Is the mouse attacking the kitchen or the mousetrap attacking the mouse?

My build for Rogue Olympics 2025 Round 6 with the theme "Attack".

It was either this or an AED for heart attack.

78 pieces were used.

See the post on Rogue Bricks: roguebricks.de/forum/index.php?thread/5194-mousetrap/

Some days ago a lovely friend sent the little robot Sporty to me. As a thank you I built a bike for the robot and named it after her. This one is also my entry for the first round of the annual contest "RogueOlympics" on www.RogueBricks.de were everybody can participate the next 8 weeks. Just check the site if you are interested.

The challenge in the first round is "Free build with 101 parts".

Sporty is from the theme Duplo Explore: Little Robots. And there are more of them :D

Rogue Olympics is back! The cool “little” contest, where you got to use only 101 parts and come up with sweet LEGO builds!

The first round theme is Twilight and I made Midna, the Twilight Princess from The Legend of Zelda.

Everything about the contest can be found at roguebricks.de.

Built for Round 2 of the RogueOlympics. Uses 100 parts.

It is time for RogueOlympics again, where every round we have to get by with no more than 101 bricks. Round one: Above the clouds (and a Sky-Pirate who really wants to get down again)

RogueOlympics Lego Contest @ Roguebricks LUG, a contest of 8 rounds in which you use no more than 101 bricks per round.

Round 2: Internet

Third round of this year’s RogueOlympics over on RogueBricks. This week's topic is 'Einfarbig' ('Monochrome').

This little fella may be enjoying the best day of its life: taking a bath in cheese slopes, surrounded by nothing but cheesy cheeseness.

I arranged the scene using different submodels for each piece of cheese. They were rendered individually, letting me add depth cues to the final image. In total, I used 93 Lego bricks.

The RogueOlympics is a contest that anyone can join. Each week, there is a different topic, asking you to express your idea using not more than 101 bricks.

My entry for the RogueOlympics Round 5 - Big and Small

RogueOlympics is back and of course I had to participate again. The first round’s prompt was “Music” so I made this simple music box. It uses 100 elements, is complete on all sides, and the crank turns the cylinder which in a real music box would in turn pluck different teeth of the steel comb to create the melody.

My first build for the first week of the RogueOlympics and also my first Moc for this year.

My entry for RogueOlympics 2021 round five.

My Entry for the RogueOlympics 2020 Week 4 where you have to build a MOC with the limit of max 101 Legoparts.

This week's theme: Hidden

This bike can only be seen from one direction and with a minimum distance of 4 meters.

I am always happy when I can inspire someone with my models and building techniques.

Be fair and do not claim these techniques or my fotos as your own!

What an insane year, my friends !

2020 was and is probably the most bizarrre and extraordinary year we will ever know.

A global pandemic forced us all to changes our lives completly and for me there was also a big change in my Lego-life this year.

Since all events, meetings and exhibitions were canceled, I decided in April for the first time to become active online and join a Lego Forum; RogueBricks.

There I also started my very first Competition, the RogueOlympics, where you had to build small thinks with just 101 pieces in one week.

After that I built over 30 new Mocs until Christmas and explored Lego Themes, Topics and Worlds I have never tried or seen before.

I didn't leave out any competition, whether Sommer Joust, Nine Kingdoms, Tiny World of Wonders or Mechtober.

I have gained so many new experiences and friends this year and I'm just so grateful for alls this. Thanks to all the great people I've met (online) in 2020 :)

I'm looking forward to 2021 !!

This MOC is neither complex nor stylish, but I finished it just in time. Calibrated with nothing but an hourglass, it works precisely!

This is my entry to RogueOlympics Round 8.

Next round of the actual contest on RogueBricks.de

This time the topic is ,mechanical'. And of course again with not more than 101 elements.

So I picked two LEGO container carts with handholds (30150) and put all the mechanical stuff inside to let the HipHop Minifigs do some breakdancing.

I guess totally not more than 60 parts. So, this is the smallest HipHop Stage in the (LEGO) world.

King Insatiabilis, the Lord of Gluttony.

Inspired by the work of the Italian painter Guiseppe Arcimboldo, specifically his "teste composte" (composite heads).

This is my entry to RogueOlympics Round 3.

8th and last round of the RogueOlympics, the 101 parts challenge on the German RLOC RogueBricks.

This time the theme was "Upside Down". I had some ideas about it but constantly had Pirates Of The Caribbean and "Up Is Down" in my head.

This time no Little Robot involved and I needed only 61 parts.

Albert Einstein did not work directly on the atom bomb. But Einstein was the father of the bomb in two important ways: 1) it was his initiative which started U.S. bomb research; 2) it was his equation (E = mc2) which made the atomic bomb theoretically possible.” ...

After a few failed attempts/weeks off, back with RogueOlympics 101 brick challenge.

This week's theme is: Reaction.

Here's a history book page talking about the interesting chain reaction that lead to the most important Chain Reaction.

I've started unofficially playing along with RogueOlympics, using their weekly prompts as inspiration. This one clocks in at 79 bricks, and I think perfectly tackles this week's theme of 'Magic.'

I may try to repurpose this as a BrickCon trophy if I can find a proper theme for it.

This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2022 Round 1, with the topic "Musik / Music". The RogueOlympics are a build contest by the RogueBricks Community, with each week featuring a new topic and a part limit of just 101 pieces (which my entry is just short of 1).

In some relation to my previous project, the primary inspiration for this was Adolph Menzel's painting of Frederick the Great playing the flute at Sanssouci. However, the build is only loosely inspired by it in that it shows a chamber music ensemble from supposedly the 18th century, but without any pretense for historical accuracy. Like the painting, however, I tried to somewhat capture the lighting atmosphere, albeit more by postprocessing (although, I actually photographed it in candle light, too). I might have overdone it a little, but then again, you can hardly ever have enough orange. ;-)

Not sure if you can still make out the notes on the music stand, but it's a little homage to another inspiration for this build and its endeavours of capturing Baroque lighting.

My entry to the 4th round of this years Rogue Olympics, theme: "Garden".

I used exactly 101 parts for this build.

1,000,000 tons of steel

100,000 lives at stake

100 minutes to impact

...101 pieces to build

This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2022 Round 6, with the topic "Impuls / Impulse". The RogueOlympics are a build contest by the RogueBricks Community, with each week featuring a new topic and a part limit of just 101 pieces (which I'm using exactly).

I took the more physical meaning of impulse/momentum and built something heavy and fast, the runaway train 777 from Tony Scott's last film Unstoppable. It's basically an AC4400CW locomotive from General Electrics, at a scale of about 1:87.

RogueOlympics Round 3 "monochrome" with only 101 bricks

The RogueOlympics theme this week was “Reaction”.

I thought about doing a variety of things but wasn’t feeling very excited about any, until something with magnets crossed my mind. This is a very simple kinetic sculpture with a magnetic pendulum ‘reacting’ to a rotating magnet controlled via gear.

Parts count is 95 this week, if you consider each magnet to be two elements (holder and magnet itself).

This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2024 Round 3, with the topic "Volumen / Volume". The RogueOlympics are a build contest by the RogueBricks Community, with each week featuring a new topic and a part limit of just 101 pieces (I used 45, including the light fixture, technically twice).

This was a really abstract topic again, so I went with the more mathematical meaning of volume, complete with its evocations of space, 3-dimensionality, bodies and volumetric media and built something that was on my list for quite a while, a LEGO homage to the classic Cornell Box. I also added a Stanford Bunny and a Utah Teapot to the scene, for some more references to computer graphics history. And in true spirit of the Cornell Box, I added a rendering next to the real photo. But while I managed to get the scene and perspective somewhat matching, I didn't really have the time, dedication and experience with Blender and photography to match the lighting and exposure of the rendering all too closely to what my phone produced.

My Online-LUG is now 5 years old. Oh and this is also my entry for the seventh round of RogueOlympics, the topic is birthday and we were not allowed to use more then 101 bricks

My entry for the RogueOlympics Round 3

Built for Rogue Olympics and the theme for the sixth round is Impulse!

In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations (this one is 66). You can join the contest in any round on Rogue Bricks Forum!

Tiny is one of the Little Robots and loves to stroll through the woods. On one day he found a mysterious place there. A sword stuck in a stone. The moment he was about to touch the sword, it was surrounded with a sparkling and magical light. He decided to free it from its stone sheath... The rest is history - and filmed by Disney with other well known characters.

My entry for the 4th round of the RogueOlympics (101 parts challenge) on www.RogueBrics.de

This weeks theme was "magical" and I directly thought about Disney and the story about Merlin and Excalibur. So I decided to built this story but of course with a little twist, because I wanted to use a Little Robot again. I also used trees from Duplo and from the late 60ies.

Round 5 of the Rogue Olympics and the theme is Chains. This one was a bit harder for me and with less time to build, so I decided to do some blockchains :D And the easiest way was to build a NFT. You might recognize it or not :) This is 1/1 from my Rogue Ape Yacht Club

The build is 42 pieces.

Eighth and final round of this year’s RogueOlympics over on RogueBricks. This week's topic is 'Upside Down'.

The topic made me remember the 'Top Spin' ride that can be found on many fairs in Germany. It leaves people hanging upside down while spraying water from below. The ride will never be forgotten as I was so scared of it at a younger age.

Nowadays, the positive memories prevail: the magical atmosphere, the smell of candy and vivid colors of rides and lights. The displayed scene captures those memories; the forced perspective helped convey a sense of scale.

The RogueOlympics are a contest that anyone can join. Each week, there is a different topic, asking you to express your idea using not more than 101 bricks. This entry uses 99 pieces.

Heat Miser and Snow Miser are the keepers of hot and cold weather introduced in the 1974 TV special The Year Without a Santa Claus. They seemed extremely appropriate for this week's Rogue Olympics theme of Temperature.

In addition to this, I played with color temperature in my design and lighting to place Heat Miser in warm lighting with warm colors and Cold Miser in cold lighting with cold colors.

Finally, I thought it would be fitting to use a thermometer element as Cold Miser's nose.

This uses the full allowance of 101 parts. I miscounted on my initial draft and had 111, but I barely managed to winnow it down.

Build for the RogueOlympics 2023 Round 1.

The rule was to build "above the clouds", so I chose to build how the german song "Über den Wolken" describes the ground-situation.

RogueOlympics 2023, Round 4 - Garden. As in every round, i was limited to 101 parts

This is my entry for the sixth round of RogueOlympics 2022, "Impuls" (impulse).

When two bumper cars crashed one of the drivers became well aware of the physics of impulse...

Enjoy!

At the moment there are the RogueOlympics going on on www.RogueBricks.de

The second challenge was again to build with a maximum of 101 elements. Topic was "Two Dimensions".

I did it! Finished this years Rogue Olympics. Her you can see all my entries. Starting on top clockwise:

1. Above the clouds

2. Internet

3. Risk

4. Garden

5. Chain

6. Wild

My entry for The Rogue Olympics, Round 2. It contains exactly 101 pieces.

The inverted wheel used as a cauldron is NOT my original idea, it actually comes from two wonderful MOCs: "Brickscalibur 2023 Trophy: The Witch" and "101 Bricks: Magical Misfortune" both built by

Markus Rollbühler. I've just slightly modified and improving it.

No ducks that time... He wanted to stay solid and not become liquid ;)

here's a little collage of all my entries for this year's Rogue Olympics.

I am really pleased with all my builds. I feel like for the first week I didn't really know what I was doing yet, and while I like the main character, campfire and the wonky trees, the stuff around it feels a bit disjointed and too focused on just filling the screen. I feel like week two onwards I hit a nice stride.

That’s my entry for round 3 of RogueOlympics 2022. Topic this time: „Bon appetit“… so hopefully he can take it. 😅

As usual for this contest only 101 parts are allowed, I used exactly 100 to build it.

This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2021 Round 8, with the topic "Upside Down". The RogueOlympics are a build contest by the RogueBricks Community, with each week featuring a new topic and a part limit of just 101 pieces (which my entry reaches exactly).

I really struggled with the topic this time, but I ultimately settled on the idea of two mirrored versions of a scene and turned to the topic of environmental considerations again. It is a depiction of the reality of energy production and its idealized mirror image up in the sky, symbolizing humanity's striving for cleaner energy and a more sustainable life, a goal that is not yet reached by actual reality (if it ever will be). This way it's also a fitting model for Earth Day, albeit 3 days late.

I myself had at first rather lofty aspirations with the model, trying to build a whole cityscape and maybe putting the mirror image into a lake's reflection rather than the sky. But in reality I quickly turned those aspiations down, concentrating on energy alone. This more focused topic also makes it a neat parable for the "Energiewende" specifically.

Another full year brought to a close! I was pleasantly surprised as I compiled this how many models there were. At times it felt like I wasn't getting much building in.

Ended up with 24 MOCs (not all are pictured).

Highlights included:

- Brickscalibur

- Guilds of Historica Challenge 11

- Febrovery

- RogueOlympics

- Hosting another amazing Summer Joust

- SHIPtember

- Skaerbaek, where I got to say hello to many friends despite only visiting on Saturday.

- Creations for Charity

- Novvember

- Wandering Skies

- Seeing 5 more products hit shelves. Was especially rewarding working on the first Adults Minecraft set!

Thanks everyone for continuing to make the LEGO community such a fun and friendly place :)

If you had any particular favorites from my 2024 builds, would love to hear which they were!

I made it that way. So that perhaps the boys that we lost in the war might stand and come home again. Home to farm, work, have children. To live long, full lives. Perhaps my own son might come home again. I'm sorry if I've offended anybody. I hope you enjoy my clock.

This is my entry for RogueOlympics 2025 Round 3, with the topic "Rückwärts / Backwards". The RogueOlympics are a build contest by the RogueBricks Community, with each week featuring a new topic and a part limit of just 101 pieces (which I used exactly).

I struggled a bit to come up with an idea but I ultimately built Mr. Gateau and his clock from the prologue of the film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It tells the story of the blind clockmaker Mr. Gateau who is hired in 1918 to build a new clock for the train station in New Orleans. But when he learns that his son died in the Great War, he makes the clock run backwards as a memorial for the fallen soldiers.

This is my entry for round 6 of RogueOlympics 2025 with the theme word of "Attack."

This uses 95 parts out of the 101 part limit.

This is for Rogue Olympics Round 1. In each round builders must use maximum of 101 parts to make their creations. I've used exactly 57 pieces.

It's an open theme, so I chose to do a Star Wars one. Some of you know how much I like the Razor Crest and I love to build new version of it. So here's another one :)
