the fatal decision: they'd chosen always the clear, safe course that leads ever downward into stagnation.”
― Frank Herbert, Dune
"In this vast and infinitely complex universe, dangers are everywhere. For an ordinary person, the challenge lies in recognizing the pitfalls and avoiding them. Just like other people, I'm not perfect, but my premonitions elevate me to another level of consciousness."
― Norma Cenva, recorded statements (self-translated from "Navigators of Dune", Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson)

Build for RogueOlympics, Round 2. Topic: "Oops"

Even if I'm sure this flower was enough of a reason to take a photo of it, it might be a great idea to verify the solidity of rock before stepping on it. The perfect picture necessarily requires to have the right focus in order not to have a blur image, but at least look out and stay focus for those around you.
My entry for The Rogue Olympics, Round 8, where the theme was « Focus ». The moc contains exactly 101 bricks, and it was pain not the go over that number and unfortunaltly, I had to use none-Lego support like tap or box.
As an inspiration, if you can still call it inspiration, because it's very similar to what I built, the comic picture (Don't mention the author of the Pinterest picture because I don't think the person made it really and unfortunatly, I can find the real author, at least I can say the person signes as "Fernandez")
Of course the duck is present, he's just flying above, and it's absolutly not because he's not here x)
This Folk Fairy spreads her love for music in a steampunk butterfly, doubling as a huge treble clef.
This is my entry to RogueOlympics Round 1.
This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2021 Round 5, with the topic "Groß und Klein" ("big and small"). The RogueOlympics are a build contest by the RogueBricks Community, with each week featuring a new topic and a part limit of just 101 pieces (which I'm just 1 piece below this time).
As someone who most enjoys building small models of big buildings, it was clear that I had to build a LEGO model of someone building a LEGO model of a building he's standing right in front of. But my personal part selection and the limitation on part count really made me struggle to come up with a fitting and recognizable example. So I turned to classic 80s/90s castles, allowing me to make use of the big wall pieces to get some volume. While the castle shares some similarities with the classic black castles, it isn't trying to immitate a specific one but more a stylistic amalgamation of them.
Including my own hand was kind of an afterthought (unfortunately the orange shirt didn't make it onto the photo), but helps to add an additional meta layer to it, encouraging some further questions. Is the little guy imitating his big original? Is HE controlling the big guy and building a castle around himself through his model? Or are the entirely different worlds of these two people colliding in a shared act of 90s nostalgia?
RogueOlympics 2023 Final eight round: Icon
I give you an iconic badass: Mister Lemmy f*****g Kilmister!!
Have you watched your back? You should.
My entry for The Rogue Olympics XXXXXX, Round 3. The theme was "Backwards". It contains exactly 101 pieces.
Hope you like it :)
Final round in the Rogue Olympics 2021.
The theme is "Upside Down", a difficult one, but with a lot of potential.
In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations. This one is exactly 100.
Here comes my entry for RogueOlympics 2023 Round 2: "Internet".
The whole world depends on it. Life cannot go on without it anymore.
It is so convenient. It is omniscient. And so entertaining.
You can make a lot of money with it.
The INTERNET
OR ...
You can be manipulated, abused, you can lose your money. And you can even lose your identity.
So, be careful. Watch your steps and be aware of the consequences of all your actions.
Be aware of the DARKNET.
This is why I compare the Internet sometimes with a Kraken.
Anyway, have fun with my newest creation!
This is my submission for the fifth round of Rogue Olympics, with the theme "wish". I used 101/101 pieces (and had to remove the back corner of his head to hit that limitation 😅)
I didn't have loads of time this week so its just a wee one-day build, but I'm very happy with how he turned out, and I think I will come back to him in the future to improve upon the design.
Heavy discounts everywhere: It was this moment that he knew he needed everything Vidiyo.
This is my entry to RogueOlympics Round 6.
This time in Rogue Olympics 2021 Round 5 the theme is "Big and Small". For some reason it was really hard to think of something and this was the only idea that came to my mind :D
In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations. This one is 50 pieces...or 49?
2023 was a rather unusual LEGO year for me - in that over 50% of the models I made were collabs (and collabs with Isaac, specifically). In January we finished The Wayfarer's Den as a Brickscalibur entry, and my personal favorite of our collabs.
In March/April I managed to put together a couple builds for the annual RogueOlympics. It's always a blast to compete in, even if I ended up not having enough time to enter all of the rounds this time.
As always, running the Summer Joust with Isaac and many other friends from the LEGO community was another highlight of the year. Not only did we have a record number of entries this year, but the quality was astonishing as well! It's so inspiring to see what all of you create year after year. Thanks for making the contest what it is!
In September I was able to go over to Denmark to visit Isaac for a couple months which resulted in several collabs for the Wandering Skies contest, a SHIP, and an entry for the CCC. We also made it to Skaerbaek for a day to meet some fantastic people (and of course look at the wonderful builds).
Ended the year with 12 builds in total, 7 of which were collabs.

My entry for the seventh round of the RogueOlympics 2023 is titled "Riddles in the dark". It shows Bilbos encounter with the creature Gollum.
Here comes my entry for the 3rd round of RogueOlympics 2022 - "Bon Apetit".
This time I chose a scene from the German classic cartoon "Max and Moritz" by Wilhelm Busch.
Please note that only 101 parts are allowed for a MOC in this competition!
That was really a big challenge this time for my chosen subject...
Tromping through the snowy forest, the sasquatch makes no attempt to hide his passage. The footprints he leaves behind are he only clues to his existence...
Built for the Rogue Olympics over on the roguebricks.de forums. Each week builders have one week and 101 parts to build a creation for the theme. This week's theme was "Wildlife", and I used 84 bricks. Though I did lose a few reddish brown plates to their well-documented brittleness.
Hi everyone, here's my entry for round 2 of the Rogue Olympics, made with exactly 101 parts.
I was struggling quite a bit to find a good idea for this prompt, so I had to take a sort of creative approach.
The idea was to have a big scale character immerse into his VR headset, while some logos are hovering over his head. For the logos I chose the wi-fi, because it was easy to create with just 4 pieces, YouTube and Flickr were easy choices for Lego related stuff, Facebook was just a good color contrast.
The VR is also a call back to one of my older mocs.
Here's the video tutorial:
An alternate edit of my entry for the first round of Rogue Olympics! The theme is "Twilight", and the limitation is a maximum of 101 pieces. I used 99 here.
This entire photo is just lit by the phone underneath the campfire. I really dig the vibes here, although the original felt more true to the prompt; "Twilight".
The scene is inspired by Dark Souls, where the protagonist tries to capture a moment of peace at the Bonfire before heading back out there.
Built for Rogue Olympics and the theme for the second round is Weather.
In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations (this one is 76). You can join the contest in any round on Rogue Bricks Forum!
Here comes my entry for round 3 of RogueOlympics 2023.
This time the subject is "Risiko" (risk).
What can be riskier than being a frog who wants to find his way home?
Welcome in the year 1982 when Atari VCSruled the (gamer's) world!
This is my reminiscence to Frogger - a very popular video game at that time.
I played it until my fingers got numb. Oh, happy days...
Enjoy!
Rolli mouse playing with his new toy, the "Cheddar Getter"
Built for Marchikoma, and for Round 1 of the RogueOlympics.
