Ex Go-Ahead London WVL 295 stands at Ensignbus on 1st March 2023. I do believe that this never ran again and was broken for parts retrieval and the remains sold for recycling.
The city of Klaipėda has been involved in maritime trade since as early as the 13th century, and probably during prehistoric times, since it is located on the Amber Road. For several centuries its administration and its merchants defended the port and competed with the Port of Danzig and the Port of Königsberg. It was heavily fortified. At the beginning of the 19th century the port was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Lithuania. Before World War I, the major cargo was timber. During the 20th century, mineral and cellulose enterprises were established in Lithuania, and became port commodities. Infrastructures supporting the fishing and shipbuilding industries were also built. In 1991, after Lithuanian independence was declared, the Klaipėda State Seaport Authority was founded. It administers the port and supports its integration into the larger scheme of Lithuanian transport. The Port Authority is responsible for the maintenance, reconstruction and modernisation of the port infrastructure, while loading and unloading operations are managed by separate independent terminals. The port's land and infrastructure belong to the state, but some privatisization is underway.
The Port of Klaipėda is the most northerly ice-free port in the Eastern part of the Baltic Sea. The port can accommodate ships of up to 250 meters in length with draughts of up to 13.5 meters. The port is served by two railway stations, and highways link Klaipėda to Moscow via Kaunas, Vilnius, and Minsk.
In 1997, 16.13 million tons of cargo were handled at the port, increasing to over 31 million tons in 2010. About 321,000 international passengers transhipped the port of Klaipėda in 2010, on ferries servicing Kiel and Mukran in Germany, Åhus in Sweden, and Copenhagen and Fredericia in Denmark. The port of Klaipėda is also the leading port among the Baltics by handling of containers (382 th. of TEU in 2011).

Astronaut Alan B. Shepard Jr., pilot of the Mercury-Redstone 3 (MR-3) suborbital spaceflight, is retrieved by a helicopter from the USS Lake Champlain during recovery operations in the western Atlantic Ocean. Shepard and the Mercury spacecraft designated the "Freedom 7" (floating in water below) were flown to the deck of the recovery ship within 11 minutes of splashdown. MR-3 was the United States' first human space mission.

A quite large dildo that is beyond the point of self-retrieval, in the rectum and sigmoid of a patient.
These cases are more frequent than you might imagine. Many of these patients will state that "they fell on it", or use some accidental method of rectal penetration as an explanation for why they are in the ER. Some even go so far as to say things such as: "I was attacked by a group of men who did this to me." Nearly all of these types of cases are patients who were trying to achieve or enhance sexual gratification through anal and rectal stimulation. What I do appreciate though, are the patients who are in this situation and just get brutally honest. "I was getting off on this thing in my ass and it went too deep." It's not that I don't respect the people that make excuses. I can't even imagine the horrific embarrassment of having to go to the ER to have a 'still vibrating' dildo removed from your rectum. Definitely a very personal thing, no matter who you are, and many would be too mortified to tell the truth to strangers. It's just that every now and then, someone comes in and says: "I love these things in my ass. I got one stuck and I can't get it out, will you help me?"
I respect that kind of honesty.

I have just returned home from a trip to Canada where it was cold and snowy. I have yet to put my boots away, but my dog Hester seems to have taken a shine to them. This was shot with my PENTAX K-1 and PENTAX D-FA 100mm f/2.8 Macro WR lens. The shot was developed using DxO PhotoLab 1.0.2. The result was stylised using ON1 Photo RAW 2017. Finally, a few unwanted artefacts were removed using Affinity Photo where a slight vignette was also applied.

Paddy dearly loves anything he can chase ... with permission. The bestest is the BALL, however retrieval is not a journey to be undertaken lightly if Auntie Elk is also playing as the latter does ball retrieval on a professional scale .. ie she'll foul if she's out of sight of the referee! So the antics i get up to are fun in managing to dupe Auntie Elk to go one way and send Paddy off in the direction of the ball, I could just put a lead on Elk .. but Paddy likes a bit of added spice as it makes getting it and outrunning Elk all the more fun!!
66424 Driver Paul Scrivens approaches Welney Road level crossing at Manea, at the head of 8Z57 15.40 Stowmarket DGL - Worksop Up Yard. [Pole, 2.5/6 sections (~3.4m)
This was taking 57002 Rail Express away from Stowmarket, it having been dumped there since developing a severe wheelflat (or wheelflats) while operating railhead treatment trains the previous autumn. In the consist, for brakeforce since the 57 has its brakes isolated, are PFA four-wheel flat wagon DRSL92740, and mark 2e BSO coaches 9508 and 9506; the two coaches are escort vehicles, officially classified RMA, and usually used on flask trains conveying waste from nuclear submarines, where they are staffed by armed personnel - the coaches have been modified by removing their gangway connections. DRS was vacating the sidings at Stowmarket, GBRf being the new operator of the East Anglia RHTTs from autumn 2023, and this was the last item of DRS rolling stock to leave.
The train was timed to run at a maximum of 35mph, and was therefore booked to be looped at several locations to allow other trains to overtake. The first pathing stop (of 22 minutes) should have been at Bury St. Edmunds, but the loop and yard there are out of use so the train sailed straight past! It then should have stood at Ely for a further 13 minutes, but paused at platform 3 for only a minute or so before being sent on its way - ahead of 2E80 from Ipswich to Peterborough, which should have overtaken it at at Bury. By Manea, 8Z57 was 36 minutes early, with 2E80 right behind it... 8Z57 was then booked to go in at March for an hour and a half, which it did - allowing a second shot further west.
I was only able to use the pole by a limited degree today as a result of the cable fault having returned (a new cable was by now on order) - the extension for my cable release comes in two sections, so I was able to continue to use just the lower section, but not extend the pole by more than this.

St. Julian's (Maltese: San Ġiljan) is a town in Malta situated along the coast, north of the country's capital, Valletta. It is known for tourism-oriented businesses, such as hotels, restaurants and nightclubs which are centred mainly in an area known as Paceville.
The town is subdivided into informal districts which are Paceville, Ta' Ġiorni, Tal-Għoqod, St Andrew's, as well as the regions surrounding St George's Bay, Spinola Bay, Balluta Bay, and Il-Qaliet cliffs.
St Julian's is a popular town, usually flowing with tourists, especially during the summer months. It is also a well-sought after destination by the Maltese.
The population of Saint Julian's is 10,261 people.
The town has only one skyscraper, the 98m tall Portomaso Tower.
The town is named after its patron saint; Saint Julian who is widely known as Julian the Hospitaller and Julian the Poor whereby he is the patron Saint of hunters. The town's flag is identical to the Belgian flag which has to do with the fact that it is thought that St Julian was Belgian (from Ath), despite the fact that it is disputed whether he was also from France (Le Mans) or Italy (Naples).
Before the reform to the Calendar of Saints, the memorial to St Julian was on January 27. Nowadays, the is celebrated on February 12, though in Malta an additional feast, in the spirit of the many summer feasts around the island, is celebrated on the last Sunday of August.

This image is another re-processing of an image I posted some time ago. I inadvertently learned some new techniques while I was messing about with DxO PhotoLab this morning. I also learned that its vignette correction is to be avoided. I ha d never noticed until recently that it actually introduced some banding into the image, even when it is exported to disk.

Typesetting: the retrieval of stored letters and the ordering of them according to a language's orthography for visual display.
During much of the letterpress era, movable type was composed by hand for each page.
Cast metal sorts were composited into words and lines of text and tightly bound together to make up a page image called a forme, with all letter faces exactly the same height to form an even surface of type. The forme was mounted in a press, inked, and an impression made on paper.
