"Shunned by their creators and hated and feared throughout the universe, the bitter, savage Zyglak retreated to the dark places of the world. There they waited, brooding over their fate and hating the Matoran and all who honored Mata Nui."

For Bio-Cup 2017

For this revamp I really wanted to make Bitil more insect like, giving him antennas and teeth, as well as stick-like legs with hairs on them. Disgusting was what I was going for, so I added the green "drool".

My revamp of Hero Factory set 6623.

Entry for the 2017 Bio-Cup.

A revamp of #8696 Bitil, the yellow Mistika Makuta.

~

In my humble opinion, Bitil is the worst Bionicle canister set ever released. Ever.

For me, Bionicle didn't end in 2010 with the Stars and the golden armour, the planets and the giant robots.

No. It ended the moment I first gazed upon Bitil.

Compared to the other Makuta, he's just so goofy. He's just so weird. He's just so lame.

His colours? Ew. His 'swords'? Ugh. His torso? Bruh.

And his neck. His NECK. Don't get me started on his neck...

I had to ask myself: Where was his power? Where was his menace? Where was his evil? And most importantly, where was a redeeming quality that justified the loss of my hard-earned savings? Recession days, they hurt.

So right there and then, we decided that we would never buy a Bionicle from the store ever again.

Bitil. Just might be worse than Good Guy.

In this revamp, I really wanted to execute on the 'fantasy' Bitil was going for: A fearsome, monstrous, dangerous and bright yellow insectoid.

As well as delivering on existing features like his red shoulder spikes, wings and long-limbed, inhuman proportions, I took some other liberties also, such as adapting those 'swords' into forelimbs and introducing some sand-green.

Features folding wings and poseable torso, plus he comfortably fits an Av-Matoran on his back.

I made this Kopaka revamp before Gali but had to post it later as I had to order his sword to complete this build. The basic idea was to resemble the original toa mata pieces while also allowing creative liberties. There’s a promotional poster out there of Kopaka carrying krana tied together so I thought that would be a cool thing to include.

I have a lot of other projects to get to, but I wanted to get this posted for the BZPower Flickr Contest. Admittedly, Vizuna got a bit of extra love in the details. I can't deny she's my favorite Protector.

Vizuna was a bit of a tricky build, especially in the torso to get all those details right. I thought I'd never find a decent chestplate until I saw those wonderful cleaver pieces that looked exactly like how I've drawn her. Vizuna also got a short skirt, her signature bow, and a bag for carrying supplies or messages. A lot of my Vizuna headcanons were inspired by the Bastion Breakers: fast, dependable, and always there in the knick of time with the help of her future-sensing vines on her legs.

Widely recognized as one of the best Toa Mahri, Hahli is an iconic set I’ve wanted to recreate for a while. Most of the revamp material online uses the “custom” hyper-feminine proportions and I’ve tried to avoid too radical a departure from her original set form.

I was lucky enough to pick up most of a complete set on ebay, which didn’t have a single cracked lime joint! Using those parts, I’ve managed to not only recreate the base set but also to reinforce it with my own modifications. The ankle guard design comes from torquetoys and I’m very happy with the shaping of the torso using the Nuva chest.

The prophesied 7th Toa, come to stop the Makuta from keeping his own brother in an eternal sleep.

I took some inspiration from Bukkey's Takanuva, mainly how the arms are connected, the legs and the staff.

Well, this project is just about wrapped up. I had a lot of fun with Kivoda's build, making him taller and lankier than the other Protectors (though I headcanon him as the youngest). Gali and Kivoda's armor always reminded me of wetsuits, so I tried to work that in there. I also appreciate the nod to my Gali Revamp in that chestpiece. Though I had headcanoned Kivoda as female and was rather shocked at the announcement that he was male, now I approve of the variety it provides to the Protectors.

Kivoda's "Sea Scooter" went through quite a few versions, but I'm very satisfied with how it turned out. I tried to work the spears in there, but they just didn't look great.

Back in 2013, as part of my movie vehicle collection, I built a model of the Milner Coupe from American Graffiti. I was reasonably happy with the result at the time, but when I saw the model again a few weeks ago (it had been in the UK until I was reunited with it at Stack Dubai) , I felt it could do with a make over. This month's LUGNuts challenge, the Deuces Wild, happens to be all about '32 coupés (and similar cars), so I had a go.

A revamp of my Self-MOC.

While revamping my self-moc, I kept the base skeleton of the previous iteration and added some new, more system-based designs. Other obvious changes would be the color scheme, replacing the somewhat generic black with grey. The upper torso was also a nightmare to build/revamp since the original skeleton had very few attachement points aside from some axle holes. But I endend up figuring something out with a lot of system. I also added some pouches to the sides of his abdomen. Other aspects I retained (that are worth pointing out) are the mobility of the limbs (he has two points of articulation in his elbows and knees), the axe and his arms are basically the same as the previous version but with some parts swapped out.

Comments and criticism is always appreciated.

Here's my next Bionicle MOC, Really happy with how the revamp turned out, Really happy with how posable she is, proud of the dress design, yeah really happy with it overall. Hope you enjoyed it :)

And lots more to come in the near future including:

- Those 3 other Bionicle MOC's

- The next Age of Ultron Diorama

- My Avengers Battle of New York Diorama

- A Daredevil MOC

- A system robot I made

- And heaps more Bionicle Inspiration Series episodes, a new Podcast and a funny spoof video coming very soon to my Youtube!

This is a slightly updated version of a model that I built more than nine years ago: an AC / Shelby Cobra. Using parts that weren't available at the time, I've been able to make the shape a bit curvier and smoother and improve some of the details.

“Holy Gadunka!”

It took me a few years to appreciate the scuba-suit motif for Nuparu, though looking back it makes a lot of sense. The flipper-like feet and stylized armor pieces made for fantastic additions and I’ve even grown to like the use of Piraka arms.

This revamp borrows heavily from a Nuparu Mahri revamp done by @the_matoran especially the legs, though I’ve added my own twist.

No love for the Aqua Blaster Blade in this household, I’m afraid. Always thought it was silly to give Nuparu a third weapon when he doesn’t have enough hands to carry them. Plus I love the shield element.

What do you think? Who will be the next revamp? Please consider leaving a thoughtful comment down below!

A Uniter revamp for Kopaka. Took several attempts to get something I was happy with.

The shield gave me particular trouble, but I ended up using the design of Jaller53.

Pretty self explanatory.

Toa of Okoto Revamps

Well, I got a duplicate Korgot for my birthday and wanted to do a comparison shot. No, I still haven't widened Korgot's shoulders. For one, I don't really like the look of it, and two, it makes her shoulder pads harder to attach. So she's probably staying as is.

Just one of the final shots of my Tahu and Kopaka revamps, it will probably be the last time I'll build something of the sort.

Now in gorgeous Farrow and Ball "Pale powder"

Another revamp of one of the original six Toa. This one is Tahu. I know people don't like the bohrok feet elbows, but there's something about them I really, really like.

Since these are more sketch-MOCs, quick builds instead of super serious models, I feel pretty okay with that. Same with the grey. Unfortunately, the parts on the abdomen only come in grey or black, but the parts holding those only come in grey. So I had to work grey into the colour scheme, so think of it as the mechanical detail underlying the entire character.

The legs are nearly wholesale taken from Lewa. We'll say it is for consistency between the three models.

I debated the mixed flame sword piece instead of the solid one, but in the end I liked this one better on this model.

Sassy, Eve and Todd

E. --- Sorry about that. [as she puts down her phone] The job really never ends. [with a sympathetic gaze at Sassy] But back to you. How's the salon doing? I haven't had a minute to stop by lately.

S. --- Things are going really great. I just hired a new stylist and he's amazing. His name is...

[Eve's phone begins to ring again]

E. --- Hold that thought... [she answers her cell] Hello... ummhmm.... Yes..... How many?... Who do you have in mind?... I don't know if that's a good idea.... Are you sure this is the best time?... Yes... I don't have a problem with it, this is just coming out of nowhere..... I understand... Trust me, I can make it happen.... It'll take some time though. I have to set up some meetings, some appointments.... Okay... Alright... Thank you. I'll be in touch. [she hangs up the phone] I'm so sorry. You know how manic the higher ups can be.

T. --- That sounded important. Whats going on?

E. --- [she replies nonchalantly] You know, everything. The usual.

S. --- Like what?

E. --- Nothing I can't handle. I welcome change.

[Sassy becomes increasingly intrigued]

S. --- What type of change? Someone's leaving again... or being let go? A new addition? New additions? Replacements?...

E. --- Yes!

Revamped the STARS Takanuva. But this one uses the Inika Build. With Technic for lower legs and Metru Shoulders for the upper armour.

My entry to the 2017 Bio-cup eliminatories, a revamp of 8957 Mine Mech.

Made for Hero February over on Instagram.

Just a fun little build primarily for my own enjoyment, made with the goal of using only pieces I currently have in my collection and of course, finishing before the end of the month.

Nitroblast and the Fire Villains are definitely a soft spot for me in the HF Roster, with some very charming sets and interesting designs from the earliest days of CCBS. With this revamp I wanted to honor the most unique and iconic features from the original, while doing my best to balance a cleaner, sleeker design with the Fire Villain's signature style of spikes, flames and jet engines.

It was a lot of fun to tackle a weirder character and design, without the pressures of more humanoid proportions and techniques.

I hope you all enjoy!
