We are glad to represent you a new #publicspace build by #FKramps this summer in Moscow! Master-plan for this beautification project was made by @gillespies_llp and appears to be a reference point of a living spaces development in our Russia. #Concreteskatepark, #Workout, #streetball, #tabletennis and some playgrounds - there are things for the residents to do, that's why we will apply this approach for a complex public space design in our future projects.

Infelizmente durante a pandemia, a violência doméstica cresceu assustadoramente”, reiterou.

The Forks of Cypress Cemetery is significant under criterion C for Art as it contains many fine examples of grave markers that represent the high end of antebellum funerary expressions in the western Tennessee River Valley in Alabama. Many fine obelisks and several tombstones illustrate the stone-carving skills of both local craftsmen and workshops from around the eastern United States. Limestone markers were more likely from local sources, as were the limestone bases of many of the marble markers. Among the marble markers are several that are signed by their makers or workshops. These include an obelisk by J. Sloan of Nashville, an obelisk by A. Gary of Boston, an obelisk by Hughes & Sharrod of Philadelphia, and an obelisk by L.H. and J.B. Fuller of St. Louis. A range of stylistic influences is evident in many of the markers, including Federal, Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, and Renaissance Revival motifs (as well as one twentieth century stone with some restrained Art Deco details). In addition to more geometric (and architectural) details, some of the stones feature fine representational and particularly floral relief sculpture.

The Forks of Cypress Cemetery is significant under criterion C for Architecture as the Jackson family cemetery wall is an exceptional example of the stonemason's art in early Alabama. The massive dimensions, stile, and sturdy dry-laid construction all characterize a structure which stands out among the walls around other family cemeteries in the Tennessee River Valley, which were more frequently of brick or less substantial stone construction. Only about six or so walls of similar sizable and dressed appearance are known to exist in northern Alabama.4 The wall displays both the skill of local craftsmen and the material predilections of a family whose patriarch was a first generation Irish immigrant and who perhaps opted for a wall which imitated or recalled the quintessential boundary markers of his homeland. Although the exact date of construction of the wall is unknown, location of early graves in relation to the wall indicates a probable date of before 1840 and a positive date of before 1865.

The Forks of Cypress Cemetery is significant under criterion A for Ethnic Heritage: Black as it contains one of the largest identified African American/slave cemeteries in northwest Alabama. With around 250 burials, slave cemetery was the final resting place for the Jackson family's substantial enslaved workforce. The burials, though unmarked, do reveal to some degree that a status hierarchy existed among the enslaved inhabitants of the Forks of Cypress and perhaps the Jacksons' other plantations. Traditionally slave jockeys were the only African Americans allowed to be buried within the walls of the family cemetery. A few depressions nearer the family cemetery probably mark the graves of treasured domestic servants. The majority of the field slaves and those without distinctive status within the household were buried on the bluff further away from the family cemetery. One headstone/footstone pairing in the center of the slave section of the cemetery shows at least one person who, while not important enough to be buried with the jockeys, had a high enough position to warrant a permanent stone marker. The slave cemetery has taken on somewhat mythical associations in recent years as it is almost certainly the interment place of African American author Alex Haley's great-grandmother, Ester or Queen Ester. Traditionally, James Jackson, Jr., (son and heir to James Jackson, the builder of the Forks), had at least one child with Queen Ester, who was the Jackson's cook. Their daughter, Queen, was Haley's grandmother and the subject of Haley's unfinished book Queenie. The depth and regularity of the depressions in the slave cemetery also indicate that it was highly probable that the slaves at least on this plantation were actually buried in coffins rather than simply interred in shrouds. This cemetery continued to be used by descendants of the Jackson slaves in the late-19th- and eariy-20th centuries.

The Forks of Cypress Cemetery is significant under criterion A for Social History as the placement of monuments and graves within both the family and slave sections illustrate social structures of an extended elite frontier planter family and its enslaved workforce. The cemetery also offers a temporal display of changing attitudes towards death and commemoration in the transition from conspicuous and showy markers to low-profile and plain markers over a period of 130 years. The monuments of James Jackson and his immediate and contemporary family serve as the focal points of the cemetery (both because of placement and because of scale). In spatial terms, the core of the cemetery, with many of the earlier monuments, form a line from east to west slightly south of the centerline of the rectangular plot created by the wall. The planter patriarch, James Jackson, and several of his siblings form this axis. James' brothers, John and Alexander, are buried near the center, with James' own grave near the front and his wife's grave to his south. The offspring of James Jackson's sister, Eleanora Jackson Kirkman (who herself is buried in New Orleans), are interred just to the north of his grave. Another of Jackson's sisters, Sarah Jackson Hanna, and many of her family members (including at least one daughter-in-law and one son-in-law) are buried to the west of the main axis formed by the older markers. Though within the family, there is not a great deal of differentiation as to burial place excepting the grouping of Sarah Jackson Manna's family to the west of James, most of his descendants and his other siblings, a distinction is made between the core of the extended family and more distant relations or social connections. The earlier burials along the back wall are burials of people with somewhat tenuous connections to the family. William O'Neal Perkins and Pocahontas Bowling Perkins, whose monuments are the most impressive on the western end of the cemetery, appear to be the parents of one of James Jackson's daughters-in- law. Alexander Larrimer, buried in the southwest corner, appears to have no familial connection whatsoever to the Jacksons. Two uninscribed slabs traditionally marking the burials of slave jockeys are on alignment with the old main axis of the cemetery but along the west wall. The social units in this extended planter family, therefore, come out in their burial locations-the planter patriarch, James Jackson, his offspring, and his siblings without or with few offspring are buried towards the front of the cemetery in an intermixed fashion. Jackson's sister Sarah Hanna had a large enough extended family of her own to warrant a contiguous section of burials in the southwest quarter of the cemetery. People with more tenuous connections with the family were buried along the rear (west) wall. In addition, the hierarchy of slave burials, mentioned above, reveals more aspects of the social organization of Jackson's plantation. Finally, the burials in the cemetery after the 1870s are consistently of James Jackson's direct descendants. Their attitudes towards commemoration varies drastically with that of their antebellum ancestors' conspicuous consumption via tall and elaborated monuments. Later monuments of the deceased are rather low to the ground and inscribed with little other than the descendants' names and vital dates. These burials are consistently in the northern half of the cemetery as well.

The Forks of Cypress Cemetery meets criterion exception D as it derives its primary importance both from distinctive design features and association with historic events.

These photographs represent a survey of young farmers in the Champlain Valley and Adirondack Region of New York State. With the population of new farmers in decline, these young people represent a reverse trend. Their entry points into farming come from disparate angles, but they share an ethic and farming ideology that is both lifestyle choice and profession. In recent years, consumers have become more interested in the provenance of their food for political, economic, health and environmental reasons. Locally grown and raised food products are finding a larger market and have made small farms a viable business and integral part of the food supply. Attracted to agriculture by a new consciousness in food production, the young people in this series are in the infancy of what they hope will be long careers in agriculture.

A hand from the clouds (the hand of God) chopping a tree with an axe is a motif on graves for young deceased.

Update: Per Google A.I. this is a "poignant symbol of divine power and an untimely death. In Suriname, this symbol is almost exclusively found on the graves of individuals who passed away younger than 50 yr.s of age. This specific iconography carries several layers of meaning within the Sephardic and Ashkenazi Jewish traditions of the region", including:

"Divine Intervention: The ... death was an act of God's will. [This hand is] the closest [thing to a] traditional representation [of] the Deity permitted in [iconoclastic] Jewish funerary art.

- Biblical Roots: The symbol draws from biblical metaphors in which humans are likened to trees. It evokes passages such as Matthew 3:10, "the axe is laid at the root of the trees," representing imminent judgment or the end of a life's path.

- Regional Prevalence: This is one of the most common [reliefs] in Surinam's Jewish cemeteries, appearing on nearly half of the 137 carved gravestones recorded in the country."

- I tried Google translate with the use of a Hebrew keyboard online. The (incorrect) result with the letters or otiot תנצבה is "Stand up". But per Google A.I., תנצבה is an acronym which translates to "May his/her soul be bound up in the bond of life", and which "is frequently found on Jewish tombstones worldwide."

"Risograph Reverie" is an enchanting series of risograph graphics by Duncan Rawlinson. This collection engages the viewer with its distinctive blend of form and color, representing a compelling dialogue between the abstract and the photorealistic, the expected and the surprising.

Rawlinson's approach is a testament to the transformative capacity of art, where photography meets artificial intelligence to create something entirely unique. Each piece begins its journey as a photograph, a frozen moment in time, which is then fed into an AI tool that reshapes it into a vibrant dance of neon-colored geometric forms. The light magenta and azure hues act as commanding players on this visual stage, setting the tone for the playful motifs and mismatched patterns to unfold within a uniquely compelling 6:17 aspect ratio.

What's even more mesmerizing about this series is its perfect symmetry, creating a harmonious continuity when placed side by side. Each graphic functions as a tile, seamlessly connecting with its neighbors to form a larger, interconnected canvas that amplifies the visual impact. The result is a dynamic, infinite spectacle where each piece, while powerful as a standalone, is part of a greater, mesmerizing whole.

In "Risograph Reverie," Rawlinson bridges the tactile world of risograph printmaking with the endless possibilities of the digital realm. The collection, tactile and tangible, vibrates with the unique energy of risograph art, while the individual graphics, designed under the algorithmic direction of an AI, add a modern and innovative twist.

Navigating through this series is an invitation to lose oneself in a world where neon-colored geometric forms come to life, where patterns blend flawlessly, and where every piece is an integral part of a captivating, cohesive narrative. This is Rawlinson's celebration of contemporary art - a space where color and form, reality and imagination, and technology and traditional printmaking coexist in a fun and harmonious dance of creativity.

1)SR. CARLOS EZEQUIEL CONTRERAS ROBERTS – VECINOD E MANUEL ARÉVALO II ETAPA.

“Hemos iniciado”

Hemos iniciado y seguimos avanzando.

Baháʼí World Centre is the name given to the spiritual and administrative centre of the Baháʼí Faith, representing sites in or near the cities of Acre and Haifa, Israel. Much of the international governance and coordination of the Baháʼí Faith occurs at the Baháʼí World Centre, including global teaching plans and study and translation of the Baháʼí holy writings. The Universal House of Justice, representing the supreme governing body of the Baháʼí Faith, resides in Haifa. The Baháʼí World Centre is also a major destination for religious tourism, and the current destination for Baháʼí pilgrimage, attracting annually about one million visitors. The location of the Baháʼí World Centre originated in Baháʼu'lláh's banishment and imprisonment to the fortress of Acre in 1868 by Ottoman authorities. Many of the locations at the Baháʼí World Centre, including the terraces and the Shrine of the Báb which constitute the north slope of Mount Carmel, were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2008. History - The location of the administrative centre was a result of a successive number of banishments and imprisonments of Baháʼu'lláh, founder of the Baháʼí Faith. Baháʼu'lláh was banished from Persia by Nasser al-Din Shah in 1853, at which time Baháʼu'lláh went to Baghdad in the Ottoman Empire. Later he was exiled by the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, at the behest of the Persian Shah, to territories further away from Iran and finally to Acre in Ottoman Syria in 1868. Baháʼu'lláh lived out the rest of his life in the area and he communicated with his followers throughout the Middle East, Central Asia and India through special couriers, and Acre became the centre of the expanding network of Baháʼí groups. When Baháʼu'lláh's imprisonment was eased, the area also became a centre of Baháʼí pilgrimage as Baháʼís would travel the long distance to see Baháʼu'lláh. The location of the Shrine of the Báb on Mount Carmel was indicated by Baháʼu'lláh to his son ʻAbdu'l-Bahá during a visit to Haifa. Furthermore, the establishing of the administrative centre of the Baháʼí Faith on Mount Carmel was also indicated by Baháʼu'lláh in his Tablet of Carmel, which is considered one of the charter documents of the Baháʼí administration. Baháʼu'lláh died in 1892 near Acre, and his resting place is in Bahji. Following his death, Baháʼu'lláh's son ʻAbdu'l-Bahá was appointed to be the head of his father's faith and the condition of the area as the centre of Baháʼí activity continued. He continued to correspond with Baháʼís all over the world, including now Baháʼís in the West. While he was still officially a prisoner and confined to Acre, ʻAbdu'l-Bahá also organized the transfer of the remains of the Báb from Iran to Palestine. He organized the purchase of land on Mount Carmel that Baháʼu'lláh had instructed should be used to lay the remains of the Báb and organized for the construction of the Shrine of the Báb. This process took another 10 years and was completed in 1909. In 1908, the Young Turks revolution freed all political prisoners in the Ottoman Empire, and ʻAbdu'l-Bahá was freed from imprisonment. Soon after the revolution, he moved to live in Haifa near the Shrine of the Báb, and since then the administrative headquarters of the religion have been in Haifa. During the final years of ʻAbdu'l-Bahá's life the increasing levels of correspondence led to the employment of a number of secretaries including some in Western languages and the provision of a Pilgrim House in the area. ʻAbdu'l-Bahá died in 1921, and was buried in a room of the Shrine of the Báb in Haifa. After ʻAbdu'l-Bahá's death, Shoghi Effendi was the head of the religion, and he directed the development of a number of separate projects in the area. He renovated the house of Baháʼu'lláh in Bahji in 1929, and in the 1950s secured legal possession of the lands around the building, creating a number of gardens. He also obtained possession of other sites around Acre related to Baháʼu'lláh's life, including the House of ʻAbbud. Around Haifa, he expanded the Shrine of the Báb by developing its golden-domed superstructure and purchased lands surrounding the Shrine in order to create gardens. Shoghi Effendi had also decided that the buildings housing the institutions of the religion indicated in Baháʼu'lláh's Tablet of Carmel, including the Universal House of Justice, the as yet unestablished governing body of the worldwide Baháʼí community, would be arranged in the shape of an arc surrounded by gardens. The fulcrum of this arc would be the Monument Gardens, which hold the graves of members of the Baháʼí holy family. During his own lifetime he started the construction of one of the buildings comprising the arc, the International Archives building. He also negotiated tax-exempt status for all Baha'i properties. The religion's situation in Israel was clarified in an agreement signed in 1987 by then Vice-Premier and Foreign Minister, Shimon Peres, in which the government formally acknowledged the Baháʼí Faith as a “recognized religious community in Israel,” declared its "friendly relations" with the Baháʼí world community, noted that the "holiest places of the Baháʼí Faith, … are located in Israel", and confirmed "that the Universal House of Justice is the Trustee of the Baháʼí International Community over the Holy Places of the Baháʼí Faith in Israel and over the Baháʼí endowments in Israel". The other buildings of the Arc, the Seat of the Universal House of Justice, the Centre for the Study of the Sacred Texts, and the Seat of the International Teaching Centre, were completed in 1982, 1999 and 2000 respectively. The fifth and yet-to-be-built building, the International Baháʼí library, is planned to be eventually built at the eastern end of the Arc, and is anticipated as a center for "knowledge in all fields", including scientific investigation. The Baháʼí Terraces, or the Hanging Gardens of Haifa, are garden terraces on Mount Carmel in Haifa, and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Israel. Completed in 2001, there are 19 terraces and more than 1,500 steps ascending the mountain. The central terrace has the Shrine of the Báb, one of the main religious figures of the Baháʼí Faith. The architect was Fariborz Sahba from Iran, and the structural engineers were Karban and Co. from Haifa. The terraces are part of a complex of Baháʼí holy places in Haifa, Acre, and western Galilee that were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2008. The gardens rest in the neighborhoods of Wadi Nisnas and Hadar HaCarmel. The terraces represent the first eighteen disciples of the Báb, who were designated "Letters of the Living", although no terraces are connected with particular individuals. Nine concentric circles provide the main geometry of the eighteen terraces. Just as the identification of a circle presupposes a centre, so the terraces have been conceived as generated from the Shrine of the Báb. The eighteen terraces plus the one terrace of the Shrine of the Báb make nineteen terraces total. Nineteen is a significant number within both the Baháʼí and Bábí religions. The gardens have elements of the Persian gardens of Shiraz, Iran, the Nishat Bagh gardens of Jammu and Kashmir, India and English gardens, isolating the site from the noise of the surroundings and connecting the different Baháʼí buildings on Mount Carmel together. Fariborz Sahba began work in 1987 designing the gardens and oversaw construction. The terraces were opened to the public in June 2001. Beginning at its base, the gardens extend almost one kilometre (0.6 miles) up the side of Mount Carmel, covering some 200,000 square metres (2,152,782 square feet) of land. The gardens are linked by a set of stairs flanked by twin streams of running water cascading down the mountainside through the steps and terrace bridges. The irrigation system includes a computer which, based on meteorologic data it receives, controls hundreds of valves to distribute water throughout the gardens by sprinkling and dripping. This is done at night and in the early morning, to avoid wasting water by evaporation. The water that flows alongside the stairs is circulating in a closed system within each terrace, so that little water is wasted. Haifa’s Mayor Amram Mitzna described the gardens as the eighth wonder of the world. "We have been very lucky," he said, "not many cities get a park that is so incredibly beautiful – free of charge."
