We’re already into week five of the RogueOlympics, and this time the category was ‘chains’.

So here is a log skidder made of just 93 parts (another 8 in the minifigure and chainsaw). It is articulated like the real machines, and the front blade can be raised or lowered.

I thought of the timber industry, with things like chainsaws and logging chains being used so prominently.

My entry to the first round of this years Rogue Olympics, theme: "Oops!".

I used exactly 101 parts for this build.

The seventh round of this year’s RogueOlympics over on RogueBricks asked for 'Reaction'.

And what better way to capture a chemical reaction than a rocket blasting into outer space? Exactly!

Stands by itself, supported by a simple Technic triangle, that also works as a way to attach all the round elements that make up the smoke :)

The RogueOlympics require you to stick to 101 elements or less so this little scene was built with a total of 101 bricks. It’s always great fun to work around those restrictions as it’s so different from most other contests, so of course I had to join.

One more round to go, feel free to join!

Here's my 4th contribution to the 2025 Rogue Olympics.

Time to spice up the competition with a little trash-talk.

Very happy to put some Mario pieces in good use. Made with exactly 101 parts. The prompt was "Trash".

This is my entry to RogueOlympics Round 4.

This is my entry for the fourth round of the Rogue Olympics 2025. The theme was "trash", which I interpreted as "junk food".

As ever, the limit was 101 pieces which was especially tight on this one. I had to remove parts of the shopping trolly not seen from this angle just to make it all adhere to the limitation!

It left the world to live forever, the greatest theme of all time.

This is my entry to RogueOlympics Round 8.

My build for week 3 of the RogueOlympics. This week’s theme was ‘Monochrome’. Unlike my last entry, this one uses exactly 101 parts. I had a bit of a hard time deciding what to build this week, but once I came up with the arch design here, I knew I wanted to incorporate it somehow. The rest of the scene was inspired by a few pieces of concept art I found. I also experimented with a photography technique I’ve seen Kosbrick use – instead of editing in the background, which would have been trickier than usual due to the out of focus elements at the front, I printed off a picture and placed it behind the build. It’s definitely something I would like to play around with more in the future, as I think it could work well in a variety of situations.

This is my entry to the 8th and final round of this year's RogueOlympics. The topic is 'Time’. As always, the challenge is to use no more than 101 pieces. This piece of work consists of 100 pieces.

She who controls space and energy also controls time. She creates and destroys, judges and rules. Everything is transient, but not she, who forms time itself. She is the Master of the Universe...

...or she is simply an average bug, tinkering with her latest toy, an orrery.

Cloudy's journey

Cloudy is traveling with the sky ship for the first time. Arayy and Buzzuia take her to a nice quiet place where she can give birth to her young and hopefully live a peaceful life.

This is for the first round of the 101 parts rogueolympics competition.

This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2023 round 4 themed "garden". As always, goal was to build a moc with only 101 pieces. So here it is :)

Here's my 2nd contribution to the 2025 Rogue Olympics. A Vespa ride took an unfortunate turn... Or is it a sabotage? Made with 95 parts. The prompt was "Oops!".

Build number four for the RogueOlympics, this time the category being “Magical”.

Autumn has always seemed like a magical time of year to me, with leaves rapidly changing shades of color making for incredibly beautiful scenery. Into the fall scenery I added some Elven towers. I like the style of the setting so much that I plan to build another larger scene soon.

Parts count being 101 elements.

Der Rattenfänger von Hameln

Built for the "Magical" Round 4 of the RogueOlympics. Uses 91 parts (28 of them being Rolli mice... magical indeed... 😉 ).

“Mind” was the RogueOlympics theme this round, and I settled on a version of the popular sci-fi trope where consciousness can be transferred via high tech equipment. It uses exactly 101 parts.

My newest build for the RogueOlympics this week is themed magical and I decided to build a magical creature. Playing with nature is always fun and I also got to include a Castles troll and cats.

Of course the build only uses 101 pieces once again!

My entry for the 2nd round (theme: wetter) of the Rogue Olympics 2022 at roguebricks.de/forum/. The only restriction is a max. amount of 101 parts. For this Moc I used 98 parts.

Another build for RogueOlympics and this week’s category of “Risk”. With such a broad prompt it took me a while to decide how exactly to approach it. In the end I fell back on one of my favorite childhood themes, Power Miners. Which led to lots of fun, and even a simple function on the mining vehicle as when lowered the orange ‘drill’ rolls with the vehicle. 100 parts used this time.

Stretchy's Domino Rally paradise

My contribution for the current round of RogueOlympics. Topic of the week: Reaction.

I immediately had to think of my kindergarten days and the first self-constructed experiments in which a reaction was in the foreground of the fun: A domino rally.

Again I built in a Little Robot, this time Stretchy who seems to love this fun too. 88 parts in total.

The Wizard is a Barbarian now!

Here is my final submission for the Rogue Olympics 2025. The theme for this one is "class", and I used 101 / 101 pieces. This one was fun to put together, especially the sword, face and beard area. The lower body could have really benefited from another 30 pieces or so!

Big thank you to woomyworld for helping me figure out the background.

Here's my 5th contribution to the 2025 Rogue Olympics.

I'm finally using that Dots wristband for something.

Made with exactly 101 parts. The prompt was "Wish".

Here's the video: youtu.be/mrIMDtv4dcY

My 6th submission for the RogueOlympics. Quite a fun category again this week, as the prompt was “Nature”. It took me most of the week to decide what to build, but eventually I settled on the idea of a moss covered stone golem. Taking some influence from a variety of things: Rock Monsters in the Power Miners theme, earth golem concept art online, our previous Titan Tot builds, and the Veggietales Rock Monsters from The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything.

I wanted him to be able to ‘awake’ from looking like a normal boulder to a lumbering golem and am very happy that it worked out. Besides the transforming function I spent the most time on his head trying to capture an appropriately craggy expression.

For the first time I used fewer than 101 elements! Just 86 if counting the flowers on a sprue as a single part, or 98 if considering each flower separate.

Included some alternate images on Brickbuilt.

Microscale Black Falcon Fortress (Also know as the BFF)

For round 4 of the RogueOlympics over on RogueBricks the brief was to replicate something from real life. And, of course, one could only use 101 bricks.

Who doesn't love a good ramen? I sure do!

When thinking about what I could build I of course thought of my favourite foods. The one on the list I had never seen a brick version of was ramen – time to give it a go! Enjoy!

Also fits perfectly for this week's open round of Iron Forge – your chance to become an Iron Builder! Check it out!

Many thanks to Alysa and Cecilie for expert ramen advice and to Chris for that sweet blue bowl!

Who said a book couldn't be a mage? I would say, it's a rather accurate class for a book

HUGE INSPIRATION by naolito with her/his drawing

My entry for The Rogue Olympics, Round 8, the last x(. The theme was "Class". It contains exactly 101 pieces.

Hope you like it :)

My build for the last round in the RogueOlympics. The final prompt was “Icons”.

Which left plenty of options but in the end I settled on scaling up some elements that should be very recognizable as they have all been produced since the 1980s or earlier, and still are being made today.

This was actually the first time I had tried building parts and it was super fun! Definitely plays with your mind to have these sitting on your build table.

I used the maximum 101 parts.

This little ship was inspired by Käpt'n Blaubär and built using the maximum of 101 pieces for the RogueOlympics.

Working with such a limited piece count was quite a challenge, but I'm happy with the result and look forward to the next rounds. So you can expect more 101-piecer from me.

At the start of the third round of the RogueOlympics, a special image immediately came to mind when I heard the keyword "monochrome".

And although I initially resisted a little against this seemingly obvious idea, also because 101 parts for it are plenty scarce, I came back over time again and again to this one motif.

Last night, when I happened to hold a Pab cup in my hand, a idea came to me and I skipped work until noon the next day and used the time to finish my entry for this round.

Hope you like it !

Just another small one for the ongoing RogueOlympics on www.RogueBricks.de

This time I built a Nazrul from the movie LOTR. I used 94 elements.

RogueOlympics is nearing its conclusion and for the 7th week our prompt was “Encounter”. I revisited the Atlantis theme and had fun creating a sunken temple and small submersible scooter. The scene uses exactly 101 elements.

Built for Rogue Olympics and the theme for the eight round is Time!

In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations and fof the final round I've used the limit of 101.

P.S. Can you name all the stories?

My build for week 4 of the RogueOlympics. This week’s theme was ‘Magical’. I had so many ideas for this category, I honestly spent more time debating on what to make (and even started on a few other ideas) than I did actually putting this together! It was a lot of fun experimenting with the mirror for the photography here – it’s something I’ve seen several other builders do, and I’ve always wanted to try it myself. Then I came across this piece of concept art, and decided to go for it. There are certainly some things I would try to improve if I had more time/parts, but overall I’m fairly pleased with the outcome. The build ended up using 88 parts.

White Rabbit from "Alice in Wonderland". This is my entry for round 8 of RogueOlympics 2022, this time themed "time". I used 75 parts.

Here's my 6th contribution to the 2025 Rogue Olympics.

Simple build, but I love the colors and balanced composition.

Tough day for the sushi chef...

Built for Round 4 of the RogueOlympics with, as always, only 101 parts.

When Markus announced last round that he wanted to build a creature only out of trans-orange, I guess I was hoping for a Phoenix.

Unfortunately, he did nothing of the sort, so I had to build this creature myself ;)

As this week's theme, "Magical", fits perfectly to my idea, I built the Phoenix Fawkes from Harry Potter.

I hope you like him as much as I do!

For this year's RogueOlympics - Round 2: Internet.

99 pieces were used!

Somewhat of a Surrealist build. I blame Kit.

Part sheet

The fifth round of this year’s RogueOlympics over on RogueBricks asked for 'Big and Small'.

I always loved the image of a giant turtle with worlds on their back that Terry Pratchett created, and while the settlement that this one carries on its back is a lot more managable, I feel it shares a lot of the same whimsicalness. Super happy with the two little airships! Hope you like it!

The RogueOlympics require you to stick to 101 elements or less so this little scene was built with a total of 101 bricks. It’s always great fun to work around those restrictions as it’s so different from most other contests, so of course I had to join.

Feel free to join this ongoing contest yourself! You can join each week for a different theme that needs to be built with 101 elements or less!

Rolli mouse playing with his new toy, the "Cheddar Getter"

Built for Marchikoma, and for Round 1 of the RogueOlympics.

Note: The leg assembly technique was also used in my prior Kirigirisu Think Tank.

For the sixth round of the RogueOlympics the theme was "Nature".

I always wanted to build a Nautilus and now I did it with just 101 pieces. Biggest challenge was to build the base with such few pieces and make it hold the sea creature. A DUPLO plant element came in very handy here.

Sixth round of this year’s RogueOlympics over on RogueBricks. This week's topic is 'Nature'.

I thought of various scenes related to nature in the beginning, only to realize they would be too difficult to illustrate with the part limit.

But what could be more natural than an organism that has survived the past 500-700 million years? The jellyfish is a truly fascinating animal. And seeing this MOC develop under loads of Stoner Rock was almost too much fun and sort of a trippy experience!

The RogueOlympics are a contest that anyone can join. Each week, there is a different topic, asking you to express your idea using not more than 101 bricks. This entry uses exactly 101 pieces.

RogueOlympics has started again, and the first category was a very interesting one: Above the Clouds. The idea of an industrial futuristic city built up into the clouds caught my imagination especially after finding some super cool concept art in a book I have. The challenge of course was executing something like that with just 101 parts. I didn’t want to work in micro-scale this time, so ended up relying on lots of large elements to fill out the structures. And I did use all 101 elements.

My build for week 2 of the RogueOlympics. This week’s theme is ‘Adventure’. I’ve wanted to play around more with character builds and our (very limited) Bionicle parts for a while now, especially after going back to look at many of Brickthing’s works. Starting off with something large seemed a bit daunting though, so I figured it would be perfect to keep it under 101 parts and use it for the RogueOlympics – yet another thing I’ve been wanting to build for. I wasn’t counting parts as I was building this guy, so I was a little nervous if I would stay under the 101 piece limit. But as it turns out, the whole build ended up only being 68 parts! Guess I could have added some more. Ah well, I had a lot of fun with it, and that’s the important thing :D

Calavera (Sugar Skull) - LEGO bricksketch of a grey scale tattoo drawing.

Built for Round 3 of the RogueOlympics, with the theme of monochrome. Uses 95 parts.

Over on RogueBricks we have 101 element challenge going on – and over the next 8 weeks there'll be a different theme each week.

We called it RogueOlympics – marketing is everything :) Oh, and there's prizes, too!

Feel free to join if you feel like needing something to do in these times!

For the first week the theme is completely open so I decided to build a little interior. And what is more fun and whimsical than a child's room?

Enjoy!

Rogue Olympics round two and the theme is Internet.

This was one of my first ideas, for some reason I remembered the awesome Ralph Breaks the Internet movie.

The build uses a total of 99 parts.

*In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations. Exactly 101 parts are used for this MOC. Еnjoy it.

This is my entry to the 4th round of this year's RogueOlympics. The topic is 'Courage’. As always, the challenge is to use no more than 101 pieces. This piece of work consists of 97 pieces.

The idea was to display the fight of Hercules against Hydra, the monster that, according to the Disney movie, for every chopped off head regrows three new ones. As a big fan of the animation movie, this came to my mind immediately. After a huge struggle with the piece limit that was quite a challenge at this scale, I struggled even more with the lighting I had imagined for the scene. In the end, it looks too artificial to me but I did learn a lot about how adjust my light sources. Let's see if that will impact my future photos.

Anyways, hope you like it!
