IX Revamp - The Grackle Queen
Front w/o tails
Character by Molly Raye
Head and leg design heavily inspired by Eero Okkonen
This McIntosh Museum image is of the Dickens barn moved to the site. William Henry Dickens was an original settler in the valley. One web site said W.H. jr. was a grand son of Charlse Dickens, the UK writer but I found no W.H. listed as scion for the writer. W.H. was a rampant farmer- builder in Longmont.
The Museum is on Highway #66 northwest of Largemont. It was closed for the C)-VID scourge when insufficient folks drank bleach. The museum upgraded and cleaned up the structures to reopen.
I had to storm through the thick pasture grasses to just get over here. Get the kids out here - new exhibits in the Dickens red barn. The shot was far more applicable than I first thought after chatting with caretaker, Jim Drew about the gushing water. Here it is - max irrigation and a busy road to Rocky Mountain National Park.
Standardized Revamp: Orde
The first Toa of Psionics, who notably failed to repress the Zyglak in the early history of the Matoran Universe. Despite the precise nature of his Elemental Powers, Orde possesses a natural reserve of pent-up energy, making him impulsive and passionate.
For a long time now I have headcanoned him wearing a Kanohi Sanok since the physicality of its power matches his abrasive personality.

A revamp of #8696 Bitil, the yellow Mistika Makuta.
~
In my humble opinion, Bitil is the worst Bionicle canister set ever released. Ever.
For me, Bionicle didn't end in 2010 with the Stars and the golden armour, the planets and the giant robots.
No. It ended the moment I first gazed upon Bitil.
Compared to the other Makuta, he's just so goofy. He's just so weird. He's just so lame.
His colours? Ew. His 'swords'? Ugh. His torso? Bruh.
And his neck. His NECK. Don't get me started on his neck...
I had to ask myself: Where was his power? Where was his menace? Where was his evil? And most importantly, where was a redeeming quality that justified the loss of my hard-earned savings? Recession days, they hurt.
So right there and then, we decided that we would never buy a Bionicle from the store ever again.
Bitil. Just might be worse than Good Guy.
~
In this revamp, I really wanted to execute on the 'fantasy' Bitil was going for: A fearsome, monstrous, dangerous and bright yellow insectoid.
As well as delivering on existing features like his red shoulder spikes, wings and long-limbed, inhuman proportions, I took some other liberties also, such as adapting those 'swords' into forelimbs and introducing some sand-green.
Features folding wings and poseable torso, plus he comfortably fits an Av-Matoran on his back.
My entry for BZPower's July Flickr contest and an addition to the BZPower Karda Nui table at Brickfair Virginia along with Lewa and Tanma. I don't know what other pictures to take, so let me know if you want to see other angles.
The design was based on a sketch I made of Krika a little while ago, with an insect-like body and carapace and two little arms out front. I also gave him the claws from the Mistika animation. Originally, I was planning on giving him opening wings with a Nyrah Ghost Blaster inside, but it didn't work out.
Also, Krika is one of my favorite characters in the Bionicle storyline. He seemed like a terrible Makuta, then surprised everyone by trying to make it right in the end.
Using cheese slopes and various brackets, the side panels are now much more curved. The windows are partially tinted and the front is a lot tidier.
Tarix #Revamp
My favourite #Glatorian reimagined more prominently as a #gladiator, with some asymmetry throughout. Wanted to keep the clever horns used on the shoulder armour on one side, which necessitated that the arms be different.
Trent Barton has revamped the sixes using a batch of Optare Versas previously on the rainbow one corridor where they were displaced by new buses. These in turn have seen the Scanias off. Here 845 - YJ14 BUE has arrived at Derby with a 6.4 from Belper.
"Shunned by their creators and hated and feared throughout the universe, the bitter, savage Zyglak retreated to the dark places of the world. There they waited, brooding over their fate and hating the Matoran and all who honored Mata Nui."
it's a hottie lol
The horn idea was part of a combo between Lava Beast and Storm Beast that was just... alright but not original.
Speaking of the original Beasts, Lava is good but has some weak connection points and Storm Beast is my fave 'cause of the functions and parts (Mmm, Metru blue... <3)
"Well, I thought this was going to be an easy job... small caravan, short route, far from Vorox nests... a cinch.
I should have remembered - this is Bara Magna.
There are no easy jobs here."
— Gelu, A Hero Reborn
~
Some time ago I did a little doodle of Gelu, where I envisioned him as a the rugged 'gladiator' the Glatorian tended to be.
In this revamp, I strove to retain as many elements of the original set as I could (including the life-counter and those awful gen-1 limbs).
At the same time, conversely, I took many liberties with his Chestplate, the positioning of his 'snowflakes', his weapons, and by nerfing his feet.
Quite happy with this - the system-chest was a real blast to work on.
He's finally done! So much happier with his build in every way now, the old version just looks sloppy to my eyes now.

Thanks so much for looking and have a great day!
DRS 68034 & 68004 'Rapid' after a brief pause leave Carlisle's platform 3 working 6M23 12:17 Hunterston LL to Sellafield B.N.F. 08/11/2017.
The prophesied 7th Toa, come to stop the Makuta from keeping his own brother in an eternal sleep.
I took some inspiration from Bukkey's Takanuva, mainly how the arms are connected, the legs and the staff.
When i first saw the breakout series of Rocka, I though "gee, this guy is put together with loads of random bits! I can do better than that!"
So I did. (imo)
Never expected to like Vastus back in the day but recent years have made him one of my favorite sets!
Removed the Hordika legs and beefed up the torso. Lots of subtle modifications to make Vastus stand out.
My fourth build for Mechtober '23. It should be no surprise that this time, I revamped 7316: Excavation Searcher.
I liked the claw design I'd come up with so much, I gave this mech two of 'em instead of the claw+laser drill combo in the original set. I also opted to get rid of most of the "extra" features from the set, like the small flying craft and third crane arm, so this is more like the mecha equivalent of a pickup truck.
Here's Takanuva for day 7 of The 9 Day Revamp To Christmas.

Hey, look! I actually built a Bionicle model!
This was partially inspired by MrBoltTron's amazing Bionicle and Hero Factory builds. I've been meaning to build something using the new Bionicle parts for a while, but didn't have enough of the sets to do it until recently. So here's a Pohatu figure! Yeah!
For Bio-Cup 2017
For this revamp I really wanted to make Bitil more insect like, giving him antennas and teeth, as well as stick-like legs with hairs on them. Disgusting was what I was going for, so I added the green "drool".
