Thanks to Alan, Adam, Brendan and Mike for letting me share this spot during that beautiful sunset. I was able to shoot only one bracket and I've had a difficult time getting a good result with post. This may be the best I could get out of the bracket so I hope to get another chance at this on our next trip.
Thanks for looking and have a great day.
Mark Twain navigates the Rivers of America at Disneyland...This scene is a relatively rare occurrence at Disneyland due to the preparations and showing of Fantasmic, the nighttime fireworks and light show performed here during Summer and peak holiday times. Dusk usually finds both Mark Twain and Columbia undergoing transformations for their appearances in the show.
On this evening, we had gathered for dinner along the Rivers of America during the meetup with Corey Dorsey and his posse while they were in town. Mark Twain had gone around once, and was preparing to depart again when I decided that I had to have a try at capturing the scene...
New Orleans Square in Disneyland may not be the real Big Easy, but how often in the actual New Orleans do you see a jazz band come floating down the river to play some tunes for passersby? At Disneyland's Rivers of America, you can regularly see the Jambalaya Jazz Band do exactly that!

For those of you who have been following at home, we had a photo meet recently at the DLR during which we decided it would be fun to shoot the "Believe In Holiday Magic" fireworks from New Orleans Square back over the Mark Twain. Just as we had set up our tripods and were ready to shoot, they turned out all the lights on the Mark Twain and the dock. As the guys had set up specifically to get the Mark Twain lights under the fireworks, I was very bummed. I felt better after someone suggested that we should shoot the lights after they came back up and layer them back in, which is what Hot Sauce and Tiki Mike have already done. Yesterday, however, Gregg Cooper posted a great HDR shot of the boat without the lights which worked very well, so I thought I would give it a try. The above is a single exposure on which I layered quite a bit in an attempt to get the Twain visible against the fireworks and surrounding Frontierland lights that were left on.
Shot with the Nikkor 18-200 VR.
This was a hard shot to make work (taken from the Rivers of America) but I think it turned out okay.

An all too common view of the Liberty Belle, but as a photographer, how can you pass up a reflection like that?
Sorry for lack of flickr activity lately... will try to catch up over the next couple of days.
