I chose this simple image because Water and life are represented in it. The water so precious on earth, essential to life, and this group of flamingos still called "flamboyance" The shot was taken in the Camargue (France ), lying on the ground. It is the only place in Europe where these animals breed.
They populate the marshes and ponds by feeding on small molluscs, crustaceans, insects, larvae, algae contained in the mud. A shrimp artemia salina, give them their pink color.
Due to global warming, the sea level is rising. Storms will become more numerous? The Camargue will one day be threatened?
With imagination, if pink flamingos could speak, they might seem to be saying this to us: "Let's all act together against global warming to help limit the harmful impacts on biodiversity and preserve the wonders of the Earth!"

L'eau si précieuse sur terre , essentielle à la vie ,et ce groupe de flamants roses encore appelé "flamboyance " La prise de vue a été effectuée en Camargue(en France ) ,allongée sur le sol.C'est le seul endroit en Europe où ces animaux se reproduisent.

Du fait du réchauffement climatique ,le niveau de la mer augmente ..les tempêtes vont devenir plus nombreuses ?la Camargue un jour menacée ?
Avec de l'imagination ,si les flamants roses avaient la parole ils sembleraient peut être nous dire ceci :" agissons tous ensemble contre le réchauffement climatique pour permettre de limiter les impacts néfastes sur la biodiversité et préserver les merveilles de la Terre !"

La foto representa la portada principal vista desde dentro de la ciudad palatina o La Ciudad Brillante de Medina Azahara. En sueños vi venir por ese camino idealizado las personas o personajes del segundo milenio que eran recibidos con grandes fiestas y boato por el Califa. Como la belleza es efímera solo duró este esplendor una docena de años . La envidia la arruino y ha estado olvidada. Los cordobeses queremos que la Unesco vea en estas ruinas lo que pensamos y lo que significa aunque sea por poco tiempo la ciudad mas importante del mundo.
Representa a Latona, madre de Apolo y Diana siendo increpada por los hombres que como castigo se van convirtiendo en ranas.
Historia:Este conjunto de mármol esculpido por los hermanos Marsy en 1670 es una las obras más famosas de Versalles y representa a Latona y sus hijos, dando nombre al estanque sobre el que se erige. Inspirado en Las metamorfosis de Ovidio, el estanque de Latona ilustra la metamorfosis de los campesinos de Licia en anfibios tras haber impedido a la diosa y a sus hijos Diana y Apolo beber en un estanque. El estanque y el parterre que lo rodean –diseñado por André Le Nôtre– fueron íntegramente restaurados en el año 2015.

* El Castillo de Medellín comenzó siendo un campamento romano en 74 d.C. En el siglo XIII se convirtió en una fortaleza medieval. Después de la reconquista del castillo en el año 1234 por Fernando III el Santo, perteneció a varios dueños durante el siglo XIV. El castillo lo reconstruyó el rey Enrique II, en el año 1357, si bien no alcanzó su forma definitiva hasta la segunda mitad del siglo XV. Entre los años 1475 y 1479, tomó parte a favor de Juana la Beltraneja al igual que la mayoría de la nobleza extremeña.
Se encuentra emplazado sobre una colina junto al río Guadiana. Fue declarado monumento histórico artístico y bien de interés cultural en 1931.

As typical on anticyclonic winter days, the valleys and plains of neighboring Carinthia alpine region are covered by dense low clouds (Stratus) accumulated by a weak north-east current.
Due to the light flow these stratus clouds enter the valleys arranged from N/E towards S/W and press on the mountain passes; these masses are cold and humid, therefore "heavy", as if representing a vast mass of water, they cannot climb steep mountain slopes, while they seek an easy transfer through the lower areas of a mountain range or at the junction between 2 different ranges.
For this reason the Alpine passes and saddles, where the air masses from different areas cross and converge, are decidedly interesting from a meteorological and microlimatic point of view.
Among other things, the cloudy/foggy mass has waves, always referring to the water which well represents the movements of dense and heavy air, which at times cover the area, leaving the ice crystals that make up these clouds on all surfaces, for then withdraw and let the phenomenon be appreciated.
Because it represents ‘23 - 2 dimes and 3 pennies, little buddy!….

According to the current theme, group members were supposed to represent an adage in a photo. I chose "You've got to crack a few eggs to make an omelette", which means that if you want to achieve something, you often have to destroy something or make difficult sacrifices. I used an egg cup, a chocolate egg filled with colourful sweets and a teaspoon for the photo.
De acuerdo con el tema propuesto, los miembros del grupo teníamos que representar un dicho en una foto. Escogí aquel que dice que “no se puede hacer tortilla sin romper los huevos”, el cual significa que se tienen que destruir algo o hacer sacrificios difíciles para lograr algo. Para la foto, utilicé una huevera, un huevo de chocolate relleno con dulces coloridos y una cucharilla.
This image represents an unexpected sight. Exploring areas near Kanab, Utah, we were on our way to Old Paria, which was billed as a ghost town with a wooden structure which would make for a wonderful foreground against the striated hills behind. We read that the structure was actually built as a movie prop and was used in westerns, including The Outlaw Josey Wales. Supposedly, it was damaged and moved to higher ground nearby to protect it from floods. We found, or rather didn't find the structure, which we're pretty sure no longer exists. At least we couldn't find it, and it wasn't for lack of trying. We were rewarded, however, with this view along the way. Luckily, the area had been dusted with snow that morning, adding a delightful frosting to the hills and gullies and the remnants of the snowstorm in the sky.
... but we do not represent hope for them!

The Byodo-In Temple, located at the foot of the Ko’olau Mountains in Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, welcomes people of all faiths to worship, meditate or simply appreciate its beauty and history as a non-practicing Buddhist temple. Built in 1963, the Byodo-In Temple is a Hawaii state landmark.
O’ahu’s Byodo-In Temple represents a smaller scale replica of the almost 1,000-year old Byodo-In Temple in Uji, Japan, which is a United Nations World Heritage Site.

Painted ceramic benches representing all the provinces in Spain are arranged round the square.
It was built because of the Ibero-american Exhibition of 1929, held in Seville. Its creator was Aníbal González. He mixed a style inspired by the Renaissance with typical elements from the city: exposed brick, ceramics and wrought iron (worked by Domingo Prida). Its floor plan is semicircular. It is dominated by 2 towers, one on each side of the enclosed area, which frame the central building where the main rooms are. Between the two towers runs a network of galleries with an arcade of semicircular arches leading to exits in different parts of the square, where a fountain stands.
Es la iglesia parroquial de Viso del Marqués, de estilo transición gótico-renacentista, fue levantada en el siglo XV. Edificio de una nave, descentrada respecto al presbiterio, por estar construida sobre los restos de otra más antigua. En sus paredes cuelga "El lagarto de Viso", un cocodrilo disecado de unos 5 metros de longitud procedente del río Nilo, que fue traído a la localidad por el marqués de Santa Cruz, Álvaro de Bazán, en una de sus expediciones. Albergaba una tabla de la escuela flamenca que representa el Calvario, que actualmente se encuentra en un nicho de la iglesia parroquial después de haber sido restaurada.

The sun couldn't have been standing higher above the scenery than now, but train RB 5927 although looked pretty when it arrived from Poland to Tantow, the first german station stop.
DE: Ein Foto, das für mich wie kaum ein anderes den Sommer repräsentiert. Beim Warten auf den Zug konnte man im Gras liegen. Der Blick fiel in eine endlose blaue Weite. Dazu der unendliche Gesang der Feldlerche, die hoch über den Feldern stand. Ok, die Sonne hätte an diesem Sommermittag auch kaum höher stehen können, aber RB 5927 machte sich zwischen den goldenen Kornfeldern trotzdem gut, wie er sich von Polen her dem ersten deutschen Bahnhof Tantow nähert.
Fue inaugurado en los años 15-16 a. C. y abandonado en el siglo IV d.C. tras declararse oficial la religión cristiana que consideraba inmorales las representaciones teatrales. Fue demolido y cubierto de tierra, la única parte visible eran las gradas superiores.
Su capacidad era de 6000 personas.

El frente de escena es el elemento más llamativo. Está formado por dos cuerpos de columnas corintias que alcanzan los 30 metros de altura.
Las excavaciones arqueológicas comenzaron en 1910 y su reconstrucción parcial tuvo lugar en 1962.
Desde 1933 alberga el el prestigioso Festival Internacional de Teatro Clásico de Mérida.
Es patrimonio de la humanidad desde 1993.
The collection represents the private art collection of Carl Jacobsen (1842–1914), the son of the founder of the Carlsberg Breweries.
The Glyptotek is primarily a sculpture museum, as indicated by the name, the focal point of the museum is antique sculptures from the ancient cultures around the Mediterranean, including Egypt, Rome and Greece, as well as more modern sculptures such as a collection of Auguste Rodin's works, considered to be the most important outside.
However, the museum is equally noted for its collection of paintings that includes an extensive collection of French impressionists and Post-impressionists as well as Danish Golden Age paintings.

… the California Poppy, such a beautiful and irresistible sight in person! The textured background here includes a mesh fence surrounding the flowers at the Shipley Nature Center in Huntington Beach.

Nata il 14 dicembre 2004, la Riserva Naturale Regionale Sentina è la più piccola area protetta marchigiana, ma con una grande valenza ambientale.
Un paesaggio di acqua e sabbia che si sviluppa per circa 180 ettari all'interno del Comune di San Benedetto del Tronto, tra l'abitato di Porto d'Ascoli a Nord e il fiume Tronto a Sud.
La Sentina è costituita da ambienti unici come cordoni sabbiosi, zone umide retrodunali, e praterie salmastre che ospitano una ricca e peculiare flora ormai scomparsa in quasi tutto il litorale adriatico devastato dall'antropizzazione.
Notevole è l'importanza dell'area per l'avifauna migratoria, che trova nella Riserva l'unica possibilità di sosta costiera tra le aree umide del delta del Po e del Gargano.

The Sentina Natural Regional Reserve was established in 2004 by a regional law and is the smallest Park in the Marche region.
For the natural organization of the places, Sentina is considered a homogeneous system of land, river, and lake areas, a landscape of waters and sand covering an area of 177.55 ha, entirely in the territory of the Municipality of San Benedetto del Tronto, between the town of Porto d'Ascoli in the north and the river Tronto in the south, between the coastline in the east and the railway line in the west.
Sentina Regional Nature Reserve represents for San Benedetto del Tronto an invaluable treasure for its natural environments, life quality, and a differentiated tourist offer completing the already existing proposals offered by the seaside tourism.
Elle fut consacrée en 1791 et en 1822 le Français Prosper Catelin, avec Pierre Benoît, réalisa l'actuel portique néoclassique, inspiré du Palais Bourbon de Paris. L'ornementation du Frontispice, qui fut réalisé entre 1860 et 1863 par Dubourdieu, présente douze colonnes qui symbolisent les douze apôtres et un bas-relief qui représente la rencontre de Jacob avec son fils Joseph en Égypte.

This picture represents and interesting event in this chick’s life history. Up to this point, at least during the time I was lucky enough to be watching, the most Junior would do was peck at his food. He relied upon Mom to tear up the prey and feed it to him. They demonstrated a very close bond, lots of Mom preening her pride and joy and sometimes Junior preening Mom. This shot was taken close to sunset. Mom took the foot shown in her beak, a body part Junior in the past seemed to relish, and flew to a nearby branch. From there she made a call I hadn’t heard before. It was explained to me by Karen, a woman also watching, that Mom was attempting to entice Junior to make the short flight from the nest branch to where she was perched with the tasty tidbit. I hadn’t seen the chick attempt to fly but his feathers had grown in a lot and it would not have surprised me to see a short flight. Unfortunately, I can’t get back to the nest until after Junior will have fled the coup but hope he or she has a bright future and will not move too far from the neighborhood. (Bubo virginianus). Las Alondras y todos los representantes de su familia los alaudidos, son cada día mas escasos,
Habitantes de espacios abiertos, sufren como otras tantas especies de aves, la explotación intensiva de muchos pastizales.
Campos de cultivo de cereales de crecimiento rápido que se siegan antes de que las aves puedan haber terminado su ciclo reproductor y rociados de herbicidas y pesticidas que envenenan a sus presas, la verdad es que no lo tienen fácil para sobrevivir.
Sin embargo, bastan que en esos cultivos intensivos, se dejen pequeñas parcelas de terrenos sin sembrar, donde crezcan las mal llamadas malas hierbas y no se echen tantos pesticidas y herbicidas a los cultivos, que al final también nosotros los terminamos ingiriendo y acumulando en nuestros tejidos, para que las alondras y demás aves habitantes de estos espacios, pudiesen criar y alimentarse.
¿Estaremos dispuestos a ello?.
En algunos lugares se hace con resultados muy buenos en lo referente a los aguiluchos cenizos y pálidos,
Ojala esa sensibilidad cada vez este mas presente, pero tengo muchas dudas de ello.

Ces cabanes se dressent fièrement sur la crête des dunes de Gouville, bien alignées et aux toits multicolores. Elles représentent un lieu idéal pour les photographes et peintres locaux et sont aussi l'emblème de la station balnéaire de Gouville-su-Mer. Implantées par les premiers touristes il y a près d'un siècle, ces cabines étaient un petit lieu où les touristes qui logeaient à l'hôtel pouvaient se changer et manger un morceau. Les touristes y entreposaient des jeux de plage, des vêtements, des instruments de pêche et servaient d'abri en cas de mauvais temps. Durant la seconde guerre mondiale, bon nombre de cabines disparurent détruites par l'armée d'occupation. Dès la liberté retrouvée, les cabines refleurirent petit à petit sur la dune. Dans les années 80, plus de cent cabines étaient implantées dans la dune mais la loi littoral vint mettre fin à leur implantation.

These cabins stand proudly on the crest of the Gouville dunes, well aligned and with multicolored roofs. They represent an ideal place for local photographers and painters and are also the emblem of the seaside resort of Gouville-su-Mer. Set up by the first tourists almost a century ago, these cabins were a small place where tourists staying at the hotel could change clothes and grab a bite to eat. Tourists stored beach games, clothing, fishing instruments there and served as shelter in case of bad weather. During the Second World War, many cabins were destroyed by the occupying army. As soon as freedom was regained, the cabins began to flourish again little by little on the dune. In the 1980s, more than a hundred cabins were located in the dune but the coastal law put an end to their establishment.

This represents the reason I return to the arboretum-places of wide open skies, so relaxing, and places dense with foliage...make a picnic under shade trees, or out where you can lean back, listening to all the bird songs, or sometimes honks that sound like a foghorn...So it isn't that clear, but I like it anyway!

This image represents one of the first photographs taken after nearly two months of not even picking up my camera. This is also my first upload here on flickr in over two months. It's been even longer since I've had the time to comment on everyone's photostreams. Now that life is settling down into a more manageable pace, I hope to begin catching up with all of you.
I titled this image Old Faithful because no matter the season, this creek always has good flow. On the day I shot this I had checked on a few other creeks and found them very dry and finally decided to go here - I knew there would be water and I knew the late afternoon light would be sweet.

The red deer (Cervus elaphus) is one of the largest deer species. The red deer inhabits most of Europe, the Caucasus Mountains region, Asia Minor, Iran, parts of western Asia, and central Asia. It also inhabits the Atlas Mountains region between Morocco and Tunisia in northwestern Africa, being the only species of deer to inhabit Africa. Red deer have been introduced to other areas, including Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, Peru, Uruguay, Chile and Argentina. In many parts of the world, the meat (venison) from red deer is used as a food source.
The red deer is the fourth-largest deer species behind moose, elk and sambar deer. It is a ruminant, eating its food in two stages and having an even number of toes on each hoof, like camels, goats and cattle. European red deer have a relatively long tail compared to their Asian and North American relatives. Subtle differences in appearance are noted between the various subspecies of red deer, primarily in size and antlers, with the smallest being the Corsican red deer found on the islands of Corsica and Sardinia and the largest being the Caspian red deer (or maral) of Asia Minor and the Caucasus Region to the west of the Caspian Sea. The deer of central and western Europe vary greatly in size, with some of the largest deer found in the Carpathian Mountains in Central Europe.Western European red deer, historically, grew to large size given ample food supply (including people's crops), and descendants of introduced populations living in New Zealand and Argentina have grown quite large in both body and antler size. Large red deer stags, like the Caspian red deer or those of the Carpathian Mountains, may rival the wapiti in size. Female red deer are much smaller than their male counterparts.
The European red deer is found in southwestern Asia (Asia Minor and Caucasus regions), North Africa and Europe. The red deer is the largest non-domesticated land mammal still existing in Ireland. The Barbary stag (which resembles the western European red deer) is the only member of the deer family represented in Africa, with the population centred in the northwestern region of the continent in the Atlas Mountains. As of the mid-1990s, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria were the only African countries known to have red deer.
In the Netherlands, a large herd (ca. 3000 animals counted in late 2012) lives in the Oostvaarders Plassen, a nature reserve. Ireland has its own unique subspecies. In France the population is thriving, having multiplied fivefold in the last half-century, increasing from 30,000 in 1970 to approximately 160,000 in 2014. The deer has particularly expanded its footprint into forests at higher altitudes than before. In the UK, indigenous populations occur in Scotland, the Lake District, and the South West of England (principally on Exmoor). Not all of these are of entirely pure bloodlines, as some of these populations have been supplemented with deliberate releases of deer from parks, such as Warnham or Woburn Abbey, in an attempt to increase antler sizes and body weights. The University of Edinburgh found that, in Scotland, there has been extensive hybridisation with the closely related sika deer.
Several other populations have originated either with "carted" deer kept for stag hunts being left out at the end of the hunt, escapes from deer farms, or deliberate releases. Carted deer were kept by stag hunts with no wild red deer in the locality and were normally recaptured after the hunt and used again; although the hunts are called "stag hunts", the Norwich Staghounds only hunted hinds (female red deer), and in 1950, at least eight hinds (some of which may have been pregnant) were known to be at large near Kimberley and West Harling; they formed the basis of a new population based in Thetford Forest in Norfolk. Further substantial red deer herds originated from escapes or deliberate releases in the New Forest, the Peak District, Suffolk, Lancashire, Brecon Beacons, and North Yorkshire, as well as many other smaller populations scattered throughout England and Wales, and they are all generally increasing in numbers and range. A census of deer populations in 2007 and again in 2011 coordinated by the British Deer Society records the red deer as having continued to expand their range in England and Wales since 2000, with expansion most notable in the Midlands and East Anglia.
General Motors products are well represented this day at Wisconsin & Southern's Horicon terminal. Bob Lilly (leaning out of the cab window) and I have just finished up putting together the night train with one of three F45's WSOR acquired earlier in the year. The GMC truck is roundhouse foreman, chief mechanical officer, rules examiner etc, Jim Roberson's company vehicle. I believe that Bob and I had the classiest of the GM products this day though.

La fontaine des Tritons ( en maltais : Il-Funtana tat-Tritoni ) est une fontaine située à Floriana, à Malte . Elle se compose de trois Tritons en bronze soutenant un grand bassin, en équilibre sur une base concentrique construite en béton et revêtue de 730 tonnes de dalles de travertin . La fontaine est l'un des monuments modernistes les plus importants de Malte.
La Fontaine des Tritons est une œuvre emblématique située à l'entrée de la ville fortifiée de La Valette, à Malte. Inaugurée en 1959, cette statue monumentale est l'œuvre de l'artiste local Vincent Apap, assisté par le designer Victor Anastasi. Elle tire son nom des trois tritons en bronze qui soutiennent avec force et grâce une grande vasque, symbolisant ainsi l'union de la terre et de la mer, éléments essentiels de l'identité maltaise.
La fontaine constitue un point de rencontre central pour les habitants et les visiteurs, marquant l'entrée principale de la capitale et offrant un spectacle aquatique captivant. Les Tritons, créatures mythologiques mi-hommes mi-poissons, sont représentés dans une posture dynamique, donnant l'impression de soulever les eaux vers le ciel. Ce tableau vivant est une invitation à contempler le patrimoine culturel et artistique de Malte.
Au fil des ans, la Fontaine des Tritons est devenue un symbole de Valletta, représentant à la fois le passé maritime de l'île et son présent dynamique. Elle a fait l'objet d'une restauration soignée en 2018, visant à préserver son intégrité structurelle et à redonner à la fontaine sa splendeur originelle.
La fontaine se compose de trois figures en bronze de tritons mythologiques soutenant un immense bassin circulaire mesurant 5 m de diamètre et pesant environ 3 tonnes. Deux des tritons sont assis, tandis que le troisième est à genoux, et ils sont en équilibre sur une base d'algues. Le visage de chaque triton est visible depuis la porte de la ville. Leur posture donne une impression de force ainsi qu'un mouvement en spirale, qui contribuent à la monumentalité de la fontaine. Les jets d'eau ont également été conçus afin de transmettre le sentiment de mouvement. Les figures des tritons représentent les liens de Malte avec la mer, et leur conception a été inspirée par la Fontana delle Tartarughe à Rome.
