Under an immense canopy of pristine, cinematic blue, the desert stretches out in smooth, undulating waves of pale amber, carved by unseen winds into elegant, minimalist slopes.
Rising like a rugged monument from this sea of shifting grains is a chaotic cluster of weathered boulders. Their surfaces etched with the deep, fractured history of thermal stress and desert time display a rich palette of charcoal greys and oxidized rust reds.

The Royal Chapel was built during the 18th century and it is the parish church for the members of the Royal Parish. The church is situated in the east half of the southern row of the palace. It is as wide as the building and two and a half stories high. The entrance of the church is in the South Portal (or Arch). Service is held every Sunday and holy day, and the Royal Family use the church for ceremonies. Before the old Tre Kronor castle burned down, the Royal Chapel was in the northern row, some benches and silver decorations from the old church are still preserved in the chapel. After fire in 1697, when Tessin planned the new palace, the Royal Chapel and the Hall of State were placed in the southern row and these, including the grand stairs, occupies the first and second floor. Artista malagueño. Dadi Dreucol, leído de atrás hacia delante, es "locuerdidad", concepto que el artista refleja en sus obras. Estudió en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de Málaga aunque actualmente se ha trasladado a Valencia para acabar allí sus estudios artísticos.
Sus trabajos se caracterizan por la utilización de un personaje peculiar. Un hombre barbudo y semidesnudo que según el artista representa una persona que no se deja guiar por las normas establecidas en la ciudad.
Un personaje fetiche como representante de la esencia existencial del ser humano.

The red deer (Cervus elaphus) is one of the largest deer species. The red deer inhabits most of Europe, the Caucasus Mountains region, Asia Minor, Iran, parts of western Asia, and central Asia. It also inhabits the Atlas Mountains region between Morocco and Tunisia in northwestern Africa, being the only species of deer to inhabit Africa. Red deer have been introduced to other areas, including Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, Peru, Uruguay, Chile and Argentina. In many parts of the world, the meat (venison) from red deer is used as a food source.
The red deer is the fourth-largest deer species behind moose, elk and sambar deer. It is a ruminant, eating its food in two stages and having an even number of toes on each hoof, like camels, goats and cattle. European red deer have a relatively long tail compared to their Asian and North American relatives. Subtle differences in appearance are noted between the various subspecies of red deer, primarily in size and antlers, with the smallest being the Corsican red deer found on the islands of Corsica and Sardinia and the largest being the Caspian red deer (or maral) of Asia Minor and the Caucasus Region to the west of the Caspian Sea. The deer of central and western Europe vary greatly in size, with some of the largest deer found in the Carpathian Mountains in Central Europe.Western European red deer, historically, grew to large size given ample food supply (including people's crops), and descendants of introduced populations living in New Zealand and Argentina have grown quite large in both body and antler size. Large red deer stags, like the Caspian red deer or those of the Carpathian Mountains, may rival the wapiti in size. Female red deer are much smaller than their male counterparts.
The European red deer is found in southwestern Asia (Asia Minor and Caucasus regions), North Africa and Europe. The red deer is the largest non-domesticated land mammal still existing in Ireland. The Barbary stag (which resembles the western European red deer) is the only member of the deer family represented in Africa, with the population centred in the northwestern region of the continent in the Atlas Mountains. As of the mid-1990s, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria were the only African countries known to have red deer.
In the Netherlands, a large herd (ca. 3000 animals counted in late 2012) lives in the Oostvaarders Plassen, a nature reserve. Ireland has its own unique subspecies. In France the population is thriving, having multiplied fivefold in the last half-century, increasing from 30,000 in 1970 to approximately 160,000 in 2014. The deer has particularly expanded its footprint into forests at higher altitudes than before. In the UK, indigenous populations occur in Scotland, the Lake District, and the South West of England (principally on Exmoor). Not all of these are of entirely pure bloodlines, as some of these populations have been supplemented with deliberate releases of deer from parks, such as Warnham or Woburn Abbey, in an attempt to increase antler sizes and body weights. The University of Edinburgh found that, in Scotland, there has been extensive hybridisation with the closely related sika deer.
Several other populations have originated either with "carted" deer kept for stag hunts being left out at the end of the hunt, escapes from deer farms, or deliberate releases. Carted deer were kept by stag hunts with no wild red deer in the locality and were normally recaptured after the hunt and used again; although the hunts are called "stag hunts", the Norwich Staghounds only hunted hinds (female red deer), and in 1950, at least eight hinds (some of which may have been pregnant) were known to be at large near Kimberley and West Harling; they formed the basis of a new population based in Thetford Forest in Norfolk. Further substantial red deer herds originated from escapes or deliberate releases in the New Forest, the Peak District, Suffolk, Lancashire, Brecon Beacons, and North Yorkshire, as well as many other smaller populations scattered throughout England and Wales, and they are all generally increasing in numbers and range. A census of deer populations in 2007 and again in 2011 coordinated by the British Deer Society records the red deer as having continued to expand their range in England and Wales since 2000, with expansion most notable in the Midlands and East Anglia.

En el lugar donde está la estación de tren se instalada, en la década de 1860 un francés, proveniente de Aviñón de nombre Jean Pierre Alliaud, tenia un Almacén de Ramos Generales. Con el comercia con los indios y con las carretas de fletes de la flia. Santamarína. Casado con Maria Bertrand, mantiene dicho local hasta fines de siglo, cuando regresa a Europa. Siendo Alsina Ministro de Guerra y encomendada por él la construcción de la llamada "zanja de Alsina", y siendo que este poblador mantenía esta instalación en las cercanías de su paso, el gobierno le otorga en propiedad un número de leguas cuadradas cercana al centenar. Despite the very grey sky, this was a great show. The markings on the side of the plane ahead of the cockpit are flags of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, each flag marking a (free) display the aircraft gave in support of Health workers during the pandemic. On the other side are flags to represent the displays made over hospitals in England - over 250 such across the UK. The light patches behind the cockpit are the hand painted names sponsored by donors to raise money for the charity NHS Together. Interesting that the flags can be resolved by this camera but the names cannot!
This Spitfire is one of the unarmed photo-reconnaissance versions which has long range fuel tanks and cameras in place of weapons.

Cette statue contemporaine en bronze représente un personnage populaire qu’on pouvait croiser naguère dans les rues de Verviers. Il s’agissait d’une sorte de représentant de commerce qui allait proposer sa marchandise chez les lainiers. Il transportait et présentait ses échantillons de laines (venus d’Argentine, du Chili, d’Australie et d’Afrique du Sud) contenus dans des cylindres de papier bleu. Vers 1950, ces marchands étaient encore près de 200 à Verviers. Il y avait tellement de filatures à visiter qu’il fallait une semaine pour en faire le tour. Le sens premier de l’expression « ploquettes » se rapporte aux déchets provenant des loups-cardes c’est-à-dire des premières machines à épurer les laines brutes fort chargées de matières végétales et autres impuretés qui devaient être carboniséesavant leur réintroduction dans la fabrication. Les fameux cylindres de papier bleu pouvaient contenir des ploquettes mais très souvent il s’agissait d’échantillons de laine pure. Cette statue de Louis-Pierre Wagelmans symbolise donc l’éclat de l’industrie florissante de la laine à Verviers.
This contemporary bronze statue represents a popular character that could once be seen in the streets of Verviers. He was a sort of sales representative who was going to sell his wares to the woolen companies. He carried and displayed his wool samples (from Argentina, Chile, Australia and South Africa) contained in cylinders of blue paper. Around 1950, there were still nearly 200 of these merchants in Verviers. There were so many spinning mills to visit that it took a week to tour them. The primary meaning of the expression "ploquettes" relates to the waste coming from the wolves, that is to say from the first machines to purify the raw wools heavily loaded with vegetable matter and other impurities which had to be carbonized before their reintroduction in the manufacturing. The famous blue paper cylinders might contain small flakes, but very often they were samples of pure wool. This statue of Louis-Pierre Wagelmans therefore symbolizes the brilliance of the flourishing wool industry in Verviers.

Hoy hace un año de mi comienzo en flickr, comienzos casi siempre duros, sino conoces gente que esté introducida en este pequeño mundo. Yo creo que flickr es un cajón en el que hay miles de buenas fotos y personas, que están por descubrir. Mención especial quiero hacer a mi cuñado Jesús, quien me introdujo en este mundo de flickr y me ayudo en mis comienzos.
Quiero agradecer a todos los que vitáis mi galería con asiduidad, a los que la han visitado en alguna ocasión, a los que os gusta comentar, etc... Porque gracias a todos tengo las fuerzas y la motivación para seguir adelante.
Esta fotografía que os quiero mostrar, posiblemente representa una de las variantes fotográficas que más me gusta. En exteriores, donde en gran medida intervienen las condiciones climatológicas y tienes que conjuntarte con ellos para conseguir algo irrepetible. Llevo un tiempo pensando en la fotografía que quería subir este día, y después de varias candidatas esta ha sido la elegida, el resto de ellas están o estarán pronto en mi galería.
En este tiempo, he tenido encuentros y desencuentros, pero sobre todo buenos momentos. He conocido a un grupo de personas con las que he tenido una mayor afinidad y ha crecido una bonita amistad, de la ahora estoy muy orgulloso. Entre ellos están Gema, Eber, Pilar, Teresa, Toñy, Anna, Nathalie, Javi, Raúl, Juanma, Jesús, Rafael, Jesús CM. Con algunos he compartido técnicas, opiniones o simplemente momentos inolvidables e incluso en algún caso conocernos en persona.
Espero seguir compartiendo con todos mi forma de ver las cosas bajo el prisma de mi cámara. Yo como apasionado de la fotografía, disfruto viendo vuestras fotografías, e incluso en muchos casos aprendo de vosotros.

Today makes it a year since I opened my Flickr account. It is always difficult to begin in a place like this when you don't know anyone who has been around here for a while. I believe Flickr is like a big drawer where there are thousands of good photographs and people to be discovered. I'd like to thank my brother-in-law Jesús, who introduced me to Flickr and helped me in my beginnings.
I would also like to thank all the people who visit my photostream regularly, those who visit it occasionally, those who like leaving comments, etc.... because thanks to all these people I have the strength and the motivation to keep going.
This picture that I want to share with you, possibly represents one of the photographic variations I like the most. It's taken in the open, where the weather conditions play an important part and you have to adjust to them to capture something special. I have been thinking for a while which picture I would like to publish today and this has been my choice; the rest of the pictures that were in my final selection will also be published soon.
In this past year I have had good times and also misunderstandings. I got to know a group of people with whom I've shared more and become friends, of which I am very proud; among these: Gema, Eber, Pilar, Teresa, Toñy, Anna, Nathalie, Javi, Raúl, Juanma, Jesús, Rafael, Jesús CM. With some of them I've shared techniques, opinions or simply special moments and I have even met a few in person.
I hope to be able to go on sharing the world as I see it through my camera lense. Being myself passionate about photography, I enjoy looking at your pictures and in many cases, learning from you.
A wonderful survivor, representing the condition of so many MK2 Escorts and other 70s cars on their last legs in the late 80s and early 90s. For me, spotting a rough example like this is far more appealing than seeing a restored or modified one. The car has done very little mileage in recent years, which has no doubt helped preserve it.

Disney represented Team USA tonight and put on such an amazing show! We were at Spanish Banks....the estimated crowns of 500,000 spilled onto the cities southern most beaches....for the first time, traffic was a nightmare getting home.

Ma Shi Chau (馬屎洲 literally "Horse Dung Island") is an island of Hong Kong, under the administration of Tai Po District. It is located in Tolo Harbour in the northeast New Territories (near Sam Mun Tsai). It is connected with another island, Yim Tin Tsai, by a tombolo traversable at low tide.
It was previously known as No Kot Chai and No Kot Choi (螺角洲).

Au moment même où l'attaque terroriste de Nice avait lieu, je me trouvais à des centaines de kilomètres, insouciante et heureuse, mettant en mémoire un magnifique coucher de soleil dans la Baie du Mont Saint Michel. Peu après éclatèrent les fusées lancées dans de nombreux villages français en honneur de la fête nationale. Cette photo représente ce que j'ai vu en cette soirée tragique du 14 juillet 2016 et je suis convaincue que toutes les victimes de Nice auront elles aussi de très belles dernières images.

Although painted to represent a USAAC OA-10 Catalina based in Halesworth, Suffolk in WW2, this is actually an ex Canadian example which served the RCAF as '11005'.
The original 433915 aircraft operated out of Halesworth airfield in the role of air sea rescue during 1945 and on 30th March that year after landing to provide help to of all things another stricken flying boat the aircraft lost use of one engine. With high seas that meant she was stuck just a few miles off the Dutch coast. Whilst bobbing around on the surf on the first night a pair of ME210's strafed the Catalina to such an extent that she was listing and no longer airworthy. Four days later after enduring constant seasickness and regular immersion in freezing sea water the crew were rescued by a launch sent out from Great Yarmouth. A second launch then destroyed and sank the Catalina rather than have her fall into enemy hands.
For the above reasons the preservation society chose to adopt the identity of the sunken sister aircraft. The preserved aircraft is now based at Duxford with Catalina Aircraft Ltd.

Our first cake for 2010. We made this to celebrate our parent's 45th wedding anniversary. Each bear represents a member of the family with a few absent members represented in the details.
Top and bottom teirs are dummie cakes and middle teir is moist boiled fruit cake, that has been lovingly doused in Brandy every two weeks over the last 8 or so weeks.

My friends decided to rest for a while after walking in Old Havana for more than half the day. So, I started to look for some internet cafe to answer some emails. I've been to 2 places and got no luck. Suddenly a local lady point out a Hotel that have it.
I thought it's gonna be a place with tens of computer units but in disbelief I found just a unit in the cafe with one lady who's already using it. I try to wait for about more than 15 minutes and I know I can patiently wait even for another 15 because of the refreshment that I'm having at that moment. Apparently, I realized that I'm with a group of friends that are waiting for me to join them. Not knowing if this lady speaks English, I approached her and ask if she can let me use the unit for a quick 5 minutes. Without any hesitation she said yes with a smile and that's started all the nice quick conversation.
Yup, Tina is her Name and I found out that she's doing some essay before I approached her and she's from Norway. She's currently traveling around the world and already had finished visiting Asia and started Latin America, last was Panama and now Cuba for almost a week then next leg is Peru. She also said that she's still got some couple of months to finish all her destinations. Then she'll get back to work and studies after accomplishing her feat.
Oh what a jet setter she is. Makes me feel happy to meet someone who's doing something that I really dream of doing. (TRAVELLING all around the world without thinking of work) But, also more than happy that she likes the idea of an impromptu photo shoot.
Don't worry Tina you still looks good even without make up. Enjoy experiencing the world and have a safe trip!!
RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York City. The sinking of Titanic caused the deaths of 1,514 people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history. She was the largest ship afloat at the time of her maiden voyage. One of three Olympic class ocean liners operated by the White Star Line, she was built between 1909–11 by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. She carried 2,224 people.
Her passengers included some of the wealthiest people in the world, as well as over a thousand emigrants from Britain, Ireland, Scandinavia and elsewhere seeking a new life in North America. The ship was designed to be the last word in comfort and luxury, with an on-board gymnasium, swimming pool, libraries, high-class restaurants and opulent cabins. She also had a powerful wireless telegraph provided for the convenience of passengers as well as for operational use. Though she had advanced safety features such as watertight compartments and remotely activated watertight doors, she lacked enough lifeboats to accommodate all of those aboard. Due to outdated maritime safety regulations, she carried only enough lifeboats for 1,178 people – a third of her total passenger and crew capacity.
After leaving Southampton on 10 April 1912, Titanic called at Cherbourg in France and Queenstown (now Cobh) in Ireland before heading westwards towards New York. On 14 April 1912, four days into the crossing and about 375 miles south of Newfoundland, she hit an iceberg at 11:40 pm (ship's time; UTC-3). The glancing collision caused Titanic's hull plates to buckle inwards in a number of locations on her starboard side and opened five of her sixteen watertight compartments to the sea. Over the next two and a half hours, the ship gradually filled with water and sank. Passengers and some crew members were evacuated in lifeboats, many of which were launched only partly filled. A disproportionate number of men – over 90% of those in Second Class – were left aboard due to a "women and children first" protocol followed by the officers loading the lifeboats. Just before 2:20 am Titanic broke up and sank bow-first with over a thousand people still on board. Those in the water died within minutes from hypothermia caused by immersion in the freezing ocean. The 710 survivors were taken aboard from the lifeboats by the RMS Carpathia a few hours later.
The disaster was greeted with worldwide shock and outrage at the huge loss of life and the regulatory and operational failures that had led to it. Public inquiries in Britain and the United States led to major improvements in maritime safety. One of their most important legacies was the establishment in 1914 of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), which still governs maritime safety today. Many of the survivors lost all of their money and possessions and were left destitute; many families, particularly those of crew members from Southampton, lost their primary bread-winners. They were helped by an outpouring of public sympathy and charitable donations. Some of the male survivors, notably the White Star Line's chairman, J. Bruce Ismay, were accused of cowardice for leaving the ship while people were still on board, and they faced social ostracism.
The wreck of the Titanic remains on the seabed, gradually disintegrating at a depth of 12,415 feet (3,784 m). Since its rediscovery in 1985, thousands of artefacts have been recovered from the sea bed and put on display at museums around the world. Titanic has become one of the most famous ships in history, her memory kept alive by numerous books, films, exhibits and memorials.
Belfast has opened the Iconic Titanic Signature Building which will house Titanic Belfast ® it is iconic in design and houses a world class visitor attraction. It is located at Titanic Quarter (East Belfast). The exhibition is based on the theme of the Titanic and the wider subject of Belfast’s shipbuilding and maritime heritage. Of such scale, the building is likely to become Northern Ireland’s largest and most successful built attraction.
A symbolic statue made by world-renowned Irish sculptor Rowan Gillespie has been unveiled at Titanic Belfast.
‘Titanica’, a female figure designed to represent hope and positivity.
Gillespie has had work commissioned across the world, from Moscow to LA, but Titanica is his first work in Northern Ireland.
Titanica has been placed on the plaza in front of the iconic Titanic Belfast building, the world’s largest Titanic visitor attraction which will formally open on Saturday.
The bronze sculpture with a high-bolted brass base is a life-size female figure, similar to female figureheads which historically rested on the bows of ships as a symbol of good fortune.
Gillespie said: “I visited Titanic Quarter early last year and was so inspired by the stunning architecture and the energy of the development and the construction working there that I was moved to make something special for the area.
“I spent the next 12 months working on the sculpture and it is a real honour to have my work displayed in front of Titanic Belfast, one of the most impressive architectural designs in Europe. I hope Titanica provides as much joy for those who see her as I had in making her.”
I found the screen in the top left quite distracting, but then again, it's what was there. Also, cropping it out at 2x1 just made the image feel too claustrophobic. Also, I really liked the way the swirly bokeh interacted with the roof of the station.

Las esculturas zoomorfas representando totos y cerdos fueron en origen una manifestación simbólica del pueblo pre-romano de los vettones, habitantes de las actuales provincias de Ávila, Salamanca, Cáceres y parte de la de Toledo al menos desde el siglo V a.c. hasta la conquista romana, hacia el 136-133 a.c.
Los Toros de Guisando no se hallaban ligados a un castro pre-romano, como en otros casos conocidos, sino a una antigua ruta de comunicación ya existente en tiempo romano. En esta época se realiza la inscripción latina del primer toro, que dice "LONGINUS PRISCO - CALAET Q PATRI F C" ("Longino se encargó de hacer (este monumento) para su padre Prisco, de los Calaéticos"). Ello indica que pudieron ser reaprovechados en el siglo I-II a partir de las tallas anteriores o incluso esculpidas expresamente para constituir un monumento romano de carácter funerario y/o conmemorativo.
La vistosidad de los toros debió hacer que en tiempo medieval fueran incorporados a la venta Juradera como algo pintoresco, formando parte de ella.

La chapelle de Kermaria est, avec l'église de Kernascléden (Morbihan), le seul sanctuaire de Bretagne à posséder une fresque représentant ce thème de l'art macabre du Moyen Âge. Cette fresque comportant 47 figures d'environ 1,3 m de haut, avait été recouverte de badigeon au XVIIIe siècle, et remise au jour en 1856 par Charles de Taillart. La réalisation de cette fresque est située entre 1488 et 1501, soit environ un demi-siècle après celle du cloître des Innocents à Paris.

Circulación del famoso TRANVIA de LISBOA a través de las calles del casco Viejo con raíles y adoquines y mucha gente transitando por las aceras, paisaje urbano que converge en el callejón del fondo con las casas y los colores representativos de la ciudad de Portugal. Los Tranvías de color amarillo son un monumento en movimiento que permite desplazarse de una parte a la otra, ofreciendo una nota de color entre los grises del callejero lisboeta. Pintura del artista pintor Ernest Descals sobre papel de 50 x 70 centímetros en el pintar los elementos imprescindibles y famosos de las ciudades.
