A long time ago, in a Middle Earth far, far away, Gandalf the Bley and Radagast the Reddish Brown met, because of a small piece of jewelry. What was the conversation about, I simply don't know, but later on a creature named Smeagol found that same jewelry and things went south. Southeast, to be precise to a place called Mordor. Well, you know the story.
I built this for Rogue Olympics round 7. The theme is Encounter. 99 pieces used for the whole scene + 2 stickers on Radagast's cloak = 101 parts in total.
What strange creatures lurk belowâŠ
The mesopelagic, or twilight zone, is the last layer of the ocean that light from the sun reaches.
Inspired by the Bionicle Rahi, I included a biting function that moves the jaws as you press on the tail. See it in action.
This model uses exactly 101 parts and is my entry for the 1st round of RogueOlympics, for the theme twilight/DĂ€mmerung. More details and part breakdown on RogueBricks.
After making some small changes, I plan to send this on the BZPower Convention Circuit, which will be displayed first at BrickFair Fredericksburg from March 29â30.
Build #2 for Rogue Olympics Round 2. In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations. This one should be 87..or 89 parts..not exactly sure :D
The theme for this round is "Adventure".
My entry to the 5th round of this years Rogue Olympics, theme: "Wish".
I used only 70 parts for this build.
For the 2nd round of RogueOlympics, for the theme oops/Ups. More details and part breakdown on RogueBricks.
Pack your bagâschool is back in session.
For the 8th and final round of RogueOlympics, for the theme class/Klasse.
This has been an enjoyable contest, and I've loved seeing many excellent builds from RogueBricks forum members. This has challenged me to build lean week after week, and I'm happy with what I accomplished. Thank you to the RogueOlympics organizers for putting this on!
Rogue Olympics is back - my favorite contest with 8 rounds, where each builder must use a maximum of 101 parts for each build.
First round's theme is Above the clouds. For some reason the first idea that I had was a scene from The NeverEnding Story movie, where Falkor and Atreyu were flying above the clouds.
The build uses a total of 27 parts.
For the 5th round of RogueOlympics, for the theme wish/Wunsch. More details and part breakdown on RogueBricks.

My Entry for the RogueOlympics 2020 Week 7 where you have to build a MOC with the limit of max 101 Legoparts.
This week's theme: Time.
RogueOlympics Round 5: Chains - build something with no more than 101 bricks.
This is inspired by the Deepgate Codex by Alan Campbell and uses exactly 101 bricks
This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2025 Round 2, with the topic "Ups! / Oops!". The RogueOlympics are a build contest by the RogueBricks Community, with each week featuring a new topic and a part limit of just 101 pieces (which I used exactly).
As you can see I chose a rather...literal interpretation of the topic and built the delivery van of a famous parcel service. It's not the most intricate construction but I made sure it's a fully built 4-wide and fits a minifig inside. The words on the side have been added in post-processing.
My entry for the second round of the RogueOlympics. This time the the theme is "Adventure". And as always in the Olympics you are only allowed to use a max of 101 parts.
I had a lots of ideas this time. And I also wanted to show another Little Robot. But after all I chose a pun which works better in English than in German though: |Adventure = Apeventure
I built a little Indiana Jones scene with 92 parts - and an ape of course. For me Indy was the one I wanted to be as a school kid. I saw his films and I also had the LEGO sets later. He was the one who made me interested in history and forgotten cultures. And of course finding treasures.
Hope you like this small MOC.
On monade the third round will start. If you are interested in participating, just visit www.RogueBricks.de
You will find all informations there in English and German.
I don't know how I got this idea, but it was literally the first thing that came to my mind. I remember seeing it and did a little search, and of course it was built by Kit for last year's Iron Forge - check his amazing build here.
Built for Rogue Olympics and the theme for the third round is Bon Apetit!
In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations (this one is exactly 90). You can join the contest in any round on Rogue Bricks Forum!
This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2023 Round 2, with the topic "Internet". The RogueOlympics are a build contest by the RogueBricks Community, with each week featuring a new topic and a part limit of just 101 pieces (I used 99, including all the erased support structures).
I built the distractions of the internet world trying to fight for our attention with all their apps, websites and services on all kinds of devices, all while we're actually working on supposedly more important matters. Maybe you recognize one or the other app/website.
This is my entry for Rogue Olympics final 8th round, where the theme is Icons. Both an iconic location and set. And because it's a set I'm throwing it also for Tips&Bricks contest too :D
EDIT: It came to my knowledge that this tower was built at least once before. But with only two very common pieces it was expected :)
With the end of the week comes another RogueOlympics entry, for the category âBig and Smallâ. John suggested an elephant and mouse combo, and Markus lent me a rolli for the scene. Iâm quite happy with how the elephant turned out, and will likely keep âOlliâ together for some time.
Parts count? It should hardly be a surprise at this point that it is precisely 101 elements.
A rather unusual pair of friends, Olli and Rolli get along fabulously nonetheless. This may not be obvious to onlookers due to their constant bantering, but the two know they can always depend on each other for help.
More pictures on Brickbuilt.
My build for the 8th and final round of the RogueOlympics, using 101 parts exactly. This weekâs theme was âUpside Downâ. I had very little time to build this week, but Iâm glad I managed to at least get something together for the final round. Itâs been a very fun contest, but Iâm definitely looking forward to building without a parts limit again!

For the RogueOlympics on www.RogueBricks.de I built a camera with only 101 parts, which you can find on my stream.
I liked this first 101 parts MOC so much, that I decided to build it again - but then without part limit.
The camera itself is only build with LEGO parts and, the Nintendo set tiles fitting perfectly for the screen on the backside. Also the objektive is brick build in this one.
This is my entry to the 3rd round of this year's RogueOlympics. The topic is 'Bon Apetitâ. As always, the challenge is to use no more than 101 pieces. This piece of work consists of the maximum 101 pieces.
While the idea isnât too witty, it was a load of fun assembling this and making it look as real as possible. For those wondering, the displayed piece of cake comes closest to what you would call a Blackforest Cake which is famous for its chocolaty, creamy taste that only gets better with the cherries and a whiff of cherry liqueur.
Built for the third round of the RogueOlympics on Roguebricks. After seeing this weekâs theme was âBon apetitâ, I knew I had to get an entry in â though I wasnât sure exactly what I wanted to build. Then I had an idea for how to make the radish slices, and the rest of the build came together from there.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.
This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2025 Round 6, with the topic "Attacke! / Attack!". The RogueOlympics are a build contest by the RogueBricks Community, with each week featuring a new topic and a part limit of just 101 pieces (which I used exactly).
I built an homage to the film WarGames. It shows David Lightman supposedly hacking into the server of a videogame company to play a round of "Global Thermonuclear War". But unbeknownst to him he is actually communicating with a government supercomputer that takes his game a little too serious and is unable to distinguish between the simulation and a real Soviet attack.
Built for round one of the RogueOlympics. The first category was âAbove the Cloudsâ. After some deliberation, I decided on building a fantasy airship for a couple goblins. I ended up using 96 parts total.

Here's my 7th contribution to the 2025 Rogue Olympics.
Made with exactly 101 parts. The prompt was "Temperature".
What better way to represent temperature than a hot and cold cycle.
Here's the video: youtu.be/mrIMDtv4dcY
For the 2023 RogueOlympics - Round 6: Wild.
This week I decided to venture for the first time into the realm of (soft) post-apoc scenery, where urban landscapes and wilderness are synonymous. 101 pieces used!

The dark forest hypothesis is one of many proposed answers for the Fermi paradoxâthe observation that advanced alien life is statistically likely yet has not conclusively been observed.
Although variations of the dark forest concept have existed since the 1970s or 80s, the term derives from Liu Cixinâs novel of the same name, second in the Three-Body trilogy. It describes a dangerous universe, where âevery civilization is an armed hunter stalking through the trees like a ghost, gently pushing aside branches that block the path and trying to tread without soundââwhere advertising your presence can lead to a definitive strike from more cautious, more powerful entities.
Without any external reference, our views of cosmic society are shaped in some way by our own. Are fears of the dark unfounded, or is the universe really a backwards place?
For the 3rd round of RogueOlympics, for the theme backwards/rĂŒckwĂ€rts. More details and part breakdown on RogueBricks.
My entry to the first round of this years Rogue Olympics, theme: "Twilight".
I used 100 parts for this build.
My entry for the third week of Rogue Olympics 2025. The theme is "Backwards", and I used 99 pieces, including 4 that are just used for keeping the thing level when photographing.

Up to round 6 in the RogueOlympics now and our build prompt was âImpulseâ. I decided to base my entry on the ever impulsive Calvin as one of his alter-egos Spaceman Spiff from the comics Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson. The scene uses exactly 101 parts and Spiff does fit in his spaceship.
Check out more photos on Brickbuilt.
My entry to the 7th round of this years Rogue Olympics, theme: "Temperature". I choose the bad guy from "The wrong trousers" (a Wallice & Gromit classic).
I used 56 parts for this build.
This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2023 Round 1, with the topic "Ăber den Wolken / Above the clouds". The RogueOlympics are a build contest by the RogueBricks Community, with each week featuring a new topic and a part limit of just 101 pieces (I used 100, including all the hidden/erased support structures).
I built the Sea Duck, Baloo's trusty amphibian plane from Disney's TaleSpin and Kit Cloudkicker doing what he loves most: surfing the clouds on his fold-out glide board.
Free building instructions for the Sea Duck can be found on Rebrickable.
My sixth build for the RogueOlympics. This weekâs theme was âNatureâ, so I decided to try my hand at another bird â something Iâve only done once before, but have wanted to try again for a while now. I used 101 parts total.

Last build for the 2023 RogueOlympics - Round 8: Icon. 43 pieces used!
A little homage to the queen of dark purple, Jente Bijl.

Hamster aren't the only ones with mechs
Built for the For the first round of this yearâs #RogueOlympics on #RougeBricks .... and #colormybricks contest for #oldgraybricks ... and #Marchikoma
This is my entry to the 5th round of this year's RogueOlympics. The topic is 'Wildlifeâ. As always, the challenge is to use no more than 101 pieces. This piece of work consists of 95 pieces.
This weeks topic was a vast and welcome playground for character design. As the German topic was 'Tierwesen' which refers more to the phantastic creatures, I immediately had a thousand different animals come to mind that I wanted to build. As always, at the given piece limit, I had to pick a rather simple object to be adequately displayed.
Let me introduce to you A.J. He's the kind of bug the whole forest hates and it's also what A.J. loves about his life. He gets to be the guy nobody can stand cause he's just so literate and sophisticated in his entire doing. So, you guessed it: A.J. stands for 'annoying jerk'. Seriously, A.J. Get a bug life.
Round 7 is here and this time we have to show some "Reaction". Entry for the Rogue Olympics 2021.
In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations. This one is 40 including the sticker.
Just a common flying whale carrying a city on his back ;)
Built for the first round of the RogueOlympics 2023 with the topic "Above the clouds". Used 87 parts in total for this one.
My entry for the second round of Rogue Olympics 2025. The theme was "Oops!", and the restriction, as ever, is to only use 101 pieces. I used 97 here.
I had lots of fun playing around with different systems; Duplo, Modulex and there's even a hint of Bionicle in there!
I was inspired by FS Leinad's excellent photo in using the Duplo.
Finally, it should be fairly obvious to any fellow builders what moment I've captured here. I know it's one that's happened to me once too often.đ

My entry to the 4th round of this years Rogue Olympics, theme: "Trash".
I used exactly 97 parts for this build.
Final round in the Rogue Olympics 2021.
The theme is "Upside Down", a difficult one, but with a lot of potential.
In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations. This one is exactly 100.
The (t) stands for Thumb!
This is my entry for the 6th round of Rogue Olympics, where the theme is "Attack!". As ever, pushing right up against the limit with 101/101 pieces used.
Submission, piece breakdown and behind the scenes shot on Rogue Bricks
My entry for the 6th round (nature) of the Rogue Olympics at Rogue Bricks. The only restriction is a max. amount of 101 parts. I used exactly 101 parts for this build.
Inspired by the large mountains and waterfalls of Yosemite National Park (California-USA)
Built for Round 6 of the RogueOlympics - the theme is "Nature".
Uses 96 parts
As a young god, Vulcan found out that he can control fire. Not even that, but he was also able to produce it from thin air. Years later he will learn that his fire is the Scorching Turtles favorite snack.
My build for Rogue Olympics 2021 Round 4*. In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations. This one is 71 pieces.
My first Lotr Moc, built for Round 1 of the RogueOlympics.
The difficulty was to use only 101 parts.
As some of you might know, I have had the keyword "Lotr" in my describtion under "Favourite Genre" for a long time already, so time that I build something to this also.
I wanted to build a location of Middle-earth in microscale anyway and since Helm's Deep, Minas Tirith or Orthanc have already been perfectly realized by others in that scale, I decided to build Rivendell as a model.
It was quite difficult with only 101 allowed parts.. so, it's very fragile.
Hope you like it !
The fourth round of this yearâs RogueOlympics over on RogueBricks asked for something 'Magical'.
I loved the idea of an experiment gone wrong and a poor apprentice being turned into something cude and cuddly â so of course it had to be a little rolli :) The owl took me the longest, but as usual I had great fun with all the small details! As always inspired by the lovely interiors of the mighty CĂ©sar Soares!
The RogueOlympics require you to stick to 101 elements or less so this little scene was built with a total of 96 bricks. Itâs always great fun to work around those restrictions as itâs so different from most other contests, so of course I had to join.
Feel free to join this ongoing contest yourself! You can join each week for a different theme that needs to be built with 101 elements or less!
For the 6th round of RogueOlympics, for the theme attack/Attacke. More details and part breakdown on Roguebricks.
The first round of this yearâs RogueOlympics over on RogueBricks sent us 'Above the Clouds'.
When the theme was announced I immediately had to think of an adventurer on their flying animal. I briefly took a detour into the Ghibliverse but since that didn't work out, this turtle became the classic last-minute entry one is to expect from me. Hope you like it regardless!
Minimal editing on this one, photographed it in front of a tablet!

Seven more rounds to go, we barely started! Feel free to join in on the fun!
So last round of Rogue Olympics (topic is time). I am not completely satisfied with that entry. We had that topic 2 years ago too. And I am still in love with my former entry.
So, no chance to produce anything better this time.
Build number two for the RogueOlympics. The prompt this week was âWeatherâ and as I was having trouble coming up with an interesting idea, I fell back on the winter scenes I always enjoy building.
Only 99 parts were used.
