Disneyland Forever was a beautiful fireworks show. I photographed it many times from many places in the park. The Rivers of America was one of my favorite spots. On the final night this past Monday, I didn’t bring my tripod. I didn’t pick up my camera. I just wanted to watch and reflect on what an incredible year it’s been at Disneyland during the Diamond Celebration…This..is my land’ and home. I wouldn’t change a thing. You and me, making memories? Today and forever. Always.
On the Rivers of America.
I took this photo earlier this year before the ride closed down for construction. It is scheduled to reopen in the summer of 2017.

The Liberty Belle Riverboat takes guests of Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom around a half-mile scenic journey on the Rivers of America.

Liberty Belle riverboat cruising past the Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square on the Rivers of America at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida on Sunday, May 23, 2021.
As dawn breaks over the Rivers of America, a weary cast of travelers holds out for the 5:45 am departure on the Mark Twain.
At this point during the Disney Side 24 hour event, I had been carrying my tripod for about 15 hours in hopes of catching some golden light. The cloud cover lingered and left us instead with soft periwinkle light. Although we didn't catch any golden rays that morning, we made it to the Haunted Mansion just in time for a 6 am ride to end (or begin) the day.
About the photo:
This photo was a fun (and tough) one to process. I realized that I took two different shots that would work well stitched together as a panoramic. The only problem was, I did not take them with that in mind originally and they were different focal lengths. Thanks to some work in Photoshop using layer masks, scaling and transforming the layer, I was able to get the wide shot I was looking for.
Disney Flickr Day
The guys at the ISO5571 Podcast have made today "National Post a Disney Photo Day", in the hopes of getting the Disney community back to the way it use to be. I think it is a great idea and I am looking forward to posting photos on a regular basis again myself. In celebration of this new holiday, if you post a photo today and tweet it to @disphotoblog or @iso5571, we will retweet it and also post some of them on the Disney Photography Blog later in the day.
Have a great day
Just revisiting the classic view of the Liberty Belle passing beside Harper's Mill and Tom Sawyer Island. Thanks and have a great day.
Here we see the Mark Twain docked at Fowler's Inn, where it has rented a room for the next year during the river re-routing.
Edit: Thank you for Explore, everyone!

On my last trip to Disneyland, a gorgeous twilight allowed for photos like this one of Rivers of America.

Finally took my telephoto lens with me to get the shots of Fantasmic that I've always wanted! Hope you enjoy :) This one is my favorite shot of Mickey in the beginning of the show!

The story behind this photo is that we were waving to Joseph's and Chrissy's friend Paul who was piloting the Columbia Sailing Ship. He then announced to the guests that if they looked to the Starboard side, they'd see the three most dangerous animals on island. LOL!

I usually post something about Harper's Mill once a year. I was looking through my 2013 set tonight and realized I hadn't done so. :-)
It isn't the grand spectacle fireworks photo that most people post on Fridays, but I thought it was a fun shot from Fantasmic at Disneyland. Something about the interaction between light, fire and water always fascinates me.

This is a photo I had wanted to re-edit for some time and finally did it this weekend. I had taken three brackets before the fireworks had started with the idea of processing it as a separate shot and then including the fireworks as a new layer in Photoshop. I think it is much better than the original shot I had posted almost two years ago (seen here).
Have a great day

Today's photo tour takes us to a shot of Harper's Mill and the Liberty Belle. Once again, this shot was taken at the 24hr event in the calm of the early morning, around 2:15 am. The water was like glass and the reflections were as perfect as they could be. You can almost rotate this photo and not know which side is the actual photo and which is the reflection. This was truly the best conditions I have ever had for reflections. To top it all off, and I talk about this lens a lot, I used my trusty Sigma, 35mm, 1.4 Art lens that whole night. It always amazes me at the sharpness and clarity that this lens produces. Do you own this awesome lens? Have a magical day!
I'm not usually one to shoot the fireworks but this angle seemed to demand my attention when I happened upon it.

It's a quiet night along the banks of the Rivers of America.
It was a very quiet and wonderful night of shooting for Gregg Cooper, Bill McIntosh and myself as we had New Orleans Square virtually to ourselves for almost an hour last week.
Today's photo tour sends us to the Magic Kingdom for a shot of the Rivers of America with my trusty Sigma, 35mm, 1.4 Art lens. The night I shot this or should I say, the morning I shot this because it was taken at 2:00 am, the water was a smooth as glass. The reflections were out of this world, creating what I think, is one of my favorite photos of the whole trip. Everything was just perfect that morning and I was very pleased with the result. Have you ever had the perfect conditions for a shot? Have a great weekend!

Here’s another shot of Wishes from the Rivers of America perspective. On a night with no wind or rain, you can really get some nice reflections. In this one, I really like how the water filters out some of the chaos of the bursts.
Thanks for looking!
