At a first glance the changes may appear slight, but this comparison picture shows that, apart from the roof, almost everything has been rebuilt and even the roof isn't completely unchanged.

Made for Hero February over on Instagram.

Just a fun little build primarily for my own enjoyment, made with the goal of using only pieces I currently have in my collection and of course, finishing before the end of the month.

Nitroblast and the Fire Villains are definitely a soft spot for me in the HF Roster, with some very charming sets and interesting designs from the earliest days of CCBS. With this revamp I wanted to honor the most unique and iconic features from the original, while doing my best to balance a cleaner, sleeker design with the Fire Villain's signature style of spikes, flames and jet engines.

It was a lot of fun to tackle a weirder character and design, without the pressures of more humanoid proportions and techniques.

I hope you all enjoy!

I had built this as a test for a new build, it turned out alright. Sadly Nuparu here was soon scrapped for parts afterwords. He was too good for this world.

This revamp is for the 2017 Bio Cup.

I wanted to revamp a system set for this first eliminatory round. Exo Force seemed like the perfect option for this. It gave me a chance to make the mech more sleek and spiderlike. This revamp should be pretty similar in size to the original. The parts concentration is larger due to the technic in it.

Made this thing some time ago, completely forgot to post it. Turned out alright for a quick MOC, but boy was it a pain to re-assemble at the expo.

So this is a small teaser of some revamps/mods I've done to some of my sets. This also serves as another blacklight test. I think this turned out alot better than my prior attempts at capturing images while using my blacklight.

Minor upgrade to the tilt bracket this week .. added a graduation ring, delrin bushes and beefed up the thing overall. Also upgraded the L bracket to accomodate the cable ports n the left side of the chassis.

This is the setup shot at the Shallows today.

(Who cares about my fresh sardines?!!!)

Giving the term "earth dragon" a whole new look and meaning. Hopefully i get this done tomorrow, otherwise i might have to push it into saturday morning, but it needs to get done.

“Holy Gadunka!”

It took me a few years to appreciate the scuba-suit motif for Nuparu, though looking back it makes a lot of sense. The flipper-like feet and stylized armor pieces made for fantastic additions and I’ve even grown to like the use of Piraka arms.

This revamp borrows heavily from a Nuparu Mahri revamp done by @the_matoran especially the legs, though I’ve added my own twist.

No love for the Aqua Blaster Blade in this household, I’m afraid. Always thought it was silly to give Nuparu a third weapon when he doesn’t have enough hands to carry them. Plus I love the shield element.

Julius "The Tech-Head" Nex is a newer hero, they're a master with anything tech related. Nex is fast, strong and smart. The real deal.

Leader of the Toa Mangai and legendary Toa of Fire. Wise, courageous, and noble beyond his years, Lhikan knows the value of what true strength is and has vowed to defend the innocent at the risk of his own life.

This is my loosely movie-accurate rendering of him. Kind of a middleground between the fingerless Metrubuilds I’ve been using for the other Toa Mangai and the intensely movie-accurate products of Project: Metru.

I always seem to be making customs late at night :p accidentally sealed in some hairs here... I'll try to get them out. Anyways, here's Boss! He has a completely new design than last time, no decals are the same as they were before. The helmet looks really nice imo, the new visor looks much better. He looks a little reddish in the pic, but in person, he's orange :p Let me know what you all think, and if you're gonna fave, comment too please! Thanks!

He's finally done! So much happier with his build in every way now, the old version just looks sloppy to my eyes now.

Thanks so much for looking and have a great day!

Here's my entry for the first day of VignWeek 2022. The prompt is Classic Set Revamp and I chose set 6949 Robo-Guardian from 1994.

I owned the set as a kid, so I still has some parts and I managed to keep some of the key feature of the set.

To say Hewkii Mahri was one of the more divisive sets of the entire BIONICLE line feels like quite an understatement. Not only was he released in the years of the toyline where LEGO was unsure which color scheme to market their Stone characters under, but this was also his second recolor after only three previous releases. Add to the mix the emphasis on the Cordak Blaster that cost the figure his entire right hand, the attachment for the Garai more akin to a Piraka spine than any mask we’d seen previously, and the second instance of the character packaged with chains, poor Hewkii would be the recipient of especially harsh criticism from fans for years to come.

There’s a certain charm to this set though, and I always appreciated the new parts it included as well as the Pohatu-esque oddities you won’t find outside of Po-Koro. Hewkii was modeled by BIONICLE Design Manager Christoffer Raundahl, who also designed Kongu Mahri, as well as Tahu, Kopaka, the Bohrok, the Bahrag and the Slizers. Today, I hope to do the figure some justice.

With this revamp I’ve taken significant steps to bulk up Hewkii’s armor and emulate the crab motif of the Garai. I’ve also added more black to his coloration and padded out the thigh armor with Roborider heads. It was important to keep the shoulder blades intact as they were one of the most memorable parts of the original set for me, though I opted to swap the Piraka arm for black to match his other limbs. With a reinforced Aqua Warblade and a reuse of Nuparu’s Inika shoulders as shinpads, I hope you all agree I’ve done the all-star Kolhii champion some justice.

What do you think of Hewkii Mahri? What do you think of this revamp? Please consider leaving a thoughtful comment down below!

This painting done and posted earlier on this photostream looked a bit dull and hence has been revamped with more colour.

The city was overhauled for three nights in an effort to attract people back unto the streets at night. A very laudable effort with a huge support from the private sector. My wish is that the corporate world would keep the lights on when the party is over.

I’m happy to say I’m satisfied with this new version especially compared to the previous one.

Raanu, leader of the fire tribe.

"may your swords and shields preserve the peace."

This was my substitute build of Raanu for the glatorian collab, but at the end it wasn't needed anymore. I still got a kick out of this build, cus it basically was a one day build and it was fun to work with the colors and weapons!

I hope I did it justice ;p
